    I installed these on my 2008 crv today and this was very helpful. I had no issue installing them over the rubber boots. The drivers side installation requires removal of all 3 10mm bolts supporting the fuse box so it can be pulled out of the way to install the LED. This sounds easier than it is due to the close spacing and sharp edges in that area. If you drop any bolts or tools during that process, they end up inside the splash guard under the engine which must be removed to retrieve them (guess how I know). That said, the LED is many times brighter than even an upgraded halogen bulb. The lights on this model were never that good, even when new, so it is a worthwhile safety upgrade.

    This video inspired an install of led bulbs in my 2008 CRV.
    BIG CAUTION - As Brandon Smith said 3 years ago, installation of the Sealight led bulb on the driver side of a 2008 CRV is much more difficult than the passenger side. This video shows install on the easy passenger side. For me, the driver side difficulty arose because the Sealight LED bulb [X1 - H4 - 9003] is significantly longer than the OEM halogen bulb.
    As Brandon notes, to make the driver side install possible, you can unclip the fuse box (which is just behind the driver side headlamp). You don't (and can't easily) remove the fuse box. Rather, unclipping it gives you just enough play under the fuse box to move to the next step.
    With the fuse box slightly moveable, then you can remove two 10mm bolts holding one of the fuse box brackets, which is mounted to the driver side interior of the engine bay. One bolt has its head facing up, the 2nd bolt has its head facing the center of the engine bay.
    Only with the removal of the bracket held by those 2 bolts could I properly insert the Sealight led bulb into the driver side housing. And then, of course, ya gotta re-mount the fuse box bracket with the two 10mm bolts, re-clip the fuse box.
    Brandon says this process makes the installation "a breeze." Personally, I found the process to be time-consuming and tiresome at every turn. Likely, Brandon is more skilled and patient than am I. IF you can find led replacement bulbs close to the size of the OEM bulbs, you may be able to avoid this ordeal.
    As ever and always, jiggle your fuse box, mess with your headlights, remove and install brackets in your engine bay, and mess with your car's electrical system based on your own skills and at your own risk. Always good to know when you/re moving beyond your personal knowledge and skill. That's when you should stop, of course!

    For the ones asking about the rubber boot, they go on before the light is installed. As for the driver side it is a little difficult but if you unclip the fuse box and move out of the way carefully then take out the two 10mm bolts holding the bracket below it makes installation a breeze.

    I was happy to come across this video. I bought a Sealight LED conversion kit for my 2007 CR-V. After reading the comments, especially the one about the rubber boot, I decided to try and put the boot on, then install the lamp. I couldn't get the lamp to fully seat. So, I ended up trimming off some of the boot and that took care of it. Hope it keeps enough of the water out. Better than no boot at all, I thought.

    FYI these headlights are almost impossible to install. You have to put the rubber boot back on then install the headlight. For me to install the driver side headlight I had to lift up and raise the fuse box behind the light and bend back the metal piece just to get the bulb in. Very difficult. This video is good at showing the difference but not good at showing a full install on the 2008 Honda CRV. Thanks for the few tips though!

    You need to answer the questions about the daytime running lights. I suspect the LED bulbs you installed cause the daytime running lights to flicker, deeming the entire install useless. Removing the daytime running light fuse is not an adequate fix as daytime running lights are implemented for safety and should not be disabled.

    • @John_V.
      @John_V. 2 роки тому

We wouldn't want your sister's boyfriend's stepmother's new boyfriend Lance, who happens to work in law enforcement to turn you in to the local judge because you unplugged your DRL. It is not a seatbelt bruh. It is perfectly fine to drive without it. Many vehicles do not come eqipped with DRL anyway.
      And let's just say that they were mandatory. And disabling them was a fucking A1 Felony carrying the same, if not stiffer penalty then, uhm, lets say homicide. (You probably enjoyed reading that word huh, stiffer!?)
      Anyway, here you are, with this disabled, mandatory life saving device, and getting caught without your DRL can have you facing life behind bars? Is Lance the officer really going to ask you for your keys everytime he sees you to verify if your DRL are functioning or not?
      Seriously? Like wtf kind of lives are you guys living? Try growing a backbone and doing what you want. Too many simple Toms just doodling their day by happy just to make some other fuck happy. Ask your cop-in-law permission first and proceed to pound her once he has given you the "all clear."

  • @msbrownbeast
    @msbrownbeast 6 місяців тому

    The high beam intensity on the 2008 CRV is inadequate due to poor design. Most cars use 2 energized filaments on each side with the high beam on because they use a separate high beam bulb/lamp. The CRV uses one single twin filament bulb on each side that alternates
    from one filament to the other (low or high beam). So while the low beam illumination is OK, the high beam is totally inadequate, like taking the low beam and aiming it further out. Even with the LED upgrade, the increased illumination on the high beam is at best equal to a regular halogen-equipped car with a 4-lamp system.
