I’m a KF fanatic. I bought the game off tiny game store within a week of it coming out. Just liked the box art and it looked like a first person Zelda which is a dream. I thought the statue Seath and neck were required to snatch the Moonlight sword. You mentioned it does not work in a pit/ocean and revives you immediately. I believe it but does the Dragon Fruit-Crystal let you keep picked up items and progress like XP. It makes sense that it does. All you need is a dragon crystal to swipe the Moonlight sword.. wow. I thought it was way cooler that you needed the necklace and statue. Then the second statue has to be used in the mine to save the dad. Did not know the statue respawns if you have none either. I’ve played through over 30 times over years. It was extremely difficult and foreboding when I played it pre-FF7 days. Now I destroy it by running past and picking up armor and weapons quickly. Then get heal spell bound to Select button and it’s very unlikely I would die. Another interesting thing is that when I had high school internet and good old GMeFAQs text based guides I scoured everything. Saw Spider sword but nobody listed where it dropped and believed it was just something gleamed from promo video or a screenshot. Then I finally, 20 years later, found a guide that told me the dinosaurs drop it. Crazy to me. Totally believed it was just a myth.
Good ol' Slippy review. I found your channel a few months ago now I think, and you've fantastically reviewed some games that I either already knew of, or now have an interest in when I wouldn't have otherwise. Hoping that your channel will continue to grow!
You sound young. Nothing makes me happier than a zoomer who isn't put off of PS1 games by their "old" graphics. I've subbed. Keep it up, bro. I really liked this and your King's Field 1 videos. by the way, not trying to be an asshole but rather a friendly correction: "niche" is pronounced "neetsh," not "Nietzsche/neechy." Other people on the internet might not be as nice as me about that word, just so you know. Otherwise, I have no other corrections! Solid video. Again, good work and I hope to see you stick with this level of quality and grow as a channel to having a larger audience. Glad to have found you before you turn into a UA-cam celebrity ;)
I literally finished playing this game for the first time yesterday. I beat King's Field 1 a few days ago and am now playing King's Field 3, then I found your channel and watched your KF1 and now 2 review. I'll be sure to watch your KF3 review once you do it and I've finished the game. A very nietzsche game series but I'm loving it so far.
Going for Shadow Tower afterwards? I've never played a King's Field before but they look genuinely more fun then Shadow Tower (I've gone through half the game - it's hard)
@@terrygoudreault3693 I did beat Shadow Tower afterwards yeah, it was alright but I didn't like it nearly as much as KF123. I haven't played KF4 or Shadow Tower Abyss yet.
Yea I got King's Field II (King's Field III in Japan) as a launch title, along with Battle Arena Toshinden, the same christmas I got my PS1. My mother didn't know what to get so she picked a game at random. I feel like the Gods guided her hand cause I played this game to death. THANKS MA!
Just finished playing the first 3 of these this week, I actually loved all of them. This one is probably my favorite. It was so fun not knowing anything about these titles, going in and reading their respective manuals, then playing through. Honestly, I've heard people say these are obtusely designed, so I was expecting a lot of obscure stuff that would halt my progress, but I actually found that the open ended metroidvania exploration here is for the most part incredibly well designed. I only had to use an outside source once in this game, and that was when I got softlocked by falling into a cave lol. Had no MP so I couldn't teleport out, but other than that the games all gave me enough information that I could figure out or discover something new just by exploring. Also, I played The Ancient City for about 50 minutes and just had to stop though, the walk speed being so slow completely ruined that game compared to these 3. Also, currently I'm trying some casual speedrunning of this game, it's probably my favorite of the 3, and the speedrun is surprisingly pretty fun.
I will never understand why UA-cam just decides if I would be interested in a video or not. I SUBSCRIBED TO THIS CHANNEL WITH NOTIFICATIONS! SHOW ME WHEN THERE IS A NEW UPLOAD! Instead, the my recommended videos are trash if not broken and I come back thinking I'll rewatch some of your older videos to see several new uploads. Nice vid btw!
"Thanks, pal", another great review, really dig your presentation and style of review. Especially when some people have different things they like or dislike about those games. Hoping you'll do King's Field 3 review as well, and remember kids: it always helps to have some spare crystal flasks filled with good ol' pi--healing water.
It's more like one big dungeon with pockets of safe areas, and some completely outdoor sections King's Field 3 has a largely hostile overworld with discrete dungeons and towns
Will we get your review of Lunacid? You mentioned about it in King Field 1 video but it would cool to see it full. Love your content, keep up the good work
Steam has a free multiplayer game that looks exactly like this called Meridian 59. I concentrate a lot of my efforts into old school 3-d, personally I could make something even better that would look like a mmo Heretic to be honest.
Archery makes no sense in single combat it was efective in mass in mid to close ranges pelting enemys with thousands of arows These archers were protected by spikes and pikemen and other forces but rpgs just gi e the ppayer tons of hp or superspeed to be able to kite and or take blows from enemys
My first Fromsoft game. Back in 96. Oh god.
Yeaah

Any man who is into harpsichords is a man of impeccable taste
Your reviews are really great. I can definitely see you spent time polishing the editing. Also I love your little ironic jokes .

Between "Neech-e" and "mehlay" lol
The photos in the BG of the story section are sending me!

Next Eternal Ring? 😅

Why does the manual have photos of half naked men who look like Freddy Mercury or Don Frye? 😂
I really like the stats at the end.

You can run in ancient city. Just hold x while moving forward. Ancient city is incredible man...
Not sure that was a harpsichord there

Great review bro! Keep it up!
How does the character know that? Obviously each item comes with a lore tag hanging from it.
Great review and comedy btw, loved that little review of the review at the end.
Man, I LOVE the soundtrack.
Also great review man. I'll sub for sure
I dont think Ive ever seen that bell item ever, or I just blanked it out of my memory

Odd youve only got 500 subscribers. Quality content, your voice/delivery isn't obnoxious or annoying, great selection of games covered. How odd.
I apologize for this but niche is pronounced "neesh" and melee is "maylay" at least in English. Liked the video though
Bro this is awesome please do king's field 2 on ps2
Does this have an overworld and dungeons world structure?
It's more like one big dungeon with pockets of safe areas, and some completely outdoor sections
King's Field 3 has a largely hostile overworld with discrete dungeons and towns
Thanks!
Does top tier water really need to be "gold" ? I will go ahead and pretend it's beer instead of the alternative.
Are those background pics from the cast of Catalina?! lol
Just finished this late last year. Loved it!
Nicely done! I look forward to your King's Field 3 review in August. 😂
i'm working as fast as i can, dad

Thank you for reviewing these gems! Are you going to review more old Fromsoft games?:)
Absolutely, my friend
@@Slippybro I am stoked! Excited to see more from you! The reviews are very insightful into the game worlds. Thank you for all your hard work!^-^
went through this whole game thinking i could only use magic crystals at guideposts
another banger
Good stuff man! Keep it up
that was a well made review good job
i dont recall this game have the sword art (magic) thing ??
Yeah, all four games have sword magic; it just has different requirements to unlock it in each game
This is absolutely hilarious.
Thank you so much.
First time I was bothered, by the third time I realized it's a joke - good show, good video
You can kill krakens without killing the body. Just aim your attack at the eyes/ face.
Well, it does rhyme with "sheesh."
20:52 Hey, what were the titles and band names of the three albums in the middle here? I can read the outer two but not the middle three. Thanks.
Skylark, Morifade, and Shadows of Steel
The albums are Divine Gates Part I: Gate of Hell, Possession of Power, and Twilight, respectively
@@Slippybro Awesome! Thanks.
Great review man
Im back for some bings bield
