    Cavatelli with chickpeas and mussels are a very tasty dish that tickles everyone's palate. This special shape of pasta is one of the most loved of the fresh ones and goes well with many types of sauces. They are perfect with vegetables, fish or meat. In this first course with mussels, however, I wanted to combine them with some ingredients from the land and others from the sea. Chickpeas go perfectly with seafood and the result is always highly appreciated. Cavatelli are a pasta shape that was born from the skilled hands of Apulian pasta makers and in fact they look a bit like orecchiette, only that they are thicker like gnocchetti.
    They are very easy to find both in fresh pasta shops and in the supermarket.
    I always like to combine ingredients of different origins. Chickpeas and legumes, in general, having a very neutral taste, create an excellent combination with the flavor of the mussels. In fact, one of the most classic combinations is pasta and beans with mussels, but I'll tell you... mussels are great with chickpeas too!
    If you want to impress your diners or simply prepare a rustic and very good dish for you, this is the recipe for you.
    ► Ingredients to prepare chickpeas and mussels cavatelli:
    Cavatelli 400 g
    Mussels 1 kg
    Precooked chickpeas 300 g
    Peeled tomatoes 600 g
    Garlic 2 cloves
    Parsley 1 bunch
    Basil 1 sprig
    Hot peppers 1
    EVO oil 5 tbsp
    Salt to taste
