    Ik that you have made multiple videos of you sewing jeans together but you should make a turtorial on how to make just a normal pair of jeans or skinny jeans and show the whole process of what it takes to make a pair of jeans from scratch. I don’t find many turtorials that show in depth like your videos and that would be a god send for me cuz jeans are probably my scariest sewing project 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    All I wear are my own flare jeans. The method I came up with eliminates every unnecessary measurement and just makes it a 5 mins process. Only measurements I take is length and width of the flare. I flip the jeans inside out, split the jeans 20 inches in length, the width I use is 5 inches. I iron out the seams on their folds, I put some glue around the seam folds and place a big flare piece on top. I usually use cut up Jean pieces. Wait for the glue to dry and cut up excess fabric, then I just sew along the seams folds. Look exactly like some gallery’s. Very simple process, might seem like a lot but I be creating flare denims with ease

    Great video as always. I’d just like to mention that as far as I know gallery dept almost exclusively uses 501s for these so if you’d like to be as close to gallery dept as possible I’d recommend using a pair of Levi’s 501 jeans.

    i dont understand whats the seam allowance??? whats the purpose of it??

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  8 місяців тому

      It is the fabric that is past the stitch that is not visible from the outside, It does not change the way the pattern fits but is necessary so that the stitch itself has something to hold onto. You Can not sew right on the edge of the fabric or else the seam would not have any fibers of the fabric to form a stitch around.

    I didnt even know anyone made jeans without side seam top stiched... Ir did you just seam rip those too? I am customizing my jeans but there is side seamallowance top stiched and it giving me trouble to sew my new pieces to the sides...

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  10 місяців тому

      most of the time the outseam will be chain stitch or safety stitch, I've seen twin chain before but it is rare and usually only on workwear. If you have that you will probably have to use another pair of jeans. If you are talking about the inseam then that is common, just break the entire seam.

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  10 місяців тому +1

      You have to stack a few stitches whenever you start or end a seam, just go back and forth, if you can't pull it apart by hand then it should be fine.

    Can I do the same flare on the inside that you did on the outside or will it affect how the jeans look ? Because I didnt want to flare it all the way around on the inside but im not too sure if it will work otherwise

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  7 місяців тому +1

      It depends on what the existing seam is on the inside, as long as it's not flat felled then yes.

      iron flat the previous allowance and sew it back together with a straight stitch, iron it again when you're done.

    Can this work with sweatpants also? And if it does what if it has this tight fitting at the bottom of it and if I can turn it into flare?

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  Рік тому +1

      It can work with almost any pants. For the tight fitting area at the bottom it depends on how it's done, if you have a separate piece of ribbing or something you'd have to remove it and replace the area with new fabric. If the hem of your pants is elasticated then you can just remove the stitching and unfold the elastic out of the hem.

    I’m ngl you lost me in the inseam flare bro, so I make the panels WITHOUT seam allowance? And then when I go to stitch I’ll just do like 5/8(or any stitch)on each side and that’ll be the allowance or???

    • @anbentha
      @anbentha  Рік тому

      draft them to the dimensions that you need and then add it, you can do whatever as long as the flare piece ends up the same length as your entire inseam measurement.
