I am a filipina and base to my experience living here in the US for 16 years. Most of us filipinas will changed and become westernized.80 percent is divorced not all filipinas fault but they won’t put up with the husband’s when they are here.
I’m married to a Philippine woman and I know your spot on with your statement. Let him talk his way into moving her away from her family and culture. He will find out if he’s mistaken.
@@toddjohnsen7996 yes, some never leaves with their husband but their attitude changed. The shy, gigly, nice filipina will become americanized, independent and stress of life here in the US.
Personally the reason I'm going to move to the Philippines is because of financial reasons. I'm never going to be rich and I'm okay with that but I definitely deserve a better life for myself. My LDR is God's blessing to me and I will honor his decision.
Bro I was in the Marines for 12 years. I have been to the Philippines a few times. I have friends that married girls from the PI. None of the relationships lasted. Every one of the girls from the Philippines start hanging out with other girls from the Philippines that are americanized and change them. I hope you do not make the mistake...
Happens with Vietnamese as well when brought back to Australia end up doing 6 days a week work and hang with Australianized Vietnamese resulting in many broken relationships.
@Mr Sky's Scammer Patrol They/You got a wrong filipina woman. And YES i agreed with you, some filipina doing shit. I guess Filipina, American, Australian, whatever many women do rubbish. But many filipina preferred want peace and calm life. I have friend couple from Uk and Filipina they've married for 20 years and they're just perfectly happy. Me and my husband 10 years together with 1 daughter, we are much happy. Just be careful choosing a wife. If from the start she keep talking about money, should know already what kind of woman she is.
Hello Paul, I am a Canadian with a Filipina wife and we moved to the Philippines in 2015 . We bought a farmland and built a house everything was great until those crazy neighbours would sing Karaoke from Friday until Sunday night so we never get any sleep. We complained to Barangy and police and city hall but nobody could stop it so we sold everything and move back to Canada in 2019 but the cost of living has gone through the roof and the cold weather is terrible.. things are worst now then in 2015 the first time we left 😂. We decided to sell our house and move back to the Philippines for good this time. We only need to find the sweet spot with good supplies and hospitals and roads. Philippines has a lot of islands there’s to find a good spot . We plan to stay in San Pablo Laguna about 1.5 hours from Manila. I think everything I need I can get on the main island . I really think it would be very hard for you and mae to go back to the U.S.A to live. I hear it’s the same as Canada or even worst ! Better in the Philippines with less stress.😂
Agree, however the challenge is unless both are super focused and committed day after day, the changes are subtle and gradual. The society, attitude of most and other factors can wear and tear. You are perceiving a bit differently before you realize it. One or both change over time unless you (and she) are very unique. The western "programing" is different let's say.
@@RobertMeadePowerOfImagination true The cost of living and peaceful life in the Philippines would keep me there. Trips to the US but no permanent move
Wow! Theres so many factors to this. My wife came to USA in 1990 and we've been married going on 34 years. One good thing was that she preferred to hang around "certain" Filipinas & distant relatives that were more inline with her ways, beliefs, etc etc. Its soooo Important to be aware of who she'll be around or influenced by if you decide to bring her here. I see one gentleman mention that its not the same over here as when you & him grew up and time period. He's so on point and the dynamics have certainly changed: so you & her have to navigate that. Here's an Example: My wife was on the phone with a solicitor for something, when the person asked my wife a question. My wife replied: I have to wait until I consult my husband (Me). Well the lady on the phone got irate and retorted..Why do you have to ask him! Can't you make a decision on your own. My wife was pissed and said Yes I do. Then Hung up. Case and point, your wife may encounter Hyenas like this which will test her. Something to consider.
1986/married for going on 38 years... and I agree. Good morals and values are hard to corrupt. My wife has learned over the years to pick and choose her friends carefully.
I have been with my Filipina Wife in Australia for 27 years. She has never wandered or even looked like she would. I think the biggest issue is when they move to the West, the Western woman's attitude will be fed to her through media and friends. If she is strong and loyal then no problem. As far as statistics go Paul; 80% of all US Divorces are initiated by the woman.
@@cubuffsfan4147 wow! Not only do you predict relationship outcomes but life expectancy! Well, life is a day at a time, tomorrow is not promised nor is good health. I am a non smoker but do not think I will outlive Paul. The arrogance and harshness is terrible. My friends..married 30 years..the husband 15 years younger and the wife became sickly because life happens..she had bone disease and heart troubles from childhood complications with scarlet fever. She was frail at 75 and he was almost 60..when both died within a week of one another. Cancer killed him and she in visiting him in a hospice setting caught COVID. They loved each other until the end. I never thought she would outlive him..nothing indicated that. I remember when they met. She was this beautiful woman and she caught his eye. I knew him first. She did not look older than him but as she did age it became obvious. She would be in and out the hospital and he would be so loving. Yes..they argued..had challenges as we all do but in life..predictions do fail. Live, love, and be kind to others. I am sorry whatever circumstances have made you respond like you have but it is social media and I see it a lot. Stay well and peace be with you .
@@dwrr4868 I think so too. And if a wife is in the position she should as well. For me, I do not think I will outlive my husband..meaning life is not guaranteed. I set things up in our lives to make sure he is okay. Financial advisors thought my decisions were different based on life expectancy predictions to take a pension that is lower but stays the same for him if I die. We are same age .I am white- he is black. Numbers point to me outliving him. I retired early but still can work and am still earning money. It also provided him great medical care for life. The problem is if he remarries so smarter for him to just have a non legal partner. I think we all should live like today may be our last. Not saying do not plan for a future. I save money and am resourceful. I have more working years in social security than he does because him coming to USA in late 20's and me working from teenager on multiple jobs at a time. For me, love is providing and sharing life together and not dying and leaving a big mess that can be prevented.
@@cubuffsfan4147 You are certainly not a realist. I think you are a cynical troll that maybe has an axe to grind. You also seem to be forgetting that Paul has helped Baby Mae set up an income generating youtube channel.
Paul, described the scenarios perfectly, you are also a good judge of character, and you found a jewel in Mae, so any doubt would be misplaced. You found the perfect partner in each other. Enjoy your time together as planned! ❤️
Me as a filipina i love My country and i will live here forever thats me ... Ive seen so many vlogs from first world countries i didnt know that there are so many homeless in foreign countries living in the streets full of garbage acting so weird bec they are high on drugs we have poor but not like a zombie that are addicts
I think nowadays living in USA is unaffordable unless your income is 5k USD a month if you go back , unless you have a mortgage free property Waiting for you . Just my opinion I'm a foreigner and happy transplant to Philippines 🇵🇭
Cost of living is my main reason to say don’t return to the US. Crime and political BS is next haha. Philippines is wonderful and I really enjoyed my time in Dumaguete earlier this year
It depends on what you are after. If you are single and don't care about corruption, bad health care, a poor educational system then the Philippines is can be ok. The best thing for any Filipino is to become a citizen of another first world country and then have the benefits of both countries. But if you have children, the United States, and other first world countries, is far far far superior. It's not even close.
Here in US property value goes up 10,% or more every year. Utilities up 50%, food up 20%. Even insurance has gone up 50% for cars! I wish to not leave the US for retirement but it's a near certainty I will be forced to emigrate. Sad.
My age-appropriate wife from Cebu has been with me in Texas for 10 years now. She just got back to Texas yesterday from a month long visit to Cebu and her fathers town about an hour from Cebu. She has been Americanized and hated it there. She wanted for us to retire there: now she doesn't. As for a wife looking for an "upgrade" either they will or they won't. My wife won't. I don't cheat and never will and wife knows that. Right before I was to go under the knife for emergency triple bypass surgery I had my lawyer come to the hospital with a witness to do a modification to my will to make damn certain my wife was taken care of for the next 150 years should the surgery go south. When that was done I let them wheel me in for the surgery. After that my wife knows she was the only person I cared about. We're good.
@amossnowdaharleyman9179 I currently live in the Philippines 4 years now. My live-in gf is 21 years old and doesn’t have any children. Im retired with a pension and dint any plans on living in the US ever again.
It doesn't sound like you have the same age gap as paul. And I bet your wife doesn't like to wear very short shorts. How old are you and your wife? I feel the same way about mine but I'm 51 and she's 45. We're too old to upgrade. lol.
I just got back from a couple of weeks in the US. I still have no interest in living there. My wife wouldn’t go anyway. Home, for me, is here in Thailand. Personally I liked your previous plan to use the Philippines as a base while traveling around the region. A month in the US could be part of that. For someone living on Social Security + whatever, the States are pretty expensive. Only you can decide about your future medical care.
My brother has been married to a Filipina for 40 years in the USA. Sure, they had their ups and downs but overall, a happy marriage. Personally, I've been married and divorced twice during that time ( but not to a Filipina). It's all about finding the right one.
True my wife came over in 1990 and Thank God she didn't change much in the sense of adopting the Western woman ideology. We are both the same age so that is a factor and she prefered to be with certain Filipinas with the same mind set as she so that really helped alot.
The dating environment and society were not the same in the West 40 years ago. when your brother got married. 90% chance that if you are an older guy with modest means and you bring your younger Filipina to the U.S. nowadays, she is going to ditch you within a few years. There are a gazillion such cases.
You are correct about Baby Mae. Nothing to worry about. If she was in her 20s different story. However, the financial stress you would have in the US is reason enough for you not to move back.
You are a wise man Paul. I also love how you love and care for Mae and put her needs first. It is all about making sure she has the opportunity to continue to better her position in life after you are gone. Which would be hard for her at her age in the Philippines. Once she gets that duel citizenship she will have many opportunities for her and her family once you have gone to heaven. ❤
It’s a tough one. It’s either real love or it isn’t. It’s great to give your wife the US future option. Most people advising you are naturally coming from a place of prior pain. That’s why most are looking for more overseas. You seem to have a beautiful real relationship with a very unique individual. Best wishes for a continued meaningful trusting relationship. I would avoid the U.S. at all costs in this period of lost values and chaos. 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Paul, My opinion is that in today society in North America it may be problematic. Internet present lot of dangerous opportunities. Couples that did go back to USA or Canada 30 years ago did not have to worry about that.
Your video reminded me of a quote usually attributed to Carl Sagan, “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” Without addressing your wife or personal situation, just because someone hasn’t cheated, or stolen or even killed that is not PROOF that they won’t. It might simply mean that they haven’t YET.
Great video Paul. For me, I'm coming to the Philippines for me... to retire and forge my own paradise. Finding a filipina to share it with is a plus. A good life shared, is enriched many times over. But the question of whether to take "my filipina" to US, just isn't an option. Sure we will visit there... but I am leaving US for a reason. The rat race, the stress, the mindset and lifestyle. And yes, the huge cost of living. I won't move back to US with a filipina, because I won't move back to the US. :)
Mae is a very authentic, grounded, non-materialistic woman of faith. You don't have to worry about her. You chose wisely, Paul. Plus, we've already seen her grow and change in recent years, as she's become more confident and outgoing, developing her own successful YT channel. I dare say it hasn't hurt her relationship with you.
I brought mine to the United States along with her kids, I wanted them to have more opportunities than there was available in PH. None of them wish to go back to PH permanently now. I am not retired so I had to keep working and she is happy being able to work and she hasn't changed much, so it was the right choice.
Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Women have the same instincts. You brought her to a woman dominated country where any bad actions by her will be covered up by the state and you will be made to look like the bad guy. She will be trained that you are responsible if "feeling" aren't happy and excited all the time. The government will help her steal your shit.
Great story, and there are many just like yours. It really depends on the quality of woman. So many men go to the Philippines and lose their minds - and get fucked over. And then there are some men that hook up with bad women, take them to their country, and get fucked over. The warning signs, if the man is paying any attention at all, are obvious. But too many men think with their itsy bitsy teeny little weeny and not their big head.
Randy, I brought my beautiful Filipino wife to the states in 2015. She loves it here and only wants to vacation in the Philippines. We both have small UA-cam channels mine, Chasing My Asian Queen and hers Filipina BeautyVlog.
Paul will have no UA-cam revenue in the US, that’s the end of the debate lol 😂..he appeals to a certain demographic albeit ex pats like this type of chat although I am personally worlds apart from this couple. My partner finds it odd I watch these channels…it’s just a bit of fun after all. As my girl is middle class ex corporate banker etc etc ..we are younger ..and lived in Manila. Have nothing in common apart from Filipina/western relationship. All good fun. GLTA
My thoughts Rural America especially the South is still the American Bible Belt! I am a Southeastern Oklahoman. A totally different world from Los Angeles or San Francisco or New York! We speak to our neighbors, Love God, stand for the American Flag, cling proudly to our Bibles and Guns!!! (one former Liberal American President criticized us) Living is cheaper in Rural Oklahoma and many government safety nets if a person's income is low.
may not be good for Paul, doesn’t mean it will not be good for Mae. I know many in the uk many Asian women as soon as they get the visa they gone, must be true love . They became Westernise, you can think you can trust a woman lol, maybe because the Philippines is a Catholic country, women have more family values. But you get good and bad in all nationality.
Thanks for your view on things. I just like watching to see how it is for different people to work their lives out now. I wish you and your wife the best. Wherever you choose to be.
i was married to a filapina for 6 years in the states.our marriage did not work and i blame it on the k1 visa you only have 90 days to decide whether to marry her or send her back .thats not enough time to get to know someone but i have met a lot of americans married to filipinas here and their marriages are working for 90 percent of them and its because like you said its their core values.
The assumption is that you have spent a decent amount of time with your intended before you apply for the K1. Why would someone apply for a fiance visa without knowing them fully over an extended period of time in person?
Been watching you/y’all for years (3), one of my favorite channels. Always learn a lot, great, sensible, realistic perspectives, oh and I rarely leave comments.
My precious Filipina wife and I were married for 42 years before she passed away. Both of us had our opportunities to stray. Neither of us did. My wife and I believed (largely on account of our upbringing) that marriage is forever, and that if we were having issues we could work them out. Utter disrespect for our partner might've been grounds for ending our marriage but that was never the case, from the moment we said "I do." People are people, always and everywhere; and if either one of us went for "the better deal" that quickly or easily, then either or both of us should never have gotten married in the first place and would probably be better off if we weren't. Like I said, we both had our chances, staring us right in the face; one or two of them were during a time when Mindy and I were having a tough time in our marriage. We chose each other over the low-hanging fruit, and I'm convinced that Mindy stuck with it because she was Filipina, and that's generally how Filipinas are built. It's in their DNA. _GENERALLY._ If both of us got married for the wrong reasons we would've split up. We chose to go through the narrow gate. It was made that much more fruitful because of Mindy's and my values, mores, and how much we had to lose if we cheated. If it were any other woman, especially an American woman, it would not have ended well. Give Filipinas credit for their commitment; it's a large part of their appeal.
Your one of my favorite vloggers Paul and it's good to see you finally wake up and smell the coffee. Yes, get her green card and citizenship!!!! As far as Baby Mae leaving or divorcing you, IMPOSSIBLE, she is as loyal as they come
I'm a filipina living in Georgia for almost 20 years now. I will support Paul if ever he decides to bring Baby Mae here. I know many men are afraid to do the same thing, but this will be a wonderful gift for Baby Mae. I loved it here. We are living in a small town, and my values never changed.
If you were still single, I don't think moving back to America would ever cross your mind. But now that your married, making sure Mae is taken care of after you pass has become a factor in the decisions you now make. Where would she want to live when you're gone? That would be the place to own a home.
Mae is a sweetheart but if Paul brings her back to the USA, chances are that he will end up broke and alone. It's just human nature that she will be attracted to younger, wealthier men.
I’d take her for a visit just like I would take her to any other country. I don’t think it would be wise to move there for the same reasons you moved there to begin with. Cost of living here in the states is getting impossible to deal with. Yesterday I paid $4.69 a gallon for fuel. Groceries are ridiculous too. My mom is a retired teacher and is paying $2080 per month for an apartment and that is more than 2/3’s of her income. BTW she won’t move in with any of her kids because she loves her independence at 86.
@@RetireandGo no no no. If they can afford it, the obvious choice is America. I don't know of one single Filipino that lives in America, and I know a lot, that wants to go back to the Philippines to live. NOT ONE. They might end up going back to retire...maybe...but most do not. The cost of living in the Philippines is cheaper...for sure. But the quality of life. The educational system. The health care system. The opportunities are all FAR better in America and it is not remotely close.
Good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster. For all of the horror stories out there about an expat bringing his Filipina back to the states only to have the relationship fall to pieces, I'm certain there are plenty of success stories where the opposite outcome was the result. For men, this really comes down to how well you vetted your partner prior to committing to her as well as how you choose to treat her as your partner. Its one thing to not be socially aware enough to not see the red flags, but its an entirely different matter if you do spot the red flags but choose to dismiss those warning signs. Men that make this critical mistake have only themselves to blame. Ditto if you choose to treat her poorly and try to absolve yourself of any accountability.
My late wife loved America. Her core values remained the same. I learned to see my country through her eyes and I developed a newfound respect for the U. S. We had a beautiful, wonderful and fun time together. I miss her so much, but she left me with so many beautiful memories. Just take your wife there and see her reaction. It will be priceless.
Baby Mae is, in my opinion, the salt of the earth and totally trustworthy. Additionally; she is not a 20 something and finally you treat her well unlike how some guys treat their filipinas so she would have no reason to change.
They have a wonderful relationship. I would stay in the Philippines for cost of living and lower crime reasons. Not for relationship issues. They are tight
Everyone is different, but I married my wife not only because I loved her but because I saw😮 all the struggles she went through in the philippines. I wanted to give her a better life and bring her to America. It's the dream of many people around the world. I made that dream come true. I don't want us just to just survive in life. I want us to thrive and have goals and be productive. especially since my wife is younger. I want her to have a future with investments and income. Not just hold my hand as I age while collecting SS. That would not be fair to my wife and kind of selfish. The dream of most 3rd world country people is to live in America and experience it. Have a better quality of life. 😅 Lets be honest and real.. Phillipines is a place to visit, but unless you make your surroundings much like America, it is a hard life. Most of the philippines is in poverty. If you want to spend your retirement in a poverty-stricken inviorment, then more power to ya!. If a person wants to use the Philippines as a retirement village or facility, more power to ya. The average American in their late 60s and up to me will have a hard time adjusting not only to climate and food, but it's a culture shock going from a clean modern environment where the food is top notch to a 3rd world country where street food is the main diet. Another thing the philpiines is a noisy country you have karoki music, dogs barking, rooster crowing, motorbikes, jeepneys going. Not to mention many conversations in another language for hours on end that you do not understand. I have been coming here since 1994. I think I can speak from experience. Anyone can survive anywhere if they have to. But thriving is something else.
Here is where i see it regarding my relationship. I have a Thai girlfriend that just became my Thai Fiance recently. She is educated, smart, very nice, affectionate, loving, czring, snd a family woman (have I mentioned beautiful too?). I will be taking another trip to Thailand in October to spend my time with her, her 2 kids (I have 3 older sons) and her family on my vacation. Before I had thought of marrying her in Thailand and having her move to my home in the USA BUT now Im thinking of still marrying her in Thailand and ME moving to Thailand when the time is right for me. Why the change? Because I believe there are TOO MANY WOLVES here in the USA that would hunt her down, make myself extremely jealous (yes, that part of my Cuban blood) and all hell breaks loose as I won't put up with it from anyone. I can tolerate some jealousy to an extent (as she is also protective of me while I was in Thailand) but i just see TROUBLE brewing because of this! We will no problems traveling together back and forth each year (while also traveling to other countries as my health issues are stable). So Paul, whats your take on this?
Your assessment is spot on Paul. But don't leave it 10 years! And yes if you can buy in the States, do it! Start Mae's permanent residency now, a few years she'll be a citizen. Don't delay. Good for you both.
I would not like to take my Wife or Daughter to Australia to live. The thought of how they would be treated, the lifestyle, the Culture (or lack of) then my Daughter attending School to experience what my Aussie kids experienced, no thanks!! Also in Australia, I was POOR! Here, I have been able to achieve so much more than I ever managed to achieve in Australia. The Philippines has been the Land of Opportunity for me! I can do so much more, and so much better here in the Philippines for my two Girls. I can afford to send my Daughter to a good Private University here. Here, we own our Land outright, along with the House we are still building. We have no Debt owing to anyone here. I would struggle in Australia just to live week to week and I feel my Girls would feel MISERABLE. Here they have their Family and close Friends. In Australia they would be isolated, or end up connecting to a local Filipino Community, and what I have seen of those in my time back in Australia, I do not think I would like my Girls associating with the Social Climbers that abound in those Groups. For me my fear is not if my Wife would leave me, I experienced that twice with two lazy unfaithful Australian Wives, which I learnt to move on and continue living just fine, it is the Culture Shock for them which I am afraid of and I would not like to see them struggle to survive like I once did.
completely agree, the culture shock, the racism they will experience as well as the generally aggressive Australian culture is not conducive to a good family life.
Give it a go! You moved to the Philippines and that was a smart move, I'm sure Mae will enjoy the change to be in America also. You can always come back. Try that exploratory fact finding vacation first, then see. You counsel guys thinking about moving to the Philippines, Take that advice and turn it around... God luck! Keep.laffing at your own comments! I enjoy that and all your 70's lingo. They're a hoot. I love the nostalgia 👍🏼
Everyone’s situation is different. I think alot of it has to do with what part of the country you’re going to. It seems that places with a larger Filipino population are much better than those with little or no Filipino population. We’re living here in upstate NY and my wife is very happy living here because we have a big population of Filipinos.
This is sort of funny and actually the truth that it may be better in reverse. My ex wife who I brought to the United States hid from other Vietnamese. She wanted nothing to do with them and only wanted to be another girl in the United States. She did not like how they bragged, chased money and gossiped. This is from a girl who I supported to get a four year nursing degree and she now makes more than most Vietnamese or Americans working as a registered nurse. Sometimes being around others from your country of origin is not the best idea.
@@anthonymoody2897 Oh yah? Well give it another 25 years and then let me know!... Just kidding! Ok, you look pretty solid there for sure. Can I ask what the age gap is? I'm guessing your within ten years of the same age?
Don't worry Paul... you are smarter than you look. You two are well grounded and will make the right choices. I'll get back to you about price comparisons between here and there once I clear a day to be on my own. Be good guy
When a Filipina loves you it's forever. You will need to find Filipinos in your area. So she will not be lonely. Main problem would be homesick. You know that the west is not all that. Many problems with racism in the west. Politics in the west is nuts now.
Good discussion. Visiting the US would be wonderful, but I would not consider moving there. I’m one year gone from the US and not returning except for family visits. Violence, crime, political angst, unhealthy people, cost of living … nope, stay in beautiful Dumaguete. :-)
LOL. If it is working for you, keep doing it. But one year is not much time to judge. And America is actually safer than the Philippines. You just don't hear much about the crime in the Philippines because they don't report much on it. Unhealthy people??? LOL. The Philippines has the unhealthiest people I have ever been around. They start dropping over dead around 55 at alarming rates. And if you have any type of serious health problem - you are fucked in the Philippines for the most part. They might not even treat you unless you give money up front - and that includes emergency situations. Ask yourself this: If you are having a heart attack, and many foreigners in the Philippines do have heart attacks, what country are you going to wish you are in? The country where you can call 911 and emergency services are there in five minutes with ambulances loaded with life saving technology and highly trained EMT's? Or in a country where there is basically almost no emergency services, you have to throw yourself in a jeepney or other vehicle, and get rushed to a hospital where they might actually refuse to treat you unless you can show you can pay them NOW?? Seriously, it happens on a regular basis like that. I lived in the Philippines for 16 years. It was good for awhile. But then the absolute chaos and incompetence starts getting to you and you realize that if you can afford it, it is better to be in America and visit the Philippines.
Paul, you would have to keep her close if you decide to do that,,,, any new friends could not be trusted, even some of the philipinas over here, how I lost my wife. She was one of the sweetest women I've ever known, to this date I still don't have anything bad to say about her. Her only flaw was that she trusted the wrong people, was to naive to survive in this toxic culture, and when I say toxic, I mean toxic...... If you value your relationship, your peace of mind don't bring your wife to America, there's a reason you left. Get back in touch w/ the old Paul, ask him for advice, it got you this far didn't it? You're Welcome :) Maybe buy a home, one that your wife likes and she'll be happy, you'll be happier than moving back here trying to buy a home the price of a new home and possibly struggling to make ends meet, do you really want that headachce. I'm moving to the phillipine or thailand when I retire in a couple of years to get away from the modern womens here in America, the same modern women that will do their best to adjust your wife to become like them every chance they get, they can not stand to see a man happy :)
There are more than a few expats that brought their Filipina to the USA and regretted because their Filipina changed once in America. There are other expats that brought their Filipina to America and everything turned out swell. As long as you are aware of the risks and weigh out that the potential benefits are worth the risks, then you can pull the trigger on the move.
Ultimately there are so many factors involved with the location, situation and the people. I’m thinking for cost of living .. the Philippines is the place to retire and stay
If the guy has a good Filipina, he is not going to have to worry. If the Filipina is with him for money, and many are, then it will likely be a problem. The vast majority of Filipina's that go to America are good women and loyal. It is so damn easy to spot the bad ones. I am constantly stunned how damn stupid men are and how they are so easily scammed by OBVIOUS scammers in the Philippines.
@RetireandGo In Paul's case, I believe if he were to move back to America, he would be doing because he probably believes it's in Baby Mae's long term financial interest. It seems to me he is a good hearted guy who, in a way, would probably be sacrificing himself in order to give Mae the economic opportunities available to her America. Paul knows he is much older than Mae and probably wants to give her the opportunities available to her to support herself and her family when he is gone.
I honestly think that you have the best and the winner, Paul. I have been in America since 1980. I was 19 years old then and traveled for work. I've watched your channel and baby Mae most of the time. And I think she is awesome! I'll be surprised, too, if she leaves you.
If there is 80 percent chance of rain, that also means there is a 20 percent chance it won't rain. If you have a significant age gap and a foreign wife with a college degree...there is an 80 percent chance your marriage won't survive in America.
GREAT VIDEO PAUL NOBODY says it better than you with all your experience and knowledge, no matter what topics you are simply the best, making all your subscribers were lucky enough to found your channel, love utube shorts PAUL as much as I do, God GiVEN TALENT, thanks PAUL for all of your outstanding videos
Well thought of analysis of your opinion in this matter. I admire your sensibility, Paul. I believe you and Mae are both lucky to have each other. You're a good man! Good topic...I enjoyed your video as always.
To find a lady? Now he's done that, he's free to bring her here. Why not? She will love it and she loves him. It's all good. She's still very young. She could still study to be a nurse if she wants. Mae would make a great nurse.
Paul, thank you for your continuous videos, this video was really informative, I am currently thinking about remaining in the Philippines. Taking my loved ones to New York will probably be a tremendous cultural shock with the politics and crime. Thanks again!
I disagree with you 1 million percent!! In America you will have problems with the big age difference when you are out in public and people in America are outspoken and there are going to verbally attack you and your wife constantly because of your large age gap. If you wife gets a job in America she will start to meet a lot more people her own age and those new younger female friends on her job will tell her you are too old for her and they will tell her constantly that she can do a whole lot better than you!! In addition, if she starts to go out with friends she will quickly straw away from you and end up leaving you!!
IMO You'll won't living high on the hog on SS and a minimum wage Filipina in the US. Think about the immigration process and length of time to do so. The length of time to get a green card to work for her. The set up costs for a household. The general cost living and needed income to live comfortably. Basic apartment costs 1.5 to 2K$ per month. The career path for a person with nominal skill set. The cost of your health care. The return of Medicare part B premiums reducing your SS income. The co-pays for healthcare services. Automobile and insurance costs. The disintegration of your U Tube channel due to you no longer living in the subject matter of your channel. Life is an adventure though. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Sounds like life in the Phils is not all that U tuber's make it out to be. So many move on.
Paul shaun here the blk guy you met at the park a few months ago!!!!! Enjoyed your channel I’m back in the states but will be back in philippines in sept hope to see you soo. Take care my friend!!!!!! And i hope your friend who had the stroke that i met feels better also!!!!
If you take your wife to American in the toxic environment that exists in America right now with the political divisions, the racial tensions, and the historical shootings and crime, your wife will change!! In addition, people in America are not nice like here in the Philippines, your wife is very nice and in the USA people are very mean and they will constantly hurt Baby Mae’s feelings and she will be ready to go back to the Philippines within a few months!!!!
Great video, Paul. I've had the opportunity to work with several Filipina nurses over the years throughout the United States, and the character and moral grounding of theses nurses as a group would make their parents proud. From small towns in the midwest to more regional areas such as Kansas City and Dallas, their base character, attention to patient-focused care and ability to avoid the never-ending politics associated with american based healthcare never ceased to amaze me. Many of them were married to american men, some of them had foreign spouses back home, but their focus seemed to always be on work and home, with none of the chit-chat and flirtation that normally goes on in hospitals where someone is always looking to better-deal someone else. Hospitals are a breeding ground for better-dealing, for whatever reason, across the U.S., and I've seen it up close and personal. For whatever reason, the Filipina's I've known and worked with simply didn't participate in it.
To many temptations 😢 buddy. you in the Philippines and the women looking at you🤔now you in America the men are looking at her🤨 use your best judgement buddy.
I think getting her dual citizenship would be a huge advantage. If what your worried about is her future, Paul she needs 10 years with you and she will get your benefits when she is old enough to retire. If there is some kind of issues security wise down the road in the Philippines she will be evacuated. It’s good to have options, but you met her there, your gifts were received there, and you know that this isn’t the same America, that’s why you’re there.
You are thinking visit but no moving back just like me. That’s the best I think But, it depends on many things. I say stay in the Philippines but maybe visit family in the US
Yes. It would be good for her to experience the states. My wife’s first impression was that it is lonely. No one walking along the street. Very quiet. Just be careful of who she befriends in the states. Some single divorced women are jealous and will seek to destroy what you have. I think that may be your only danger. The second thing to surprise her was that the people and homes were not as beautiful as what you see in the movies.
I brought my wife to the USA. First because I was not retired. The advantage now is that she has her citizenship along with her daughter. She can now get ss on my earnings when she turns 62. She is also able to travel pretty much anywhere in the world without restriction.
Comes down to personal/joint decision. Getting things together for Mae and you are smart long-term benefits of U.S. residence and or citizenship are a huge plus for Mae when you are gone! If you can afford to purchase a place in the states to settle for a few years, there is no down-side. This is coming from somebody who has been married to a Filipina for 39 year's. We both now have pensions and bounce back and forth from the U.S. to the Philippines. Best wishes
Hi Paul, I married my Filipina in Costa Rica in Jan, 21. We finally made it to the Philippines in Nov of 22 and I never plan to return to the States. I will take her home for a visit sometime but we have agreed that the Philippines are where we are going to live. I will echo what others have said. I am 59 and the States of today has nothing in common with the place and time I grew up. The animals can have the farm. I would think long and hard about returning there to live. Love your Pod.
Regarding your first point, moving to America with your fillipina will also expose her to the culture - a culture where large age-gap relationships are considered freakish. As she develops local friendships, she may find the relationship-shock from others may make lead to a subtle form of peer-pressure to find another relationship . .
Don't listen to all the negativity Paul. Only YOU know how strong your relationship is. One option is to take her to Guam so she can experience the American way of life. It's very easy to assimilate here and plenty of jobs are available. The mainland will be much different and more stressful than you remember. On the other side of the coin, I imported my wife in 1986 and for 27 years she worked, she learned, and she grew into a strong independent women. It was the best thing for her AND our relationship and we are stronger together today for it. Most all of our friends (Fil/Am marriages) that we have known for years back in the states are still together. We have a home in Samar but we both prefer the comforts that the American way of living here in Guam provides. Sure it's a bit more expensive than most places on the mainland, but much more peaceful and relaxing. Here in Guam, we have the best of both worlds - Filipino culture, American food... and we are still in SE Asia and only 3.5 hours from Manila (we will be back in a few weeks). I say go for it Paul! 🌴 😎
There father/daughter dynamic will be greatly magnified if you move to the US. She will be vulnerable and you will play the guide. It might be an adventure for awhile but where does it lead? It sounds like car rides to work and back. I think she will want to work a job and won't be able to drive a car. Where does that put you? Ahhh. You will become the butler just like I have done for 25 years now. I'm not complaining, but wouldn't call it retirement. It could be a grind and then it could be a fun life. I hope you don't let this idea run out of control if you plan to say no about it.
My first take on this is the cost of living moving back to the USA would greatly increase. Rent has gone up significantly the last few years. The management companies no longer cover any utilities, and if you want a pet they charge a one time fee plus a monthly fee. My one bedroom apt of 700 sq ft, that has not been updated since the 70s, is $1,450 per month in the Chicago suburbs ( which is on the lower end of the spectrum), then tack on utilities. Car maintenance, insurance for home and car, groceries, activities, eating out, all would concern me more so than anything else. If you purchase a house what is the property tax, and possibly a HOA, and upkeep? All of that needs to be looked at closely to see how it would all fit into your monthly budget. To your point, the possibility of Mae finding someone else in Dumegete is true if she really wanted to, however that is an older group of guys vs the pool of men in the USA. However with that said, I do not think that Mae is the type to want another guy. I was very shocked to hear the guy that you just interviewed, where his wife left him and the kids to go back to the USA. Health care, the USA is definitely top in its game, however St.Lukes in Manila, rivals a western hospital, is just a short plane ride away should anything major come up.
Hey Paul my dear friend, you and the beautiful Baby Mae will be together forever my dear friend. No matter where you two go, you two will never part ways. Baby Mae loves you more than you can imagine brother, and I'm sure that you love her more than anything. Baby Mae is not materialistic. Baby Mae is one of the most real and down to earth people that I have ever seen. You truly have a beautiful soul in Baby Mae. Thank you Paul my dear friend for sharing this awesome video. Hello Paul, I married a Cebuana and she came to Phoenix, AZ a year ago on a K1 visa. I'm 50 and she is 28. She doesn't like it here, according to her, people are more rude and insensitive. We own a condo in Mexico, (Merida, Yucatan) and she prefers the life there or the Philippines. Some Filipinas/Filipinos will adjust to the life in the US and some wont. You/her will never know until you/her try. You can always go back to the Philippines if things don't work out. We will be spending our time between Mexico and Cebu.
No don't take her to the USA unless you are ready for her to trade you in for a newer model.
Don't do it
You made a decision to move to the Philippines, and I think you better stay there
You are exactly right

It happen to me, Divorcing now...
Better in the Philippines with less stress.😂
it doesn't matter where you are; it's who you're with that counts!
There is a lot of truth to this
Agree, however the challenge is unless both are super focused and committed day after day, the changes are subtle and gradual. The society, attitude of most and other factors can wear and tear. You are perceiving a bit differently before you realize it. One or both change over time unless you (and she) are very unique. The western "programing" is different let's say.
@@RobertMeadePowerOfImagination true
The cost of living and peaceful life in the Philippines would keep me there.
Your so right she will come across a lot of disrespectful man hating feminist in America. Keep her in her culture around her family.
I'm sure he's making provisions for her to get his ssi if something should happen to him.
We are same age
.I am white- he is black.

Been married 38 years to my Filipina, wouldn’t change a thing. Now at 63/60 we’re talking about retiring in the Philippines.
Me as a filipina i love
My country and i will live here forever thats me ...
Ive seen so many vlogs from first world countries i didnt know that there are so many homeless in foreign countries living in the streets full of garbage acting so weird bec they are high on drugs we have poor but not like a zombie that are addicts
I think nowadays living in USA is unaffordable unless your income is 5k USD a month if you go back , unless you have a mortgage free property
Waiting for you .
Just my opinion
I'm a foreigner and happy transplant to Philippines 🇵🇭
Cost of living is my main reason to say don’t return to the US.
Crime and political BS is next haha.
Philippines is wonderful and I really enjoyed my time in Dumaguete earlier this year
It depends on what you are after. If you are single and don't care about corruption, bad health care, a poor educational system then the Philippines is can be ok. The best thing for any Filipino is to become a citizen of another first world country and then have the benefits of both countries. But if you have children, the United States, and other first world countries, is far far far superior. It's not even close.
5k minimum,,our basic costs just to live have risen 7800 usd in 4 years.
@jamesdavis8731 I so agree with this. I'm a filipina living in the US for 20 years now. I am glad we raised our daughter here. She is almost 20 now.
We're good.
Yep, lots of good women to be found if the guy just uses a bit of brain power.

Personally I liked your previous plan to use the Philippines as a base while traveling around the region. A month in the US could be part of that.
For someone living on Social Security + whatever, the States are pretty expensive. Only you can decide about your future medical care.
Baby mae loves you more than anyone I know, I see the way she adores you in every video, doesn't matter where you decide to go ❤
My brother has been married to a Filipina for 40 years in the USA. Sure, they had their ups and downs but overall, a happy marriage. Personally, I've been married and divorced twice during that time ( but not to a Filipina). It's all about finding the right one.
This makes a lot or sense.
There are many factors to be considered
True my wife came over in 1990 and Thank God she didn't change much in the sense of adopting the Western woman ideology. We are both the same age so that is a factor and she prefered to be with certain Filipinas with the same mind set as she so that really helped alot.
A lot of folks don't understand hooking up with someone you like takes luck. It is not something anyone can achieve.
The dating environment and society were not the same in the West 40 years ago. when your brother got married. 90% chance that if you are an older guy with modest means and you bring your younger Filipina to the U.S. nowadays, she is going to ditch you within a few years. There are a gazillion such cases.
What is the age difference/gap between your brother and his Filipina wife?
Good honest views, thanks for keeping it real. Hope to share a coffee some time.
Sounds good!
You are correct about Baby Mae. Nothing to worry about. If she was in her 20s different story. However, the financial stress you would have in the US is reason enough for you not to move back.
You know what you know and you know what you got. Good luck what ever you do.
Paul, all these comments are the best-so diverse! Most make sense! So many different perspectives!
Nice chat. Do what's best for each other and be happy. Thanks and take care.
Come back later, too soon to judge, also keep working until 90 years 😂👍
Overall I’m happy things worked out for you. That’s the main thing
Dont worry she will stick with you. The US will not be good for you, remember why you left in the first place.
GLTA
I agree
I think visiting could be fun but why move back?
Cost of living. Crime. I just don’t see the advantages
My thoughts
Rural America especially the South is still the American Bible Belt! I am a Southeastern Oklahoman.
A totally different world from Los Angeles or San Francisco or New York!
We speak to our neighbors, Love God, stand for the American Flag, cling proudly to our Bibles and Guns!!! (one former Liberal American President criticized us)
Living is cheaper in Rural Oklahoma and many government safety nets if a person's income is low.
Oh too...
Paul knows my plans to soon visit the beautiful Philippines!
may not be good for Paul, doesn’t mean it will not be good for Mae.

I agree with what you said about that 90 day fiance visa. The people that dreamed this up are part of the problem and not part of the solution.😮
90 days is plenty of time
The assumption is that you have spent a decent amount of time with your intended before you apply for the K1. Why would someone apply for a fiance visa without knowing them fully over an extended period of time in person?

You gush with Love… this is priceless 🙏 Paul the provider is coming out to play 😊
@@jane_7777 Good for you Jean, it says alot about you. God bless
Another brilliant video. Such wise words always..you need to write it down..in a book!
If you were still single, I don't think moving back to America would ever cross your mind. But now that your married, making sure Mae is taken care of after you pass has become a factor in the decisions you now make. Where would she want to live when you're gone? That would be the place to own a home.
And owning a home in the Philippines is about 10 times cheaper than it is in the US so that should answer your question.
Mae is a sweetheart but if Paul brings her back to the USA, chances are that he will end up broke and alone. It's just human nature that she will be attracted to younger, wealthier men.
Good analysis, you are extremely pragmatic & an open minded person, keep that laughter coming, its enjoyed in Toronto Canada!!!
This is my thinking too.
Cost of living
Visiting is fine and interesting.
But retire and enjoy the Philippines
@@RetireandGo no no no. If they can afford it, the obvious choice is America. I don't know of one single Filipino that lives in America, and I know a lot, that wants to go back to the Philippines to live. NOT ONE. They might end up going back to retire...maybe...but most do not. The cost of living in the Philippines is cheaper...for sure. But the quality of life. The educational system. The health care system. The opportunities are all FAR better in America and it is not remotely close.
@@jamesdavis8731 these are all good points !
Always enjoy your show Paul...you seem like a Happy Camper...Good for you. Life in Short! Seize the moments we have!! Cheers
I took my Filipina wife to America for one year on a project and she was anxious and happy when we returned to our home in the Philippines.

Lets be honest and real..
You are wise grasshopper! Whatever you do I wish you well!😎
I like baby May having said that don’t move back too america to be miserable
Great, Henderson, Nevada welcomes you.
But those are the ones that whisper in her ear no?
This is sort of funny and actually the truth that it may be better in reverse. My ex wife who I brought to the United States hid from other Vietnamese. She wanted nothing to do with them and only wanted to be another girl in the United States. She did not like how they bragged, chased money and gossiped. This is from a girl who I supported to get a four year nursing degree and she now makes more than most Vietnamese or Americans working as a registered nurse. Sometimes being around others from your country of origin is not the best idea.

When a Filipina loves you it's forever. You will need to find Filipinos in your area. So she will not be lonely. Main problem would be homesick. You know that the west is not all that. Many problems with racism in the west. Politics in the west is nuts now.
Great conversation 👍👍
You hit the jackpot with baby mae!! Enjoy as long as you can!!
Mae would do ok there, she is a one of a kind lady, one of a kind exception. Always very proud of Mae and the ladies.
@RetireandGo
In Paul's case, I believe if he were to move back to America, he would be doing because he probably believes it's in Baby Mae's long term financial interest. It seems to me he is a good hearted guy who, in a way, would probably be sacrificing himself in order to give Mae the economic opportunities available to her America. Paul knows he is much older than Mae and probably wants to give her the opportunities available to her to support herself and her family when he is gone.
@@jamesdavis8731 I’m always surprised how many men are scammed in America by American women.. Guys think with the wrong head sometimes
This comment is generally ALWAYS right ! Stay Paul it’s not recommended ( take it from first hand ✋🏾 experience) G’Luck
The divorce rates initiated by college women are 90%.

I would not take my filipino wife away from her very close family.. that's only my opinion..
Well thought of analysis of your opinion in this matter. I admire your sensibility, Paul. I believe you and Mae are both lucky to have each other. You're a good man! Good topic...I enjoyed your video as always.
Think - why did you move to the Philippines?
To find a lady? Now he's done that, he's free to bring her here. Why not? She will love it and she loves him. It's all good. She's still very young. She could still study to be a nurse if she wants. Mae would make a great nurse.
Well said & done...All the best for you & Mae .
Even if she is deeply loyal, I see no up side to move back to the USA. None, zero. Return to the rate race? Really???
The upside is Mae would have the benefits of US citizenship and even if she returned to the Philippines having dual citizenship is a huge advantage.
I agree with your whole Philosophy on relationships. Good Communication of your thoughts.
What up Paul, just being together and being happy is the main thing where ever you are , Youl take care
There are some exceptions to the rule but the exception doesn't make the rule
To many temptations 😢 buddy. you in the Philippines and the women looking at you🤔now you in America the men are looking at her🤨 use your best judgement buddy.
I think getting her dual citizenship would be a huge advantage. If what your worried about is her future, Paul she needs 10 years with you and she will get your benefits when she is old enough to retire. If there is some kind of issues security wise down the road in the Philippines she will be evacuated. It’s good to have options, but you met her there, your gifts were received there, and you know that this isn’t the same America, that’s why you’re there.
Take her to the USA? To stay? To live? No, nope, no way. Big mistake! Don't do it.....
Definitely disagree. Bring her here Paul, she will love it. You've found your lady, what's to keep you there?
You are thinking visit but no moving back just like me. That’s the best I think
But, it depends on many things.
I say stay in the Philippines but maybe visit family in the US
@@sandrabentley8111 You have completely missed the point...
Baby Mae. Know you realy love her. That's the key to your marriage. Where ever you go she will follow you. Knowing your marriage is true. God Bless
Start the process now brother Chu and I’ve been working on it almost 2 years. Our visa is approved but waiting on interview.
You are amazing with wisdom and understanding.
