Man, the fact I remember every single one of these makes me feel old. I’m surprised you didn’t mention fear evolved 1, when the devs made cave creatures spawn all over the island and they constantly killed new players lol.

There was no arrow when you pulled up the map. You just had to know the geography using landmarks and knowledge.
I remember the flyer nerf happening on around april 1st, and all of my tribemates and me thought it was just a april 1st joke
quetz 50/50 was a very useful bug on ragnarok, as the quetzs would path predictably enough that my tribe was able to construct a trap near the frozen lake that the quetzes would consistently fly themselves into for taming.
Omg I remember the old volcano with me and my dad harvesting metal, the Good days are missed
And also with the music part same deal me and my dad were trying fishing in Ark with sabertooths as our mount, then I had bit a trike and messed up fishing 😭
I started during the first winter wonderland. Argies spawned on the beach lmao. It was ridiculously hard as a brand new player. The southern beaches were also cold so your hunger drained super fast
I hated the Spino TLC because we lost our puppy dog running animation 💔
Kraken's Better Dinos changes it to use that animation
Those big vaults made for great defensive walls for pvp lol. Had way more health than steel walls and you could still use them to store random stuff like flint, stone, etc
Fun fact: moschops being ridable was actually a bug that happened, but when they fixed it, so many people complained, they added it back in!
I remember most of this solely because of how many ARK videos I used to watch before I even had the game. Unfortunately, I had neither a good computer nor any console that could run the game, so despite wanting to play ARK for years, I never got to until early 2020. Now that I have it..... it's pretty decent actually 👍 (also I experienced some of these things from the Switch version, which was permanently stuck on an older version of ARK for years).
I bet there arent many players left who will remember the kamikaze Pteranodons slaughtering beach Bobs on their first release.
I was there. Everything was feral 😂

How about the old imprint timers I remeber waking up every 6 hours to get imprints on my wyvs
I was so sad when the flyer nerf came in. I remember having a PT with like 500% movement speed, it was absolutely amazing for getting around the map as you can imagine
I'm suprised you didn't mention the item weight change with in boxes. How you used to be able to put a plateform saddle on a quetz and use storage boxes to haul massive amount of rss as the weight of items within the boxes wouldn't change your querz weight
Oh and the FIRST Turkey trials. The turkeys would wipe bases. Not even kidding😂😂

There were chains of consecutive animal to kibble paths for taming all of the animals.
27 Oviraptors, average 5-7 of every egg layer, 1 male per species.
357 tames in total.
Lag was an impenetrable defense.
But it was a second job.
So much lost sleep

Fun Fact: the old dire bear model can be found on Ragnarok (correct me if im wrong but i think its that map)
I played ark back in its early access, back when test servers were around. A lot of of this "old" stuff wasn't even around back then, since what is considered old didn't even exist in the beginning! Bodies and poop also glitched everywhere, it would twitch and kinda just flop around or reset its position like it was lagging
I remember the “floating” babies glitch. Also I remember one of the earliest Fear Evolved made the nights longer, colder, and aggressive cave creatures roamed everywhere. It was hell if the early to mid stages of the game. Especially if you hadn’t build a well defended base yet with storage houses for tames.
When I was quite a bit younger playing this game, I always used to think the hot (not overheating) icon was fried chicken, it actually took several years to realise it was a flame... I was a slow kid
Can’t forget about old breeding levels. Used to pop out lvl 596 rexes with insane stats before they removed all Dino’s over lvl 500

Yeah I feel like alot of tames became useless after the update. Back in the day we always had a dozen scorpions. Don't think I've tamed one since.
I swear when Quetzs were originally added they didn’t have the Mohawks. But I might be wrong there

I still remember finding all the new dinos that got added being excited learning the game mechanics and everything when this game first released. This game has changed so much(for the better) and im happy to experience the beginning. I didnt play during early access but i remember pre ordering it and playing the beginning. I also remember when the center was playable with friends 🙄 our favorite map as a kid
I started playing back in 2017 and haven’t had played in like a year this brought back so many memories
Hey man I loved your video, nice work compiling all that info, I started playing on 2022 and I definitely knew very little from experience but I’ve read about it.
PS: About the Quetzal 50/50 I’ve tamed quite a number of Quetzals back on The Island and Crystal Isles specifically and I can definitely say they go somewhere around the middle of the map. They don’t fly straight to 50/50 but always end up there somehow. I recall on Crystal Isles you always found them at the savannah or emberfalls biome, and they always ended up at the central river with the copper peaks/red tree forests(not redwoods)
Ark's og combat music is so epic, it makes me nostaligic
I still color my ascendant gear with red! I can't possibly see it as any different. Man, the old ui brings me back. The game really has changed so much over the years.
Dude, I remember when the spino got added lol. Been playing ark for so long, played a lot of pvp, seen the Metta change, seen Dino’s be busted, then nerfed, I’ve seen it all…

I thought I would know most of these concidering I started playing in 2018/2017 (not sure which one) and I only know like 30% of these, great video though!
I remember the jump puzzle on the center map in the underworld that would award you with ascendant gear if you got to the end
I remember when they added tech dinos. It still feels weird seeing tech parasaurs wondering around
For the old breeding, all I did was have them follow a stationary Dino with the closest range possible and enable wandering. It worked and no need to build a pen.
I remember all of these so clearly except for the original island, I distinctly remember an ice area in the months leading up to the centers release but I hadn't played it after until 2 years ago and my head honestly broke with the swamp and red woods on the island.
Been listening to your videos in the background while I'm doing my resource farming. I have to say it's a lot of nostalgia (not always good memories) while listening to this one. But you are killing me with how you pronounce "similar". Sim-U-Lerr is how you say it, but it's Sim-Ah-Lerr. Just had to tell you that you are bringing out the old man in me while I wave my fist in the air. Enjoy your videos all the same.
120 was max level on The Island for a very long time after The Center came out with 150 max level. If I remember correctly it took some mod to increase it before it eventually became a server setting to override max level for The Island. But I want to say it was after Scorched Earth came out before it was made as an official setting option for servers.
I remember always using the centre as my main map until they added an update that made it to where you couldn’t play on the centre until you ascended on the island
I played about a few hours of Ark a little after it first came out, then never played it again, so seeing videos of how it is now is strange sometimes (though I didn't get to see much in those few hours anyway)
I remember when rocket launchers used to have rarity to them and you could find or make better than prim ones
Op turtle soaking. Ascendant rocket launchers. Quetzal weight glitch with a ladder or ramp and anky. Nerfing the club’s effect against flak and most armor. Quetzal’s with turrets, plants and auto-turrets. Griffins changing ground pvp. Kishko god of foot pvp. No map markers.
back in the day, my tribe had an amazing war quetzel with 400% ms named AC-130. i miss those days
I haven't played since Aberration, and so much of these I look and I'm like wow I really missed out on these updates.
I am not an og, I'm not even going to pretend that I am. Now, I do remember some of this stuff, because I started playing somewhere between Aberration and Extinction, and I did watch some older videos before that, so I do remember some of this stuff, like the sky and the breeding system, though the phoenix and the volcano threw me for a loop.
6:53 lol this still happens to me sometimes, especially if you died one more time while trying to get your stuff back, tho picking up the latest body will solve the issue. Still, if it's bugged, you literally have to turn into sherlock and lower the graphics just to locate the bag. this can be quite interesting tbh
I remember how op the punch function of the bow used to be when the game first came out in alpha. could knock out almost anything with that if you could survive long enough.
Doubt many people remember that since it was patched out pretty early. (I think it was within a few weeks or something).
The old combat music was the best. :')
120 is the max level in singleplayer for every story maps in Evolved. Even if you enable the max level thing in the settings (what should put every map to 150).
also this game was so special when it came out, ill never forget starting out at the beach near the swamp, making a thatch hut with my friend only to abandon it when a lvl 20 spine decided to live in the area. the fuckin terror
I miss this so much was it just me who misses the old argy design I like it way better than the one we have now
Old crafting was amazing
I do miss most of what the game used to be. The one improvement I liked the most out of all new items was the cryo pod. The next would have to be the kibble re vamp. New players will never understand the struggle of having a kibble farm of all the Dino’s to tame certain Dino’s! 🤣

19:00 I won't lie, seeing ptera attack on ground surprised me a lot. I never use them so I never saw it coming. (I use argy only)
Only thing i remember was you couldn’t fly anywhere without crashing. You had to literally plan out your flight to avoid other player base areas. Also if you did crash in the sky your flyer would just stay there indefinitely until it starved so youd have to send a sky scouting party to find and i dont think there was a group whistle.
You missed a good amount of things sadly, some of the memorable ones for me were dossiers which you partially included, however tameable creature dossiers could only be acquired through taming and every other creature dossier was by killing the creature. Then there’s ascendant not being obtainable without using commands, which was a big one and I remember telling some of my mates I was playing with about it and some of them being sceptical, then there’s another major one being mating getting added (which has been implemented over multiple updates as well) because the first update only included some terrestrial creatures, then they added the aquatic mating as well (making frogs and other amphibious creatures and also most of the aquatic creatures), third I believe was adding the invertebrates (excluding mantis’s which came later on) and then ofc last IIRC was creatures only obtainable by stealing eggs becoming mate able. There’s also the fur/feather update which changed the look of many creatures for the better (which was super weird to experience). Then there’s also one that was significant in terms of the use of sabers, being when they were nerfed a ton which happened a bit after the swamp and snow area were added (the saber I had fx had 10k hp pre nerf and after the nerf it had 4,5k). Eels were also insanely deadly when they were first added because if my memory is correct they had more of a lightning wyvern like breath which also had an aoe effect dismounting players leading to them being nerfed a ton as a result. Doedics being added was also a big one as you had no way to efficiently gather stone with creatures before then. There’s also tranq darts being added and then much, much later harpoons and shocking tranq darts. There’s definitely more that I don’t remember but there’s so much stuff that’s changed through the years.

I miss the old UI when it was white text on blue background instead of blue text on slightly darker blue background because most of us with bad eyes can't see that very well
queztals still go to 50/50 tamed enough of them over the years to now that and its a pain on certain maps with water at 50/50
As a person that played ark frist time in 2023 (i were ark fan since 2016+) i know half of the things in video or more
I started playing when it first dropped I think back in 2015 played ever since and one of my favorite games
Some people still plays ARK survival evolved instead of ASA, so some of these things are not really outdated like the pickup mechanic.
Today in asa they are flying all to 50 50. Every time i wanted to tame a quetzal he flew to red woods. And the most times i lost them in the trees or while i had to land for stam
my first ever raid was on the islane volcano i miss that map so much
Yeah when Gigas first came in, the wild ones were impossibly hard to kill and just one shot everything, structures and all
It used to be that when you leveled movement speed, it increased movement speed by 2% instead of what it is now.

man i remember when the gigantopithecus was added. i tamed like 7 of them before leaving them to die on some random server.

Funny enough I think spooked Tapajaras stilll make erratic paths to 50/50. 🤣 I could be wrong on that though.

I still have a memory of taking my tribe mates red ascendant club in pvp when he got knocked out when i was a kid, and i remember i was super confused when they changed UI 😭😭😭😭😭
No cryopods , the old way to get dinos and caves, was hatching and hatching flyers underwater with glitched onto the surface
Pre redwoods was nice … centrally located … decent Dino population… could live without being knocked off every mount every 10 seconds …
One i dont see mentioned a lot is that turrets didnt target grenades. Stand on a quetz and rain cluster nades on bases
I genuinely miss the old kibble system. Like it added so much to the game in PvP because you had to be strategic about it. Now the kibble system is so easy smh

You can turn flyer speed leveling on in settings.
We built a huge base with platforms at 50/50 we got so many free quetzs that passed out inside out gates lol.

Correction, during the Ark launch Beta for a few months the official wild dino levels only went to lvl 60, it was then doubled to 120 when around the time the first boss was added and was only the broodmother which had a name before it was defaulted to the broodmother, then later on when they updated the boss to have an arena the then raised the official wild levels to 150.
