With the recent release of Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth for WiiWare, many classic themes are being modified and made more modern. Hopefully, Konami will continue remaking more classic games and themes the fans praise.

You're playing Rebirth, and you beat the first 2 phases of Dracula, which were "meh". Then.....he turns in to a giant mask, he says in a demonic voice "YOUR KIND CANNOT DEFEAT ME NOW", and then you hear this theme. It's simply amazing. He has such a massive amount of attacks, he's pissed! You eventually beat him, and then, you hear the short Theme of Simon Belmont Jingle. My 12 year old mind was blown.
God I love the OoE version.
Although i find the Japanese version of Riddle intriguing, the version featured on Order Of Ecclesia incites a sense of terror.
Especially when you see the stage its atached to
I think that the only thing the Order of Ecclesia version did wrong was to eliminate the few notes that made up the intro for the other versions. It might have made a bit of a difference.
Idk where did the other used the theme, but in ooe wasn't for fights
Seems like there are a few OoE Riddle haters, I think it's a decent mix. The NES version will always be my favorite though, I grew up with it, it's got a special place in my heart, a place full of rage and screaming because of how fuckin' hard that stage is.
*Pitiful human. Your kind cannot defeat me now.*
Why does the Famicom version repeat the chorus twice, but the NES version only plays it once? It makes if feel less of a song.
EDIT: I guess I don't know who I'm asking this too. I'm just thinking aloud.
Space limitations? Shoddy programming? Hatred of foreigners for having inferior hardware and making certain changes out of sp- **shot**
I persoanlly love the OOE because it's jazzy. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. State yours if you wish, but please don't act like yours is the only one that counts. Thank you everyone.
Like how it's used in the Adventure Rebirth as the final boss battle against Dracula.
Famicom Version
If it doesn't have arpeggios that even Shawn Lane couldn't play on guitar, then it ain't riddle hehe.
i just finished playing OoE and to be honest, THIS song was the only one that was sorta like a earworm to me...all the other songs i have forgotten about already.......now i learn that this piece is a REMAKE....shows how amazing the old tunes have been and will always be :)
maybe its just because i had to concentrate so much in the Training Hall, and my brain captured the melody even more so :D
Long live to the greatests Trevot, Shanoa and Christopher (maybe Trevor cause the name trevor c. belmont)
1:56
Famicom is more enhanced and I prefer this over the NES version right now
WOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOT YOU ROOOOOOOOOCK
Loved it from Castlevania III, Running through that forest with those damn birds dropping flea men all over you! Go Trevor GO!
OOE= EPICNESS
Akumajou Densetsu, III and Order of Ecclesia is my fav.
made one of tower of dolls
youre talking about mirror of fate, right?
@K48MKII ecclesia is the best castlevania in the ds so far, music, art style , storyline everything
It's beyond me how anybody prefers the NES version of CV3 after hearing the Famicom version with the VRC6 channels. That's like saying you prefer to hear Beethoven's Ninth played on the demo of a Casio keyboard at the mall. There's just no comparison. What's better about having a bastardized version of a tune? Having said that, I can appreciate the more minimalist sound of the NES versions, but you're only hearing half of the music.
As far as the later games' renditions of the tunes, ehh...I t
( ._.)
since the original composer left and since the same studio that did lords of shadows is doing the 3ds title, i have few hope for what the soundtrack will sound like.
they will probably keep the "cliche cinematic style of music" (which is good, but not in the castlevania universe)
if they do keep using that same style of music, at least re-arrange the classic themes in that way
oh and I absolutely LOVE the OoE remix.
@AngelBeeps
Oh sure, because the game with the ridiculously predicable bosses and the lack of exploration is the more Pro one
My post was made two years ago :P . We didn't know about the Mirror of fate game back then
if we think about it :
game boy : castlevania adventure, Castlevania adventure 2 , castlevania legends (total 3)
Game boy advance : Circle of the moon, Harmony of dissonance, Aria of sorrow (total 3)
DS : Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Order Of ecclesia (total 3)
Nintendo 3DS = next castlevania game ?
Lets hope so.. and by the way, this time do the freaking song more like the original! : D
3ds has a lords of shadow of the colossus game so far
but that game is not part of the storyline :)
but you're right hehe
@Jazzypants2007 So Castlevania Adventure Rebirth = Not so great but better than Order of Ecclesia version?
i know, i was just making an update
Akumajou Densetsu version = FUCK YEAH RIDDLE.
Castlevania 3 version = FUCK YEAH RIDDLE
Order of Ecclesia version = What the fuck is this crap?
@NARFNra
Dude, don't even go there. Classic is definitly the mark of a true fan. Id rather play a hard and fun game, than a sissy game that you can take20 billion hits and still live.
You forgot Kid Dracula.
i think the rebirth one could be the epic theme to the very last boss in a NDS game where the boss is just completly made up of darkness
The ReBirth tracks remind me of Konami's 90's arcade titles. I assume both were made using similar sound equipment (the KO or K0 series, if memory serves well.)
Every one of these collections I listen to, it's all good and I love the music and then ReBirth comes along and SHITS on me. I don't know what it is but every song that's in that game is not as good as other versions of itself.
i dig you bro..
unfortunately.. they fucked it up using the new design and bad as hell music
no retro whatsoever :( i hate mercusysteam
I didn't really like Ecclessia's choice in music. Then again, the game didn't even compare or Dawn or Portrait...
while the OoE sounds really good, it KILLED the epic intro. Doesn't set the song up right very well.
@MysteryEzekude It's not fantastic, but it's not the version from Order of Ecclesia either. This one would be the middle ground.
@CloudStrifeZX Yeah it has good art, but DoS and PoR have much better music and gameplay.
@Jazzypants2007 Castlevania Adventure Rebirth version = ?
I love the OoE version. I get all pumped up whenever I hear it. It's especially energizing when you head into Large Cavern.
AGAIN a another tune only for Nintendo console (there is Aquarius)
How can you seriously credit these games as being Wii releases? The virtual console is just a bunch of really bad emulations.
I keep trying to read while listening to this...silly me.
Order of Ecclesia FTW
can you do a music collection with the load bgm?
Awesome
Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate.
so far the best version i've heard of riddle isn't from an original castlevania game but is sung by the vocaloid megurine luka
I, dare I say it, want to see a third person Castlevania on 3ds.
Don't kill me, loved the 3d games.
@scrimpeh Well its pretty butchered imo, the bass line is messed up, that awsome synth sound that peaks up and down is almost completely inaudible, the intro isnt as epic but WORST of all it just sounds too upbeat, almost carnival-like, to me (these comparisons made to the CV3 version)
18 long years without a remake.... and the OoE one is pretty subpar at that -.-
That makes me a sad panda
