+Roderik031 Uh, you played him for the majority of the time. Streets of Mombasa don't count as the Rookie mission. Data Hive does. You also can play as Spartan Buck full time in this game. Basically, ODST WAS the Buck game. It would be strange seeing him by himself.
Nathan is an absolute class act, but also a great actor. I always wanted a sequel to ODST. A story that further dove into the Buck/Dare story. But with him being a Spartan now I guess that it will have to stay just a wish... A hopeful dream, sigh*
There was a lot of exposition in Guardians but not enough character development, especially for Locke. Thorne would have been a good replacement for him because we knew where he came from and there was sympathy for him and what happened to his family. For Locke, there was no emotion, no background for him, not even in the Nightfall series. No reason for him to be the main character other than for diversity.
In halo they should add water vehicles and make vehicles that can go on the ground and in the air or a ground/water vehicle or a water/ air vehicle and a ground/water/air vehicle. They should also make it so you can swim for a while, but will eventually tire out and drown, and make a armor ability that aloud you to walk underwater, but you will die if you go to deep because of the water pressure
Attn Bonnie Ross & 343: From a story, plot and character development standpoint, your Halo 5 release is an embarassing failure! The entire gameplay basically serves as an advertisement for a Halo 6. All of the new characters and events in Halo 5 could have been introduced and developed in a cut-scene film like Halo Spartan Ops. Also, the fact that Master Chief only appears in three missions indicates that your Halo 5 may have been better off released as an in-between game like Halo ODST and Halo Reach that would have only featured Spartan Locke and his team on their own mission. All of the trailers that were released leading up to Halo 5 were completely misleading and there was no connection or continuity between those releases and what we actually saw play out in the game release! Did none of you at 343 and the creative writing team consider or care about the story, plot and characters?! I could have written a better Halo 5 plot and story on the back of a napkin!
SPOILER: Buck made it OK for me that you only play as Blue Team (Master Chief) for 3 missions. I just hope 6 has more Chief. However, with the way the story unfolded, I don't see how it wouldn't shift mostly or entirely back to Chief.
In your opinion. I personally loved the over arching story. The moment to moment telling could've been better but the narrative itself was great, in my opinion.
They got too focused on having a black guy and female leads in a franchise that the story took a huge hit. People buy Halo to be master chief. Not chase him. I'm a huge fan of the Halo universe but reading he reviews made me glad I didn't pre-order. I'll be waiting for the price to drop.
+Thomas Price I think if they actually stuck to the marketing and had a chase/ mystery for more than the first four missions, and not the totally desperately undeveloped story arc that it had, it would've been good. Chief mourning, going on his mission, and Locke trying to hunt him down, etc. I'm assuming you haven't played so I won't spoil, but it just left me so unsatisfied. They could've really done something here and made an impact and the story just wasn't there.
Spartan Buck diserves his own game in the franchise!!!!
Yes. know what his story is
He did... Its called Halo 3:ODST.
Dodger546 but you don't play as Buck all game... 😜. And now Buck is a Spartan.

"Halo has always been about co op"
**proceeds to remove splitscreen from the game**
It's always great to get the behind the scenes perspective of all the writers, producers and actors. Great presentation and awesome discussion points.

All these people working with Halo 5's story and it was still a failure.
