While I really enjoyed the Novablast 2& 3, I found the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 to be just a better overall shoe for everyday training. With that said the Novablast line is a great shoe to have in the rotation. Thanks for the content, have a great week….
Do you get a hot spot on that ball of your feet sometimes? At higher pace and on longer efforts?
@@SimonSez83 Wow, that interesting “ I do get a hot spot in the ball of my foot” often after 5 or 6 miles into my run. Hence why I’ve moved onto other shoes and the hot spot is not prevalent.
@expatadventureturkey9324 yup. It seems to be the case for a lot of people. I manage it by going mid foot to almost heel strike. 5th to 6th mile and as well. My feet are adapting but it's still not a repeat buy for me. I have been looking for a replacement ever since. Triumph 21 maybe? 1080v13 was way too soft.
Good video. Novablast (or any ASICS) have been a problem for my feet since long. I had terrible aches in my right foot on both Nimbus and Novablasts.. I wish I could rock these shoes.
I wish with they make a low drop ff blast+ shoe, Dynablast could be that but they won't do it
Outsole and upper look improved. I'm wondering how that big heel will feel for a solid mid foot striker.
Apparently it’s the same stack height as last year they just included the outsole and insole now
Thanks for your perspective. Still too unstable for me it sounds. No worries we have the Saucony Tempus as our Novablast. And at least ASICS did good with the GT 2000!! Still hate ASICS for not making a size 14 in their fast shoes. Did I mention that yet?
We’ll pass a note along. No promises, but you never know. :)
Also a Tempus lover! Ran my first marathon in it. Hoping they make a v2!
The Novablast-3 is a difficult shoe for me. I can't use it as a daily-training because it bounces a lot, so I go too fast. and when I try to run slow, it just makes a cracking noise and no feel cushioning.
(however It's good for faster intervals/tempo training for me)
Same width as nb3? NB3 are way too big tts yet still narrow, such weird sizing quirks with Asics shoes.
loved the novablast 1s, hated the 2s, didn't bother with the 3s, unsure about the 4s.
I am allergic to shoes that make my feet slap the ground fast / hard. Novablast 3 was a disappointment because of the foot slapping. I understand that the big heel Bevel is the reason why I get forefoot foot slapping..
Looks exactly the same as the 3
The Novablast 2 was perfect. The 3 was a disappointment and it sounds like the 4 is an even further departure 👎🏼
What were you disappointed about ?
EvoRide Speed gets overlooked time and time again, and they just released a version 2!
Is it better than hoka mach 6? Can you compare? Thank you😊
Wow that came out if the blue. Ive seen the leaks, but this is sooner than expected 😅
Thanks for the overview, really excited to see this shoe.
Is it stable enough to be considered stable neutral?
I think not. Still neutral
Any improvement of traction in wet conditions compared to v3?
We’ll have a better answer in our written review later. There’s some rain this week. It’s dry lately 🥵
Will there be a “trail” version? The 3’s trail version is great in the rain.
Just did a rainy/snowy run in them. I didn't have any problems.
Is the sole AHAR or AHAR +?
AHAR “LO,” a low density version is how they describe it.
How do these complement superblast?
I watched many of your shoes review they were great however I have one request if you can include the weight in grams as well. Tks so much, really appreciated if you do.
Will try to get that addition in video. It is listed in today’s description though
Hi Matt,
Is the NB 4 shoe suitable for standing and all day wear?
Thank you.
@@revivalist70 it could be but the nimbus may be a better option!
@@DoctorsofRunning
Noted.
Thank you
Have you tried this for tempo and fartlek run?
Yes. Both are ok. It is a lightweight trainer, so it can handle those. Fartleks feel a little better wax I tend to get a bit more on my midfoot, which gets the slightly clunky heel out of the way.
Hi Matt, what do you think about heel counters for people with Haglund deformity?
Check out this feature on the site for Matt’s thoughts: www.doctorsofrunning.com/2023/01/running-shoes-for-people-with-haglunds.html
Thanks I know that link.. I’m Asking about Novablast 4 if that shoes could be ok for deformity
Hi, is it good for people who has pronation?
I have it... Have heavy pronation on right ankle... Felt great despite pronation...
This vs Superblast?
If you’re looking for an easy miles trainer this is good for the pricepoint. If you want a shoe that does both workouts and training, Superblast.
Hi, Thanks for the review...Is it stable?
Yes
Could this be a good alternative to the Glideride 3? 😢 My pair are almost at the end of their life and I need something similar because of my hallux rigidus.
I do not think so. A better alternative should be Puma Deviate Nitro 2. More versátil and similar feeling.
I also heel strike and tend to have issues with my tibialis anterior and ankle muscles. Would you recommend any daily trainers to lessen that issue? Thanks!
Asics Gel-Nimbus or the Cumulus. You’d want cushion with around 7-8mm drop. I’m a heel striker too.
Big chunky shoe, no good for faster stuff. So basically just ANOTHER cushioned cruiser.
