I will never get sick of your family oriented opal cutting, THANK YOU GUYS. My 'rats' love watching too!
This was posted over a year ago but I will say I'm in Michigan. I love opals. I'm a rock lover deep down. If I had been able to pick any job and school I would have loved to become a gemologist. I love everything about gems. Where they are from, how they are formed, why they are the color they are, ect. Opals have a soft spot in my heart. All the colors, the different types, the ups and downs, incredible. Thank you for the style of channel you have. So impressive.
I feel the same, Linda, amazing stuff. A big thanks to Justin for sharing his journey, his is one of my favourite YtT Channels, for sure. I'm Going In!
Greetings from the North of Germany! And thanks a lot for your charing the Opal world🤗!
I have been watching you for many months and I love your work. Darrin from fredericton NB. Canada
All the way from a lebanese living in Didim Turkey !
Thank you for showing us all the beautiful opal you cut today . All the advise , tips, and some luck involved . Your truly a Master of Opal! Can’t wait to escape from reality , please cut more often!!
California... Breathing the inferno we have :-( So bummed I missed the live video dang it. Welcome Tameka. So funny when you said "Happy Opal". It made me think of Bob Ross the painter. 😁
What's up opal people. Hey Justin!!! The almost script pattern stone is amazing. Can't wait to see them shine. Much love from California 😎🤙 Welcome Tamika....!!!!
Yo Melinda. What's happening 💎
Thanks to you guys I enrolled into lapidary here in the Netherlands! Fell in love with this craft! 🙏🏽🥳
Hi Tamika. (hope I spelled that correctly). Welcome to the mad house of Black Opal Direct. Justin goes a little crazy sometimes, which is highly entertaining but if you're any good at
dancing, then maybe you could teach him a few moves.
Haha
I totally love watching your videos here. In Canada 🇨🇦
Great session. I appreciate such enthusiasm even after years of cutting opal. Definitely a mood lifter.
those blue ghosts just delight me, entrance me. I know you call them watery and possibly it's not the most desirable type of color play, I adore it. Esp. when it is over the color on color play. That 3rd, large surprise gem is just to die for!
Happy opals!!!! Feels like I'm watching the Bob Ross of opals sometimes...
All the Bob Ross comments...same.
lol 🙏
ARGH I missed the live stream as usual!! Well, I'm glad you love Canada, Canada loves you too! I'll settle in and enjoy the replay over dinner. :-D
Love your channel! We definitely need more Tamica!!
Simon from Oxford England. Think your show is amazing, been hooked from the first time I watched. The fun and very informative way you present your show Justin is what keeps me watching. Thankyou and keep up the good work.

Oh so happy to have a new video! How exciting! You made my day Justin!
Absolutely favorite uploads for the past 6+ years in Idaho. 1 request Justin. Can we get an in depth break down on the value of rough, and what you generally expect on the secondary market for rough. Parcels and singles. Even if not, more videos, Cheers!
Im Colleen from New Zealand and so enjoy your wisdom and commentary. Its lovely to listen to you. TY
Thanks Colleen

Darn missed the live. Shame about the first one not working out but glad to see it got better from there! Beautiful job as usual and welcome to Tamika!
I love when you get these beautiful stones. I would love to get a chance to cut opel one day. But until then I will experience it through you. I have always loved pretty rocks, and I really must say, black opal take the cake.
Hey, welcome Tamika, from southern Oklahoma, which is in the south-central region of the US!
You got me into Opals and I have been practicing on ethiopian ones with a dremmel, I am proud to say i just put a $300 down payment on a cab machine today!!! Only $2,000 more to go before I have it but I’m closer than I was yesterday lol
Sweet well done
Took a few days to get to you but oh my lord it was worth the wait. What a stunning session that was. Look forward to seeing the gems all polished up and gleaming. Thanks for sharing.
I like the last little stone too and perhaps it can become a little cat eye charm! Sometimes imperfections can become something just special! I wish your daughter good luck...and it's good to follow your passion in life! Love, Susanne.
Southern part of Denmark. Apparently not the only dane watching your videos. Looking so forward to see beautiful opals 😍
This is great. I'm loving this guy. Hello Tamika.
Justin I am going to set myself up to cut the opal and make jewelry this year! You inspired me and can't wait to show you my ideas one day!
That is awesome!

Nail biting video! I get so frustrated when you don't listen to me! hahahahaha! as if I know more about opal than you. Oh me. Gosh I am soooo grateful to you for making a bright spot in my life when you come on. You just can't know.
Sorry hahah
@@blackopaldirect That was just one of the most enjoyable and exciting sessions we've had in a while. I honestly live for your video releases. :)
Sorry but I was asleep here 5 hours ago when the live started but I'm watching it now when the clock is almost 7 AM in the morning here in Sweden! Thank you Justin and Tamika as well as all others on Black Opal Direct ! Hugs, Susanne. P.s Happy to see that you had good luck!
When you talked about Dan H. I felt all warm n fuzzy… My favorite guy likes my other favorite guy 😆 I recently bought my own Cab making set up😉 (also have some of Dan’s Ocean Blue picture stone in my shop)❣️🥰❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
such a pretty stone/gem, awesome work
Sweden alive and kicking, Justin😄
Alltid kul och intressant💯💥
Thanks to the Opal Master Boss once again. And welcome new lady. I opened the live broadcast and ten seconds later the first of five trucks came for me to unload ....🥴🥴🥴
I hate that I missed the live stream. That last one, I was thinking, " stop stop, OK, just a little bit more"😂 exciting.😊
Love watching you cut opal thumbs up from Ireland
Thank you! Cheers!
This is fascinating! First time watching a Lapidary at work!!
Great video Justin!! Thanks!!
About time you had some luck, and hello Tamika, welcome to Justin’s mad house.
Very cool man... I liked the very last one ya cut even tho it still had some potch in it kinda looks like a cats eye..
Anyways from NZ Cheers mate.
There was a flash of green on the white potch side of your first stone I could just see. Might have been a reflection though??
Love your show and your team and your generosity is amazing thank You so much for sharing your wonderful journey with us all! God Bless you and yours brother!
This is a Really Great and Educational Show, Really. 🙂 ✌
I love your videos!! Your personality is amazing! As well as your work!
In your short gem description videos, why don't you give the values?
And are those from Lightening Ridge ones you cut?
Hi Justin, For reasons I won't go into, I started binge watching opal mining videos about 3 weeks ago that, to follow, brought me to watching your videos, both very soothing for different reasons, so thank you for sharing your skills with us. Please know that I am aware what I'm about to say comes from my know nothing mind...lol... to the point...
The last stone you cut, it looked to me that you could have gotten 3 clean stones the same size as your final stone with the black in it if you had stopped trying to take it out and cut it while you had all the color instead of grinding the sides off... Is this just one of the chances you take or was there a "rules of cutting" that you follow?
Again, I am truly enjoying learning about opals with you, thank you and God bless you and yours.
What an amazing job!
I love the little green gem. Wish I could afford to buy it.
That opal at 20 minutes is AMAZING!!! WHAT LUCK!
It really is! thank you
Love the chaff pattern in the 4th stone, so interesting
Beautiful stones😍
South Carolina, USA love 2 watch you are very talented
That last little round, , looks like a "cat" eye! amazing
It looked like a love heart at one point
It somehow reminds me of The Eye of Sauron. Beautiful piece!
If you can't get the last sliver of black potch out of that last small stone, keep it and polish. It's a dragon's eye and will be spectacular!
good idea
California
You're Killin me smalls!!
Favorite show
Looking forward to the polishing of those stones.
Hey guys.....greetings from Northern Ireland!!
Hell yeah, 👍 awesome thanks for the adrenaline rushes.
I love your content. I’m new to opal cutting, here in USA, northwest Indiana. I’m cutting all my opals with a Drexel, sharpening stone and wet dry sandpaper, any suggestions on cut direction on stones, some look good but when I’m done not so much? Thanks
RE: Romper Room mirror. There was no mirror in that thing she was holding - that’s the genius of the entire show.
omg the last stone hurt me physically to watch it get ground away!
Beautiful, but where are the red stones? You did them quietly?
The Ocean Picture Stone that Dan Hurd mines is a form Calcedony, not opal. The opal we do get here in BC is nothing like what Justin gets in Oz.
Hello from Florida
Hey I know digger Dan hurd

Just wanted to pop in. Arkansas US quartz country. Wanted to suggest epoxy casting for thin fragile cuts. Works well with quartz here.
Thank so much for a wonderful video you inspire lots of people and describe it so well my girlfriend was asking if any pieces would ever be for sale ?
Yes they will be next week
San antonio Texas 9kie says HELLO❣ LOVE YOUR VIDEOS❤
Quite enjoyed the stream. One thing I wonder about, isn't there a solvent that would dissolve everything but the color, that would make it easier to cut? If they are made out of different substances or even if its the same but in a different form, crystalline for example, it should be possible to dissolve everything but what you want. I should buy some rough and see if I can make a solution...
The team is on a hot streak! 😃
Holidays in the Bedroom. Why not? If you not always alone😉. LG from Vienna. 😁
😁✌ I Really Love This Show
So, how often does a feller have to charge up those electric rocks to get 'em to light up like that?😉
That last one done looks like a cats eye with the slither black Line. Unique!!
Hey man
A quick question... Have you ever heard of anyone performing an MRI on a piece of rough opal in order to see the layers clearly? I do understand that this process would be too expensive to perform on all pieces, but it would be interesting if it worked to help you better identify the optimal way to face a stone...
I wondered the same thing!
Love your videos! And Beaverton Oregon!
Awesome! Thank you!
Can we "pre purchase" any of these pieces? That second gem you turned into an amazing piece that caught my eye
Rolex watched for new watched sample urgent to see ok
I've been looking for a couple of pieces of your equipment. Do you have links for your gem flashlight? I'm also interested in your "grinder", it looks from the videos that it is a "Gemmasta", but I can't seem to find it either. Thank you in advance if you can assist! Ron
Wow, that opal lifestyle. Surrounded by beautiful women.
Yes we can hear you !!
I was literally just thinking it reminded me of the script just as you said it.
nice job thank you for sharing.
Do you rush the stones a bit for the lives, or is this a normal cutting pace? It seems that only recently you've done a lot more on the 90 or 120 grit...
I do a little yes with 1500 people watching so I can make mistakes
Got ya. I appreciate the process.
For me at least I'd say: Don't push for the color. Your channel (and your business I assume) has been built on taking the time to find the best possible stone out of a rough piece.
Don't let the current few minute attention span change the way you find beauty.
Happy Opal
