I loved this movie I was glad that John saved also all those passengers on the plane and he also bring them to the bunker in Greenland as well so he also saved much more lives as well Including his family.
I think the cast was 100% I think Evans would have been miscasted. I really REALLY liked this movie. It was so emotional and I was NOT expecting from a Gerard Butler movie. I think its his best role and movie.
Truly a beautiful piece of cinema! Acting and directing was incredibly jaw-dropping. If a movie is able to encapsulate you into its movie, and allow you to just for one second, leave the real realm, and even feel a part of the movie itself, this makes all the difference to a movie. The art of Thrillers is truly fascinating that requires great skill to pull off. If you have yet to watch it, 100% recommend it! You will not be disappointed.
@ 4:38 “John’s a Law Abiding Citizen” Me: I see what you did there... Law Abiding Citizen is another movie starring Gerard Butler in case I needed to spell it out to y’all.
This started out really good, but devolved into nonsense and frustration. The entire plot only exists because the parents were not responsible enough to make certain that their child had (SPOILER) his insulin. Why in the world would you trust a kid that young to be responsible for his life-saving meds? Also, you find out that the people chosen were selected not only for their use, but because they were in great health. There would be no lifetime supply of insulin for the kid. What happens when they run out? From there, it was one ridiculous obstacle after another. I wish it had maintained the tone that the first 20 minutes set up, but it had my attention and my interest. Instead, it decided to become almost as silly as 2012 was.
I wondered how they managed with insulin while they were in there. It's not like they were planning on people with diabetes being present. It did feel a little 2012 once they were in route too.
I love disaster movies, and I thought this one was pretty decent even though they made some serious mistakes during it (like when the mom was separated from the dad... smh) Bølgen, a Norwegian film, is my favorite disaster film. It's based off true events
loved this movie way more than I thought I would. couple of notes. like you said the bunkers were built in the early 1900s so this was a contingency already put in place, 2. you said the govt would just bounce, and there was a report in the movie that said "white house has yet to respond" i laughed with my wife and took that to mean the already got gone to the bunker. and I don't belief for a second they "just saw the comet headed their way, a couple of weeks or days ago" they set that lottery up and system with, according to the end of the movie, with all the world leaders. Why does no one talk about all the people who would have survived that Gerard Butler injured or killed, through his actions. The first plane he was on would have been in the air or close to take off when the base got overrun. So all those people would have survived. Yeah it was the perfect at home flick, if I had seen it at the movies I probably would've expected a little more of it. The CGI was a bit MEH at times, I wish they had cut the movie right before they opened the bunker at the end, maybe given us audio of them walking towards the door and maybe some birds chirping instead, saved on the CGI bill and used that throughout the movie. Nevertheless, it was good. Nothing bad or amazing.
4:28 I remember watching this with my mother and being in Florida we criticized the movie so much on how actual Floridians would act during a whole end-of-the-world crisis. Looting yes, roof parties may be, and generally, we were expecting way more fires, explosions, and riots XD
This movie was trash. First of all, the kid and Johns's wife SUCKED. They always got them into trouble, like going around to get his insulin while John is already getting it. Or like them opening the backpack to get a blanket and dropping his insulin, they sucked so much and were nothing but liabilities. Also would like to point out that it said the five stations were in Greenland but were actually around the world. And finally, so they had shelter in like Sydney Australia, and New Delhi India, but in North America, specifically the USA, they had to go to GREENLAND? Also if people who couldn't go to Greenland should try to get to at least VERY northern Canada and try to get to Cornwalls island, which is very northern but has a small town. This movie sucked.
the one thing I am really hating with action movies is all the kids have asthma or diabetic and always forget the meds. and the mom should have stayed quite in the car when they got a ride.
