Drilling into brick was a little more of a challenge (mortar was easy) but took less then 15 minutes to install it (not counting recharging the battery to the drill). I eventually went to a corded drill (had to go get it) to save time getting deep enough into the brick. Looks and works great.

@@AimeeStClaire63 those are the old bells wiring. If you look close they have wire nuts on the wires capping them from being live or used. But this video is showing the battery version for sure

@@msrmhaskinsthere’s two versions of this product. One replacing an existing doorbell (wired), and one you can install on any part of your wall that has rechargeable batteries that require no wiring.
@@msrmhaskins go with the one that is wireless or has both options so that you can use battery only just in case of a power outage.
We used to get so many sales people during the warmer days even with a no soliciting sign on the door.
Installing this has stopped them completely.

Question: I just installed my RING 3 wirelessly yesterday morning . How can I get alerts to my iPhone when there is a person detected, instead of just an alert within the RING app? I thought my iPhone would sound some kind of tone/alert when motion or a person was detected?
We're not sure about that. We just get alerts through the Ring app which sends notifications to our phones.
I think you go to your phone settings and find the ring app and click on it and then it’ll ask for permission to send notifications and you click yes. I might be wrong but I think that’s how u do it.

Haha, that is an option, but you can also just recharge it. Charge lasts about 6 months and we usually recharge ours overnight and plug it back in in the morning.
Yea and you also need the bell box thingy otherwise you’ll need to have it connect it to a phone all the time

Ring doorbell will not work you’ll see and they will charge you money for something that doesn’t work

You have to buy a separate in home chime. Or you can connect it to another device Echo or the Google one.
The Ring app will notify you when someone is at the door and additionally you can connect it to your smart speaker to act as a chime.

How do I change the battery in it though?
The battery is rechargeable. All you have to do is remove the device and plug it in using the chord that comes with it. We usually recharge ours every 6 months.

Yes, but it’s very simple as it comes with its own custom screwdriver that makes it easy to take off and reattach to the base once charged.

Your best bet is to put it on a wall. This will ensure when someone rings the device it doesn’t tip over and will also prevent the theft of your device. Thanks for the great question!
