Damn! Very well done. I, personally, don't care for the 'weathering' thing. It's just a matter of preference, I suppose. No brass on this build, huh? The crystal chamber is bad ass! So, they come 'clean', so to speak? The problem I'm having is the price for anything with a removable chassis. The cheapest - $800 from Saberforge. The steepest - $5,000 from MB Sabers for a Graflex! $5k?! That's crazy! While the detail is amazing, MB seems more like a labor of love to me. Regardless of the weathering, this is still a very cool piece. So, how much was this package? The color is also amazingly bright, even for a video! That speaks volumes right there.
There wasn't any brass on the V2, at least not during the filming of RotJ. You're probably thinking of the V3. The V3 and the "Yuma" hilts both had some brass paint from the base of the Wind Vane all the way up to the bottom of the Emitter, basically like the Hero has. The V2 was just old metal and chipped black paint. There was a little bit of a brownish colour over the black paint on the side of the Wind Vane and a little bit on the top of the first step of the Wind Vane. Perhaps that faded brownish colour is left over brass paint from back in '77 when it was Obi-Wan's stunt saber. -
The Anakin Starkiller V2s are the most accurate V2s. Since you made it a point to mention how accurate this thing is multiple times, I thought I'd point out the following:
1. Cone Knob, super innaccurate
2. D-Ring, inaccurate
3. Mystery Chunk
4. The Circuit Card (maybe)
As long as the right side of that clamp card has the silver designs then you're good. If the designs are all the same goldish colour then that is innaccurate as well. Also the Booster section looks just as shiny as the rest of the hilt. The metal of the Booster section and the metal of the Pommel Cube section are both darker, worn out metal. The Pommel Cubes less so than the Booster section. That's supposed to be substantially darker that the rest of the entire hilt. -
mATT Colvin it’s worth noting this video is almost 5 years old. This run was before more discoveries were made about the accuracy of the V2...of course there are more accurate ones now. But at the time, this was considered the most accurate.
@@KRSabers Ah, my bad man. I didn't see that this was posted that long ago. Wasn't trying to be dickish about it, just noted observations of the inaccuracies. Every aspect of the V2 is fresh on my mind right now 'cause I've spent the last month er so building my "KR x OR" V2. I just finished painting/removing Trent's stencils. It's 99% finished, just a few small paint details left and I'm waiting on my new 100% accurate Mystery Chunk from The Saber Armory. They finally solved the mystery here recently. Considering how long ago this was that's a damn good lookin' V2. I'm glad I waited until recently to finally build mine. -
Kind of a stupid question but I'm about to start building mine (it's my first saber build, I'm doing the padawan chassis), and I was wondering what the best way is to secure the LED and lens in the emitter. The only way I could really think of was to glue the lens on to the LED and then thermal tape the LED down, but then once it's in, it's in and it probably isn't ever coming back out...
are there any pre built chassis with all the components needed to ignite a lightsaber?

+S&F White That was Anakin Starkiller's V2. It's also super accurate to the actual prop down to the spinning emitter and such, but you can't put electronics in it.
