Asobo really need to fix this. The fact it works in 2020 but not 2024 is just a kick in the face. And is it just me or did they miss a trick with the eye tracking entirely? If I were to program this, I would have the head move around, then have the eye tracker highlighting what you are looking at (not controlling the camera, but illuminating the buttons the same as when you put a mouse pointer over it). In unison it sounds like the most immersive way to have it. Don't know why you would have head and eyes both controlling the camera. Think how much quicker you could hit buttons if all you had to do was look at them
Great video, thanks for putting the effort in to help others. FYI, for my setup, axis 6 seemed to be auto re-centering for head rotation. With a value set for axis 6, if I look left and keep my head in the same position, the view will slowly recenter to looking ahead. When I then look straight ahead, the view will not be centred immediately, but it will slowly correct itself (or quickly if you have a high value) as it once again re-centers. I set axis 6 to zero because I found myself struggling to look hard left or right for periods of time without the view moving away from what I was trying to see. Hope that helps others if you have the same experience as me.
Awesome tip, man! I totally get the struggle with that auto re-center. Setting it to zero sounds like the way to go if you want to really check out the scenery! Thanks for sharing! 😎🍿
@@ArcanePath360 A Meta Quest 3 S is only marginally more expensive. And even includes a gaming console. However, PC hardware requirements are significantly higher if you want to use it with FS2024.
Worth it over VR. VR needs higher specs, plus you have to wear something on your head. Same with TrackIR. I've been using it for 3-4 years and helps naturally looking around the cockpit without having to use the mouse or a button.
@@TheNordicVoyager You can't see things like your keyboard with the heavy headset on though. I don't think I could get on board with that concept, but thanks for the input, and it does seem like the tobii is ridiculously expensive for what it is. I would buy it begrudgingly and probably pick up a refurb or something.
Great Video ! I was looking for it for a while couldn't find the exact file to edit . Just a quick tip to save anyone time ... changing ingame Tobii profile while editing file will update values without exiting game hope that helps !
Thanks for the info. I prefer to use as few as possible programs outside of the sim. So this at least let me uninstall opentrack. Something still isnt quite right with the setup within sim though. Have no roll head movement showing up. It has left, right, up, down, but if I lean my head over to look out side window, it doesn’t recognize this like it did before
Thanks for the video. I was using OpenTrack with Tobii until they fix the problem, but will give you solution a try. It would be great if you include the list that you showed in the video as to which axis does what in the comments. Even better would be to include the location to the XML files in the comments.

Thanks for the video. I use opentrack. Should I change to your recommended settings in the xml file ? With opentrack software , Tobii works fine . What is the difference between both?
If you have your settings dialled in, you can keep using it. It’s just that you’re using an external app to get it working than having it set up natively. The main issue would be if the integration was tweaked, you may have to redo your settings. When this workaround came out, I refused to set it up because I used Opentrack with a webcam (didn’t work great) before getting the Tobii, so it felt like I was going backwards.
hi, i am trying to follow your guide but the microsoft.limitless folder doesnt exist. i found the communities folder in C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community but in C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 there is no SystemAppData folder. hidden items are shown and i have not modified msfs 24 in any way, literally just installed and tried to start playing. what do i do?
Do you have Tobii Experience running? If not, you won't see the red lights on the bar nor will it work in the sim. My original video from a few years ago may help: ua-cam.com/video/i_-d69V_uBU/v-deo.html

No, it has to be below the monitor or else it won't be able to track the eyes. There are two mounting options provided with it and then there's a separate tripod that you can get.
Thank you. I am confused. Is there no "pause" key so that once I moved my head to the overhead, it sticks in this position until I unpause? That would be amazing. I just bought the Tobii, I like it but once I move to the FCDU or Overhead, for me personally it is hard to push buttons even though I am not moving my head.
2:32 in the video. Set a button to reset, but also on/off. I personally don't look up to the overhead, but switch my view to overhead and then I can look around in that video.

Is your PC and/or sim in a different language than English? I've had a couple of people mention that they're getting characters or a different language.
My file is showing up in some foreign language when I go to edit it, so I can't change it.
Sounds like your file is on an international vacation! Let’s get it back to speaking your language so you can make those edits.
@@SizzlingPopcorn Just not sure how to do that. Other things Ive tried to edit from msfs is in english

Using Steam? Look at the path in the comments on this video.
Purchased thru Xbox app for PC and I don't have this file either.

Why this can't just be done in game is beyond me....
It will at some time. The ball is in Asobo's court. What I don't get is that Tobii is a strategic partner and this happens.
