Why you NEED to BUY the Akrapovic Race Exhaust! - Before and After 2019 Honda CBR650R

- Here's a video of the stock exhaust on a 2019 CBR 650R and then one with the Akrapovic Full Race System with no Cat installed. Sound is much better! It crackles and pops and is certainly much safer on the road. Install was not too difficult, I would rate it a 5/10. Any questions, please feel free to ask!
Part number is S-H6R11-AFT
The part fits both the CB650F CBR650F & the CBR650R

That CBR 650 r can do150 MPH at max speed.. that's 250 km/h.. and yet, it's not enough ? lol
I Installed this same system on my 2018 Honda CBR650f (which is the same bike) and rode it 10,000 miles and it is amazing the pops and low growl. I miss it so much haha. Enjoy that
Did you dyno tune after that,or doesn't need tune?
Faizi Bro You can’t do a full system exhaust and not tune the bike. I had a Power Commander V installed and loaded the Akrapovic tune onto it from their website.
Thanks bro for the info
Just installed this
The best of all i have heard till now
Just an amazing exhaust, that’s it.
Man I've owned gix600, Daytona 675 and have the 2015 Repsol SP since 15... And I really like the bike. It's just perfect! Nice seat for GF rides. Amazing front end, lights and dash, perf sound. Great bike. I should take one for a test but I hear they're pretty rare already? Love the black ones too. Safe riding!
FRFM00 hey man. I just saw this comment and was wondering have you tested the bike?

Can you do a review on the cbr500r vs cbr650r
Sure can, but it will have to wait, because both of the bikes are being prepared for storage!
Dude Can you do a long term review of CBR650R and a video on Why you didn't buy the CB650R, or Other competitors like Ninja 650 or Gixxer 600 instead? Cool content!
Thank You!
sweet man! Just got me a 2021 CBR650R and Akrapovic is still working on making an exhaust for the 2021 since it is EURO 5 (yours is EURO 4). MY question to you is did this Akrapovic come with a baffle you can remove and put back in as you please?
How are you enjoying the bike? I'm looking to upgrade to this from my cbr500r. I'm in Cobourg by the way!
I've seen this install on a few other videos and it looks like you have the most clearance between the end pipe and that gap it has to the swing arm. . . Did you have trouble getting that good of a gap? Seriously, the other videos the thing is literally 1/8 inch or less from hitting the swing arm. I am looking into buying this bike man, I know it's winter now, but could you maybe do an in-depth xxx-miles review? Was this your first bike? There just isn't enough material on UA-cam about this specific bike man and I want to make sure I'd be making the right decision. Thanks for re-enabling comments too.
Also, when you were revving it I noticed a strobe blinking on your dash, is that an aftermarket shift light? Or a stock deal.
Bro, both the sounds touched my heart deeply especially the after market "The mighty akrapovic" . But firstly the bike man, this bike touches the soul. Do upload a fly-by video of this machine. Cheers!
Definitely will do that! - there has been a few requests. I've recently acquired a better microphone so you guys can get a good understanding of how it sounds.
Can you do A flyby
Sure can - It's a bit cold here where I live, and I am just preparing the bike for storage. I'll be doing a video outlining how the bike performed in its first summer of ownership and the process to store it. Thanks for watching!

Yeah he has the full system exhaust so he had t to remove the fairing in order to install the headers and everything else easily
Thats right, and it comes with full instructions on how to do so.
Hi, do you know the weight of the Akrapovic exhaust and the stock exhaust? I wanna know the difference please. Thanks
mica09mc Hi there. The Akrapovic exhaust is 11.9lbs and the stock is 22lbs. That’s a net change of 10.1lbs. I believe that’s a good delta, don’t you?
@@andrewkarski thanks for the answer. It's very interesting. I think I will order one 😁
One problem I ran into today is that the screw that kept the sound muffler in the slip on part broke. But later down the road I'll remove that to make it louder.
hey man , im 165 cm tall , do you think I could get this bike ?, btw nice video man !
Yes - bike shouldn't be an issue for your height! Its best to go to the Honda dealer and sit on the motorcycle so you can flat foot the ground. That way you will know for sure.
Andrew Karski ok man , thank you!

is it with euro4 norm? :( have this bike too and want to know if it is legal to drive in Germany.
This is the race variant on the exhaust, I believe Akra is coming out or has just recently released one with a catalyst built in. Do not install this if you want to be 100% road legal. In my province motorcycles do not require catalysts.
How much aud did this system cost?
It was a bit expensive as it was the only system when the bike came out, giving it temporary competitive advantage. I paid the hefty price tag of $1700 CAD after taxes.
Andrew Karski who cares it’s awsome was well worth it
Andrew Karski one thing though you should be careful if it hurts your ears as you may develop tinitus which is a constant ringing in the ear. I have it
Johnny humes Very good point, I’ll certainly try it this year with the dB eliminator installed.
Andrew Karski haven’t heard of them? Do the muffle the noise though
are you going to get a flash tune? i have the same bike and exhaust and feel like at about 10k revs the power plateaus out...maybe too lean at the higher rpms
I notice the same thing and have considered it - but for how often my bike sees those RPM's, I think the money saved for a tune can go to a few cases of beer.
:)
Bro..i hav a doubt..like did you jus slip on the exhaust or change the full system
Changed the full system, not a slip on.
@@andrewkarski can we jus add an slip on exhaust, rather than changing the whole system..cuz its too costly bro
@@hamzahahmed9099 its a under belly exhaust so even to put a slip on the cat must be removed... austin racing makes slips for this bike
So cool!!!
Did you change the stick air filter after changing the exhaust? And also did you remap the ecu?
Not yet, I have my first service coming soon! I'm almost at 1000kms on the engine, so I need an oil change. I'll have a look at the air filter, but I believe with the new dual intake design, the restrictions are minimal, at least compared to the last generation throttle body. Remapping the ECU would void my manufacturers warranty, so that is something I haven't considered yet, and probably wont in the future, as the bike has no flat spots anywhere in the RPM range. Runs flawlessly.
@@andrewkarski thanks for the reply mate. Since its a full system i was wondering if it needs any change in the air filter or the ecu map to adjust the fuelling.
@@srinu20040303 No, not necessary but it can provide smother power delivery.

A bit expensive, but I suppose in most cases, you pay for good quality products.
Where did you order from ?
Fortnine
Do we need to remaping when install this exhaust?
Not necessary, but always better to remap.
Hi I just bought the same exhaust how do you remove the screw that's holding the DB killer?
It was quite tricky, you just need to "break" it off. It has a small tack weld holding it in place.
Could a person start out on the honda CBR650R
Mutulu Oteka I would advise for a new rider to start off with a 300cc, such as the CBR300R or CB300F. You can find them used for very cheap and get used to the feeling of a bike while still having a load of fun. If your confident you can learn quickly, I would get a parallel twin 500cc such as the CB500F or CBR500R.
Truth be told you could start on any 650cc if you're not the type of person to stress out. The 650's (CBR650R/CB650R, Z650/Ninja650 and MT-07) are easy to ride and will let slides mistakes really easily. Start by taking the MSF course and take the time to think about it afterwards ( see if you were comfortable and confident on the bike and then decide what you want to start on)
@@carllachance7788 thx
@@carllachance7788 That's a great point, if you take a safety course and are comfortable, the 600 series bikes may not be a bad place to start. The only thing I noticed with this motorcycle compared to my old 500R, was that on turns the tail drifts out VERY easily when the tires are cold upon a bit of throttle. That might terrify a new rider.
@@andrewkarski any bike will swing the ass on cold tires. may help ive ridden dirt bikes all of my life so i dont get scared off too easy.
@andrew karski It looks like you removed the db killer/baffle? Was it difficult to remove the db killer?

how did you remove the baffle?
Glad you asked. This was quite difficult. I ended up doing it off the bike (removed the muffler can), and stuck a long pole in through the other end and bashed it through. No damage to the interior and came out with little difficulty. I tried pulling it at first, but had a tough time. Sorry if that's not very clear.

Better sound with a illegal pipe without db-eater. What a success...You could also bore a hole in the mid-silencer of the original pipe - that's cheaper.

How can i bore a hole in the mid sillencer.interested
why did you prefer cbr650r instead of cbr600rr ?
The cbr650r looks better than the 600
The cbr650r is a sport touring bike, easier on the wrist and back bcoz of the more upright riding position compared to the the faster and lighter cbr 600rr which is a pure sports/track bike
@@shockwave9282 yeah its comfy i got it but the performance is really weak compared to 600rr. isnt it? if being comfortable is the main reason for choosing a bike, there are lots of other choices out there..
sunger bob Suzuki 650 and ninja 650 is slower than the cbr 650 but they're still popular here in Asia, its just preference and prize, every bike has it's own pros and cons. Sure there's plenty of bikes to choose from but it all depends on your lifestyle, riding style, taste, budget and the bike you are most comfortable and confident with. For many riders the cbr's 94 hp and a 150 mph top speed is more than enough for the street and long rides but if you love short rides and track days then get a 600rr or a 1000rr
I chose it because ergonomically it fit my body very well. Once I sat on it, I was very comfortable. It was also in the power range where I was comfortable. I use it only on the street, and don't race around anywhere so the power band fit my lifestyle and riding style. Happy riding!

Question; why does the back fire turn when revving bike engines? I noticed I was at a light with my MT-09 in 1st gear with the clutch held in... revved it to like 5-6k and noticed the bike kinda move forward ever so slightly... I'm worried my clutch isn't fully engaging/disengaging when I'm holding it? I don't wanna wear it out?
but I see your tire turns as well when you rev it..
It's normal. I think it's just the vibrations of the engine. Don't worry your clutch is fine it happens in neutral too
The oil moving makes it rotate
No need to worry, this is normal. it's so minimal, you can hold the wheel, there is almost no pressure.
have you been around the 600rr just kind of wanting perspective on the real world performance instead of what the paper says.
Yes I have, and also thoroughly enjoyed it, however it was much to expensive on insurance for me. Canada's, specifically Ontario's insurance rates are ridiculous for motorcycles, especially super sport bikes. The 650R is classified as sport touring, so I went this route instead.

At the time of the video it was basically brand new, now I have approximately 2100 kms or 1300 miles on the bike. (Still a baby)
