It never ceases to amaze me how these guys always brought true ALBUM SOUND to their live performances; to the point where many of their LP's were simply cut from recordings of their live shows. I LOVE CASIOPEA!!!
Issei Noro is incredible. He's insanely good and he was way ahead of his time in terms of technique. Very few people in the 80's were playing slap guitar and very few people are playing fretless guitars like he could even now.
I love this performance so much. Its just perfect. This set is coming up to 40 years old now and still were all listening in awe by how much these 4 awesome artists were fucking cooking like fuck that night!

i think all of the instruments add their own strength in this genre of music. without any one feeling "right" it would fall apart. Synth player has a tough job of making up for the vocalist and he does great!
i've played guitar for over half my life, seen a lot of artists but his playing is incredible. I can repeat that part a lot of times and still discover new things. it's not he's struggling to manage it, and putting all effort into it, he's having fun and expressing himself. it's not a game, he and the band are in their own bubble, their own vibe, it's beautiful. they're all on each other's level, top class.
I encountered Casiopea when I was in junior high school 1990, and never looking back. Casiopea is always my number one band. And the beginning of my adventure in fusion jazz music. No other genre amused me better than fusion jazz .

Any one here who likes Tetsuo Sakurai's bass work should check out the youtube clips for the "Gentle Hearts Tour" that he did with Greg Howe g, Dennis Chambers d, and Akira Onozuka k. It is wonderful music. This is great too! I remember listening to this group in the past. They were fun!
Ever since I first saw this video, 1988, as an occasional drummer, I could never forget the beat Akira Jimbo made. And tried to copy that. And failed. Awesome drummer! What a drums solo! And a great bass solo as well! And of course, a great band!
