Dragon Age went to an even higher level for me with this theme. It reminded me of the scene from Fellowship of the Ring when Gandalf says, "Let me risk a little more light..." and reveals the awe-inspiring view of a once-proud Dwarven city.
Imagine this theme playing and an unexpected horde of darkspawns appears. Beside your character is the hero of ferelden, the champion of kirkwall, the inquisitor, and you (da4). Everyone of you did not expect this and solas did not expect the outcome of his undoings. You redeemed solas but it was too late. He made everything worse and solas fights alongside with you...final battle and the finale of the dragon age series. 3:25 plays, "i hate the deep roads" said Varric and Cassandra. "I know, right?" Replied king Alistair. He then looks up and saw Morrigan smiling to him and their son as she turns into a dragon. Every companions from the origins, da2, da:inquisition, and da4 lines up. the horde of darkspawns are shouting and the old gods coming out from every eluvians around thedas that solas unintentionally released turn into archdemons flies up the sky, breathing dark fire and as the camera pans out, the horde is infront of the grey wardens, the inquisition, the templars, every soldiers are ready for the beginning of an end...to be continued.

The fight against the emissary and his unlimited horde of adds is my favorite fight in the whole game. Playing a high level rogue where you can engage and disengage effectively at will in a fight that finally can take a long time without being a dragon. Especially because it’s not easy to just jump the emissary directly and you get swarmed so fast. And this is playing the entire time. Everything that comes after this is cool as story and lore goes. That fight is the single best in the whole game
竜昌 no you were very wrong..da4 is currently being made by the same team that did dlcs for inquisition like trespasser. While it may not be the full same team anymore sadly I do have hopes knowing some of the people who made inquisition are still there trying to make a worthy sequel.
Yeah, Inquisition is a great game, can't wait to see what they have for us in Dragon Age 4 :) I really would appreciate at least a little teaser at E3 since they are working on the game, but I guess that Anthem is the priority :) I hope BioWare succeeds :)
It's still considered as a poor game in comparison with DAO. :( I think DAO was awesome too, but DAI is defiitely no inferior copy by any means. It's a worthy successor overall! ^.^
The game is rated enough. And haters have some good reasons. Game has its problem. Not only problems with big empty locations, but with too monotonous combat system. No doubt, the game has a really wonderful atmosphere, one of the best. I played it in 2015, and for now my heart beats when I remember those beauty. Every location has such an unforgettable charisma. Just walking and breathing there - is a pleasure. And only for this I love it with all my soul. But without it - it`s really about 6/10 in best case. Just for to be in game and breath with it`s atmosphere - 9.5/10, but to play it - I had very strange and boring feelings - 6/10)
really wish they made either a dlc the size of awakening or just a game entirely on a Dwarf hero fighting to reclaim the deep roads. With how they made the deep roads in this DLC i can imagine such an awesome adventure.
Yes,just like the art on trespasser,the rock formations above the Eluvian form a dragon,it is the dragon age after all,and it was named that way after increased sightings of High Dragons :)

Inon made some great tracks and definitely was like what John Williams was to Harry Potter in setting the tone of the themes down, but Morris surpassed him without rejecting the style of the series for it in my opinion.
It took me two hours and a half to survive the darkspawn, with tacticts, positioning, strategy, combos and spells combinations, I was fucking ecstatic at the end and could barely breathe as the Alpha Emissary fell to his knees. I fucking love this game.
what difficulty were you playing? :D i defeated this stage after second time because game crashed, i was playing on normal with knight enchanter main character, so i guess it was easy mode :P
I swear to anything thats important for me (which is dragon age and like few people) MORRIS' SOUNDTRACK for the DA: INQUISITION IS ONE OF THE MOST EPIC THINGS EVER CREATED and it sends shivers up and down my spine every fuckin time!!! And this??? This particular soundtrack got me through some of the toughest fights in the deep roads because it invigorates you so much!!! It screams DWARFS and HONOR and SACRIFICE everywhere!

The music illustrates perfectly my first time discovering the old underground 'world'/titan in the DLC. I couldn't help myself and took 1 billion screenshots. It was awesome! PS: I really felt like falling into the sky there...makes you wonder where the dwarves learned that saying from...
I know riight?! And when you reach the bottom most level it just hits like a truck! It was awesome, so legitimate and I totally felt like exploring underground tunnels and then discovered the underground world! ^.^ DAI really explores the world well and really leaves people wanting for more in a good way. Not many games let you explore sooo much and still keep making the world so believably mysterious! THIS is the real fantasy world 101! Love this franchise! :D

@@why712 I’m a fan of his work too, I just don’t how it’s going to fit with a fantasy setting like dragon age though. I was a bit skeptical of Trevor being picked over Inon Zur for Inquisition but Trevor really understood the assignment and proved me wrong in the end. I hope that happens with Zimmer but I just don’t know yet. The music for descent dlc and trespasser were some of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard and I’m quite saddened that we’re not getting the next chapter of those pieces. The lost elf theme in particular was something I was hoping would be incorporated heavily in Dreadwolf.

there were so many missed opportunities with this dlc but I had a big called it moment when the lady dwarf used magic( since the first game I always had the theory that the dwarves could use magic but something was blocking them) the basis was Genlocks had emissaries but if they were born from dwarves that shouldn't've been possible, also Sandal need I say anymore. But also I was hoping we might see the Profane again and maybe another one of the Magister class darkspawn or maybe the Architect if you spared him

Venturing and going beyond the Deep Roads. Gloriously fighting Darkspawn hordes. Learning of Dwarven lore that's interesting than Ancient Elves and great music! I wish the Warden comes back. I imagine it'll be grim and glorious. I miss that guy.
In my opinion, the Suicide Mission is more epic than The Descent Theme. This is an individual matter, but the flight through the Omega 4 relay is much more important than going down to Earth. So it should be associated with greater emotions. :)
@@dartpi1436 IDK, Leaving Earth felt way more emotional to me. If that is what you're referring to... IDK. Also, Normandy Reborn > Any other Bioware theme. But The Descent comes close, as does the Trespasser theme. Though I must say, I like Inon Zur's characteristic dragon age theme more. Really set the tone for Dark Fantasy that Morris can't really match.

I loved da for all my life, replayed it many times, but haven't tried playing ma, cos i don't like shooting and movies/games about space. Once I found Suicide Mission on UA-cam I can't stop listening it. It's seems that suicide mission is the greatest song ever I heard, particularly after I completed me trilogy. I'm really fond of dao main theme, dai, and other games soundtracks but SM is best for me.

ah shit man, DAI really opened up a lot of stuff to discover. IF bioware was still going strong i wouldn't be too worried about the future of DA game. thing is, this and trespasser really is just a prelude to something greater. something we fan MUST know. i really really hope bioware would get their act together for DA 4.
It won't even be a proper rpg, you won't be able to control your followers. Whatever hope I had, quickly vanished. I might still get it on ea play if the story is decent, but it's no longer a proper crpg.
The intro sounds reminiscent of the more emotional Game of Thrones tracks from the show's score, especially the House Stark related themes. Probably similar instruments/sounds used. Very heartfelt and good. I really love the battle theme for this DLC too.
LOVED the dlc's. It's so hard for me to point a dlc as a favorite nowadays, but DAI's dlcs were so. much. FUN. And especially in Nightmare mode with my KE mage Trevelyan. Loved going through the waves of darkspawn. The battle theme always hyped me up and I'd never been so happy to have darkspawn kick my ass. 🤣 I'm certainly not alone in wishing we got our Hero of Ferelden to make an appearance in this DLC. Just imagine - some other normie posing as a random NPC helping the dwarves down there in the mines, but when you face the Emissary, they pop in, all armored up and helping you fight.😭🥰
I got shivers all over my neck! This is just the best piece of music Ihave heared since Suicide Mission from Mass Effect… and yeah I know its 2022 already 😂
This dlc is great, Interesting lore, very very awesome art the deeper you go, music is top notch. What lacking is the lenght of the dlc itself. If they can make this but 4x longer man i will pre order the shit out of it.
honestly they could have made it like awakening from origins, and even have the option to make an entirely new character, would have been so cool to play a dwarf from the inquisition sent by the inquisitor or something. just have the full dwarvern experience
Been playing DAI now for a couple of weeks. It is truly Remarkable. How they fit All of this into one game, ill never now. It makes games today look really silly honestly.
I hope the active combat part of this returns in a part of a future game which highly involves characters/concepts from Origins. Like whatever the hell things are going with the Warden(/someone else?) pursuing a cure for the Taint (or are we just calling it Blight for everything now? Bleh).
Dragon Age could do with a return to its roots IMO. Even though everything is intertwined I still find the Taint/Darkspawn the most engaging part of the lore.
taint is when you get darkspawn blood in your wounds or ingest it, its highly poisonous and will kill you in days. the Wardens use a special ritual to taint themselves in a way that won't kill them as quickly but they will still die in about 30 years. what our warden is looking for is a way to cure the calling(the gray warden taint) since there has been a report of someone who did it. our warden is already a super warden since he ingested that special darkspawn blood

i love this series so fucking much. with so many of the original team gone i'm so worried for the future. but i'm hopeful. if they make da4 a live service game and mess it up like they did anthem i'm done with bioware forever.

Kind of reminds me of Githyanki and Githyanki Battle themes from NWN2. Fantastic soundtrack overall, though I miss Inon Zur's vibes from previous installments!
Zur gave good 'vibes' (that thankfully this DLC recalls) but I always had some dislike for how he approached soundtracks. Never disliked the soundtracks themselves, but DAI (especially DLC composers) showed how I could enjoy Dragon Age better in the musical regard. I just hope the next game doesn't depart too much from the foundation, because again I never disliked the first games' music. I was just all for the more epic scale of the sounds in DAI.
I'm normally not a fan of dungeon missions, especially caves, which definitely tainted this DLC for me, but I must say, it is certainly an entertaining expansion with good music to go along with it.

My party kept getting wiped, and eventually I just had to solo the Emissary Alpha as a knight enchanter.
Note: doing the Jaws of Hakkon dlc first improves your chances against that bastard emissary alpha

This was the first mission where the deep roads actually lookes stunning and beautiful with all the blue lines and ancient buildings

But The Descent comes close, as does the Trespasser theme. Though I must say, I like Inon Zur's characteristic dragon age theme more. Really set the tone for Dark Fantasy that Morris can't really match.

I loved da for all my life, replayed it many times, but haven't tried playing ma, cos i don't like shooting and movies/games about space. Once I found Suicide Mission on UA-cam I can't stop listening it. It's seems that suicide mission is the greatest song ever I heard, particularly after I completed me trilogy.
I'm really fond of dao main theme, dai, and other games soundtracks but SM is best for me.
dwarven lore 1000% more interesting than anything else (interwoven with the blights, of course). i'm...not looking forward to killing more elves.

Thank you so much for this. I've always thought it was a bummer that videogame soundtracks never seem to include ALL of the music. The soundtrack for this DLC really was excellent, even better than the main game imo. (Which was also very good.)
ah shit man, DAI really opened up a lot of stuff to discover. IF bioware was still going strong i wouldn't be too worried about the future of DA game. thing is, this and trespasser really is just a prelude to something greater. something we fan MUST know. i really really hope bioware would get their act together for DA 4.
It won't even be a proper rpg, you won't be able to control your followers. Whatever hope I had, quickly vanished.
I might still get it on ea play if the story is decent, but it's no longer a proper crpg.
The intro sounds reminiscent of the more emotional Game of Thrones tracks from the show's score, especially the House Stark related themes. Probably similar instruments/sounds used. Very heartfelt and good. I really love the battle theme for this DLC too.
LOVED the dlc's. It's so hard for me to point a dlc as a favorite nowadays, but DAI's dlcs were so. much. FUN. And especially in Nightmare mode with my KE mage Trevelyan. Loved going through the waves of darkspawn. The battle theme always hyped me up and I'd never been so happy to have darkspawn kick my ass. 🤣
I'm certainly not alone in wishing we got our Hero of Ferelden to make an appearance in this DLC. Just imagine - some other normie posing as a random NPC helping the dwarves down there in the mines, but when you face the Emissary, they pop in, all armored up and helping you fight.😭🥰

This dlc is great, Interesting lore, very very awesome art the deeper you go, music is top notch. What lacking is the lenght of the dlc itself. If they can make this but 4x longer man i will pre order the shit out of it.
In my opinion, its still the best mission in the whole game, except for that trash boss at the end...
honestly they could have made it like awakening from origins, and even have the option to make an entirely new character, would have been so cool to play a dwarf from the inquisition sent by the inquisitor or something. just have the full dwarvern experience

Been playing DAI now for a couple of weeks. It is truly Remarkable. How they fit All of this into one game, ill never now. It makes games today look really silly honestly.

I hope the active combat part of this returns in a part of a future game which highly involves characters/concepts from Origins. Like whatever the hell things are going with the Warden(/someone else?) pursuing a cure for the Taint (or are we just calling it Blight for everything now? Bleh).
Dragon Age could do with a return to its roots IMO. Even though everything is intertwined I still find the Taint/Darkspawn the most engaging part of the lore.

The HoF is finding a cure for The Calling. A Blight is when an archdemon is born and gathers a darkspawn army to destroy the world.
taint is when you get darkspawn blood in your wounds or ingest it, its highly poisonous and will kill you in days.
the Wardens use a special ritual to taint themselves in a way that won't kill them as quickly but they will still die in about 30 years.
what our warden is looking for is a way to cure the calling(the gray warden taint) since there has been a report of someone who did it. our warden is already a super warden since he ingested that special darkspawn blood

Imagine this theme playing and an unexpected horde of darkspawns appears. Beside your character is the hero of ferelden, the champion of kirkwall, the inquisitor, and you (da4). Everyone of you did not expect this and solas did not expect the outcome of his undoings. You redeemed solas but it was too late. He made everything worse and solas fights alongside with you...final battle and the finale of the dragon age series. 3:25 plays, "i hate the deep roads" said Varric and Cassandra. "I know, right?" Replied king Alistair. He then looks up and saw Morrigan smiling to him and their son as she turns into a dragon. Every companions from the origins, da2, da:inquisition, and da4 lines up.
the horde of darkspawns are shouting and the old gods coming out from every eluvians around thedas that solas unintentionally released turned into archdemons flies up the sky, breathing dark fire and as the camera pans out, the horde is infront of the grey wardens, the inquisition, the templars, every soldiers are ready for the beginning of an end...to be continued.

i love this series so fucking much. with so many of the original team gone i'm so worried for the future. but i'm hopeful. if they make da4 a live service game and mess it up like they did anthem i'm done with bioware forever.

Kind of reminds me of Githyanki and Githyanki Battle themes from NWN2. Fantastic soundtrack overall, though I miss Inon Zur's vibes from previous installments!
Zur gave good 'vibes' (that thankfully this DLC recalls) but I always had some dislike for how he approached soundtracks. Never disliked the soundtracks themselves, but DAI (especially DLC composers) showed how I could enjoy Dragon Age better in the musical regard. I just hope the next game doesn't depart too much from the foundation, because again I never disliked the first games' music. I was just all for the more epic scale of the sounds in DAI.
I'm normally not a fan of dungeon missions, especially caves, which definitely tainted this DLC for me, but I must say, it is certainly an entertaining expansion with good music to go along with it.
