Russia is a very dangerous and potent power and can even trash NATO in Europe. NATO is large, but not a focused organization. Every time so far, except this time… regretfully cannot relate to ANYTHING he claims here is even remotely reflecting the real situation. It’s all coming from our own propaganda (the western one, which is everywhere) and is not serving any purpose except calming us down that it's all good and Ukraine will be "winning" in the long run. The reality is: Ukraine lost with the start of this. It will never be the same after and it lost half of its potential incl people, men and economical growth or possibilities. It is now official third world in Europe.
      All victim of bigger interests outside of it. USA (NATO) vs Russia (and China). Absolutely no useful purpose for Ukraine as such. EU entry does not "give" any advantage to poor countries. Never has. Examples all around (Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic etc etc) - none of which are really near the level of its bigger Brothers (Germany, France, Austria, Holland etc.). Life is not rose and gold.

Russia has never had a weak military. The US media keeps saying how Russia underestimated the Ukrainian military and that Russia is getting beat and at the same time the US government keeps sending hundreds of millions of weapons to Ukraine bought for with US citizens tax dollars. I wish you many more years in good health ahead, you have impacted the lives of many, many people, including myself, for the much better. Oh and your wife, Anna Biller, is a spectacular filmmaker! The difference is between all the wars that Robert Green references in his talk and the war we witness here is the presence of tactics and strategic nuclear weapons. What does a dictator, who wants control, who lives in a weird bobble, who is a socio-pat, do when things do not turn out the way he wants... He doubles downs. He uses nuclear weapons. In the art of war, Sun Tzu says that when you are in a situation where your enemy will destroy you if you attempt to distroy him, you should make sure your enemy has a golden bridge to retreat over. There is a balance that the war in Ukraine will have to achieve, where Russia can redraw with some kind of win while Ukraine does not lose too much in the process. It is not a morally right position, but it is the best outcome overall.

    • @avb5335
      @avb5335 2 роки тому

      Exactly right, my friend. Robert is brilliant, no doubt about it, but I’d like to know what he means by “we need to do more for Ukraine.” Is he indicating we need to send more weapons and cash? We’ve sent billions. Or is he indicating we send troops and/or offensive weapons? If Robert believes we can put boots in Ukraine to push back Russia, and Putin will simply retreat with his tail between his legs, I believe he’s sadly mistaken. I don’t see Putin as a mythical creature as some do but I do believe if his very power structure is challenged, he would not hesitate to go nuclear. Just my thoughts.

One thing that worries me, is that we believe Russia's nuclear doctrine on first strike involves the president, defense minister, and chief of general staff being involved in "pressing the button." However, we're not really sure if all three just have access to the codes and all three are needed for the launch or if Putin alone can act. There seems to exist some unknowns. You must remember, we're dealing with a totalitarian thug who demands all power and commanding start/stop with him.

Zalensky being an opportunist has taken advantage of this and repeatedly sought NATO membership. Russia is boxed in and surrounded by NATO.
