Hello Branden thanks for the video of My Twin Dream, very informative and well put together. I prefer my FPV planes with landing gear. I think it would be a simple matter to add a tricycle landing gear to this aircraft. It would also eliminate the prop clearance problem. I have been doing FPV for a couple of years with 5.8 on FR Sky equipment out to 2 km. and think I am ready to try some longer range flights. Thanks Again Bill Jones
This twin is so cool!! I was starting to think about getting a skyhunter, but I hate launching pushers where the prop is exposed, and close to your hand. Now I'm really considering this twin for the ease of launching!! Thanks for this video, and your upcoming build and review of it! Max
Yeah, we have built Skyhunters and Twin Stars, along with many other planes. The Sky Hunter is a really nice bird, but I feel this will be a nice mix of what we like with the Twin Star and Sky Hunter.
Ya, I was considering the Sky hunter for a long range/endurance bird. But I was always concern about launching it. This is definitely on top of my list now! Thanks!
+AGL Aerial Video Solutions Very good build videos to help me build my MTD, I even have a Vector ready for same FC. I noticed a Twinstar in the back ground with cool blue paint. Any info or comments on that plane. I just finished one for learning twin engine before flying MTD.
The Twin Star is a great easy to fly plane. It just doesn't have much room on the inside for batteries and flight controllers. I painted that one to look kind of like Fat Albert from the Blue Angles. It's a nice smaller FPV plane
I'm pondering over the motors. I'm thinking of going 4S. A large prop will by the looks of it catch the ground and I wasn't planning on using any landing gear, and large props cause a lot of drag when gliding. Its a difficult compromise some of the the skinny GRAUPNER E-Prop 9" props are popular but not the most efficient certainly not on a 3S. By the looks of it you can fit a large 35mm sized motor in there.
Yes the firewall is pre drilled for a 35 size can motor. We toyed with several different motor / prop sizes and went with these 2836 1000kv with 9x7x3 props on 4s. We are making just over 900 watts and the plane should not need much more than 600 to fly so we are hoping for a very low amp draw on cruise.
AGL Aerial Video Solutions I preferred a 28mm sized motor. I quite like the SK3 ones you can get from Hobbyking but their 28mm motors are only rated to 3S. Which make are you using? I just placed my order earlier today for the plane.
AGL Aerial Video Solutions Thanks for the reply. These maybe a bit over the top but since you said it takes 35mm motors I was going to give these a try Aerodrive SK3 - 3536-1050kv. Interesting about your 4S comment I did wonder myself if it was possible on these SK3 28mm motors. I'd used SK3 2830-1130KV in the Durafly SkyMule in a 3S arrangement and it worked well. I don't recommend the plane though.
stewjw We are currently looking at the SK3 3530 1150kv for a client build. www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18160__Turnigy_Aerodrive_SK3_3530_1150kv_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor.html
If you are currently FPVing an Easystar then this plane will be a nice upgrade. Still very easy to launch and recover. Better payload, and very stable.
Thank you so much. Look forward the build video.

Hi, could give me name of glue that you use for fix everything ?
Wooh! it is only 4" wide, so I cant fit Sony A6000 in there? The camera is 4.7" wide?? What would you suggest?
Thx for your video.
Bought the Skymule but this looks definitely nice too.
What stand are you using to put your plane on?
Maxime Vanhamme Thanks; it's just a cheap little stand I got from the local hobby shop.

stewjw We are using the SK3 2836 1000kv. They say that these are 3s only but we run them on 4s regularly.

So having only flown an Easystar, would this be a good next step on my FPV/UAV path?
