He left a wealth of music behind. So many good songs. They were great when they made um and great today. I live in NJ now but will always have my heart in Cleveland and the Micheal Stanley Band . RIP
Oh man, Idora Park! That is going way way back. The beautiful carousel was refurbished and sits in Central Park today. So many great memories MSB brings back. One of the soundtracks of my life.
I left cuyahoga falls @ 40 years ago and missed alot. Specially Michael. He played my jr high Roberts And high school 😊Cuyahoga Falls Im deaf now but still hear the vocals just like before. Long live MICHAEL STANLEY.
I was at this show. Junior year of high school. I can honestly tell that the M.S.B Heartland album changed my life as a musician. I've seen M.S.B. so many times before moving to Florida in '86. I've spoken with Micheal many times over the years since then. Amazing band that never really got the critical acclaim they deserved...
Coulda/shoulda been Cleveland's Bob Seger, but just never broke through on national level. Tried to replicate live album success of Seger & Frampton with the great Agora album & was even managed by Irving Azoff, Eagles manager, for a while (guessing Joe Walsh connection helped there). So many great songs....great voice, rocker, songwriter & performer. MSB was so much better than other bands that "made it." Fickle business. Those of us in Cleveland got to enjoy him. RIP and grateful for all the great times.
@@CBusMike872 Bob Seger is a million times better as a vocalist. MSB as a band is phenomenal, but there's something non-descript about it. But if you think there's an MSB single on the level of Nightmoves or Roll Me Away, I'd love to know about it and listen to it a lot.
Thats Right Baby !!!! This is My Town !!!!!!! We Love You So Much Michael !!!!! May You Rest In Peace My Brother !!! Cleveland Ohio.!!! My Home Town Man !!!!!
My friends and me would Go to the Tomorrow Club in Youngstown when we were 16 sneak up the Fire Escape an listen to music like this omg the memories Priceless listening now 2024 ,45 Years later 🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎼❤💯
RIP Michael Stanley, ambassador of Cleveland Ohio. My friends and I would always say the only flaw with the movie Major League is that it did not feature any music from MSB.
I saw MSB back at Edgewater in Cleveland, Ill never forget we were all up close and saw them jamming, a great time in my life, his music was exciting for me and my new wife, way back then, RIP Michael that memory will always be with me, your songs are a reflection on happy times in my past life , Thank you.
OMG, Just heard Michael Stanley RIP. I got a vibe a 3am last night and did an MSB binge not knowing. See comment below. That's some powerful spiritual stuff.
I hear ya. I grew up a few houses away from Danny Powers, even jammed with him a few times. Weird thing is, I haven't thought about MSB or Danny in a long time, but had a dream last night and Danny was in it. Woke up this morning and my wife was already watching the news and told me Michael died. Strange. RIP MS
Wow! That time was so sad. WNCX did an all day tribute. I lived near Tommy Dobeck off Woodland Ave. never knew him, but was proud just the same. I listen to My Town every Fri during the WNCX 5:00 salute. I moved to Columbus a few years ago, but that song brings tears to my eyes.
It's wonderful to have found this on You Tube! Published nearly 30 years later, it's taken me back to the best, rockin' years of my childhood! I may have been at this concert at about age 7, and not remember it: My Dad was the WMMS radio station manager in Cleveland, OH back then, & I saw many GREAT shows from the late1970's through the late 1980's. I dig that the video begins backstage (which I remember perfectly!) at Blossom Music Center: That's where I got to meet Stevie Nicks in July of 1984. Some wonderful memories! Growing up to become a professional musician, I've met & become friends with Michael Stanley and a few of his band members... This is GOOD stuff!!!
Awesome that you got to attend so many legendary concerts. My dad was a Chief Sheriff's Deputy in NE Ohio during that exact same time period. The Sheriff's Department frequently did security for shows at Blossom and the Richfield Coliseum, and the Department even owned a suite at the Coliseum. My dad saw all kinds of awesome concerts during that time period. Unfortunately I wasn't born until the late 80's and he retired in the early 1990's so I never got to go with him like you did with your dad. My dad even has a Ford box van that the Sheriff's Department impounded at a Grateful Dead concert at Blossom in the 1980's. The owners of the van were selling drugs and bootleg band merch out of it, so they were arrested and the van was impounded. I have no idea if it was sold a Sheriff's auction or what but my dad brought it home because it had a 302 small block in it LOL!
I grew up in NE Ohio.I went to every MSB concert there was from about 1980-1983.Class act and class ambassador for CLEVELAND OHIO.RIP Michael, you will never be forgotten.

I Played He Can't Love You and Falling In Love Again in A Cover Band Back in The 80's !!! You Will Be Missed But Your Musical Legacy Will Live On Forever !!! My Sincere Condolences To All His Family and Friend's !!! R.I.P. Michael Stanley !!!
Michael Stanley Band was huge in Cleveland and St Louis in those days. I lived in both and loved them in both. Love you WMMS and KSHE. Thanks for playing the real music. Love to all
I've said it before msb should be world famous great people great talent (thank God for the man who paints the white lines on the freeway) as good as Bruce 🚓🤘
That concert was my first date with my wife. I had never listened to MSB up to that point, but it was the only way I could get her to go out with me. Been a fan ever since.
Wow ...these summer blossom shows where life for a cleveland kid..remember seeing msb walking around the richmond mall in there satin jackets and jordache jeans ..good times 😁
RIP from Pittsburgh... where he got some airplay on WDVE, but never got the exposure he deserved. My Town hits home with me growing up in a steel town that fell on hard times, but will always be “my town”
I loved this concert! We went two nights. MSB was amazing live in concert and My Town in this video is as good as the studio version. Rest in peace Michael Stanley Gee (1948 - 2021). We love you!
remember concerts at Keil Opera house in St. Louis. Went to every show, must have seen him a dozen times. Last concert I went to got front row seats. Dream come true.
I met Michael Stanley without knowing who he was about 1976. His mother lived beside my mother-in-law along the Portage Lakes in N Ohio. He was friendly and happy to sit and talk awhile. We were sitting in the back yard grilling and having a few beers. He had something he needed to talk with his mother about so they left to her house. Once I realized who he was, I began following him but never met him again. Great musician.
Wow. I'll date this 09/02/21. This is the real deal. Just discovered these folks. I kept hearing that Ohio was the heart of rock and roll. What, I said? Ohio is where they put shredded carrots in jello, for heavens sake.. OK, got it, got it. Thanks. Cleveland, seriously. Best, Jerrold Richards Lyle, Washington
Glad to see the blossom center is still around. I saw Aerosmith there in the late 80s. I wish the Richfield coliseum was still around. Saw tons of bands there

In our tribute band to Michael Stanley I’ve had the privilege of playing with Danny Powers and Gary Markasky two wild men on the guitar, In the picture to the left that’s myself and Gary Markasky as of today I believe he’s 71 we played the palace theater in Canton Ohio and he still has his original white guitar
I remember hanging out at a local bar in Parma and buzz around the place was who had tickets to Michael Stanley at the Agora that night. Time sure flies
THE GREATEST GROUP THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT.
Couldn't have said it any better myself!! ❤
I just figured them out and I couldn't be happier.
I have always loved these guys and I'm from Michigan. Certainly no offense to my Ohio brothers.
Loved them in high school....but you're right, no one else paid attaention
