I love how much fun these two are having. The fact that the top 2 players in the world are so wholesome and have some much banter makes the AoE2 community amazing.
being rivals AND being able to have fun together same time is commendable. 🤟
I think that hera-viper content has the single greatest shot at really expanding the aoe2 community of any content out there. The two best players with good, wholesome banter make for a great representation of what aoe2 can be.

Holy cow, I have always watched AoE caster's stream (Mario Ovalle) when TheViper was playing any tournament, but never watched him play, the speed is insane !!!

Is 2v6 possible at the level the opponents are it? It’ll be crazy if you both pull it off even it happens only once
It's possible... _if_ they make mistakes which results in large number of avoidable losses.
I was thinking if the opponents decided to do a Cumans All-in Feudal... all the Cuman player needs to do is get a couple of rams out to destroy walls for the raiding parties to get in, and use the rams to take out the TC.
Cuman Siege + Archers + Cav/Eagles... and one player is out of the game. Even if the Cuman player is delayed a bit, their sacrifice (just prepare ram pushes) can still help against the last remaining player.

That was fun content, and I love the natural analysis of them being not low-level enough to get beaten 6v2 without any ego concerns. Proves you're such a nice player and that's why we love the aoe2 community

I think goths + gujaras/hindustanis will be a great combo, camels will deal with cavs/ca's and goth champ or huskarl to deal with pikes or archers and can also raid
sometimes in between all the memeing with dravidians and the competition in tournaments its easy to forget all the top players are really good friends as well, not just the guys from the same team, great aspect of the aoe community
"really good friends" ? That's pushing it by a mile. Go check vod of last 2 LAN events and I'm not talking mainstream ones. There's a reason a few pros quit after that (or were forced to).

It seems like one of you should have gone fast castle into a siege push. Maybe viper should have made a siege workshop on hera's side to help the ca push and really kill enemies rather than just slow them down (granted, orange was already kinda dead for a while). But, I dunno. 2v6 is not good odds with how capable the other players are.
I can' go fast like that even with 4 arms or 2 mousepads, Respect Guys from Belgium
Next time you do a 2v6 put the population limit to 500. I think pros will have faster unit production efficiency than the intermediate players, so I suppose it will balance things until late/late game.

It would hurt Aoe overall it’s better this way that there is actual competition.

If they'd both focused on attacking 1 player early one, then both focused on another, they might've done better.
2v4 or 2v5 might be more tangible 🤔
I guess it was a mistake for them both to tech switch, they needed to build up momentum, get rams out and start crushing bases faster.
I wonder if cuman would be better option for Viper too, for better mobility with the lancers and getting capped ram on the field fast, extra TC would help protect him at home too.
Also red being completely untouched seemed like a problem.
Red was a mongol player,hard to dealt with. 2 vs 6 always very tough whomever its play against.They always have backup and so.and 6players cover a large area also had lots resource..plus much of these players played over thousands games so they are pretty strong too
The number of games doesn't matter as much as the elo (which, they all seem to be at a very competent level, 1000-1100). Besides that, mongols don't get special until castle age, and he never had the chance to make SO before the game was decided. If he had lost, say, 3 vils in fedual that would have delayed him a bit, which would have definitely helped (though, there's no telling how successful feudal raiding against him would have been)@@blackgoku2023

It seems their game plan was leave Hera alone and hit Viper.
Maybe. I thought they split pretty evenly, three on viper and three on hera. But hera was able to do more damage earlier (almost killed orange and really delayed grey a lot) so they just had less to attack him with. I think the step lancers were not as effective at doing early damage as the CA was. I think Viper also made a mistake in not hitting the flank (red) at all. He should have tried to do damage to all three.
Heh, of course, I'm far from their level, so take my critique with a cup of salt.

Assuming both players from the 2-player team are equally good, then every player of the 6man team must be 78% worse so the game ends in a draw.

What do you mean? I have a feeling he posted his video later to let Hera have more views first, as Hera's channel is smaller and it was probably Hera who organized it.
The editing in this one was nicer than in hera's (not that hera's was bad). Granted, that's probably a function of having more time to edit (and, hera's already done some of these, but this is viper's first, so it's kind of special for his channel)@@Tsukuykamy

I'm not sure 2V6 against players that are better than extreme AI is winnable.
All they need is 4 players go feudal tower rush and 2 go for fast castle siege.
It's literely not enough resorces to defend tower rush from 2 players at the same time,
and even if you equalize it somehow you still can't defend siege from the pockets because your own castle age is gonna severly delayed.
Maybe 2V4~5 makes more sense. Anyway nice one from the best two players in the world.
Hm, you mean one player on each side does towers while another supports with feudal army? Yeah, that could be very effective if their micro and coordination is decent.

They can even give up castle age time and go all-in trash push to lock out all the gold and stone.
After that all they need to do is to sling the stone to the pockets and do castle drop and it's GG.
There's no way players around 1000-1100 can match the micro of Viper and Hera so their best bet is to abuse the number advantage and do some solid co-op strategy.
Yup, agreed. TC drop is not allowed, but tower rush is. Ultimately with a practiced enough strategy it should be nearly impossible for speed to outpace a numbers advantage.@@user-dy6zy2gq3j
