So I just finished flying this scratch build here at my local field and it truly is a winner. Easy to fly and slow for learning 3d. I used a 1000kv motor and 10x4.5 SF prop with a 2200 3s lipo. I also add fixed landing gear. This thing is sweet..Thanks yall.
i just finished building this exact EDGE and followed his video to the "T. My CG is way back at about 5 1/2 inches from the LE!!!!!!!! with a 3S 2200 all the way up against the firewall. Could you PLEASE tell me where your CG ended up??? I would really appreciate it. I have zero experience with a flat wing so my normal under the thickest part of the airfoil doesn't work. Also please let me how you mounted the landing gear. I want to do that as well.Thanks.😊😊😊
@@berndm9743 Bro so yeah the cg is 5 1/2 inch from leading edge ( it's the front of the wing which is near the fuselage fr PPL who don't know) and it's crazy how a 600g plane is so smooth it would be better if it was around 450-500 grams could cruze at half the throttle 😅
@@eduardopacchioni7600 I never marked the cg on my one and haven't flown it in awhile. I'd hazard a guess somewhere a few cm behind the wing spar. Hopefully someone else can help you out
Made one at 73% scale out of adams dollar tree foamboard and added 6 sets of vortex generators designed from the FT 3D as well as some huge wingtips and it flies awesome! Definitely try your best to keep it light if you are using a small motor. Small issues wing wing rocking but it takes a crash like a champ
I chose to place all my servo push rods and control horns on the TOP of all the surfaces so that they won't get snagged by grass, twigs or weeds on takeoff or landing.
Hey! Thanks for the instructional and plans dude! THIS is my very FIRST build from scratch (as I am still a newbie). Just a couple of questions if you have time to answer? BTW, I thought the music was just fine (pretty cool) for the fast forward parts! 1 - I noticed the gap cut out of each wing where the fuselage goes (the perpendicular line) is approximately 25% of the total line vs the my 38% (cut from the plans). i.e. my wing hinge line meets right where the part of the wing is cut out. This means that my ailerons would be 7% bigger than yours. Did I somehow put the pieces together wrong? I can't see how! Or is yours a little different? 2 - Would it be a good idea to peel the white paper off of the foam and coat the foam with polycrylic (and maybe paint)? 3 - Would it be a good idea to sand the lead edges of each wing to be curved or would it make a difference? I's stuck at the aileron hinge part but, if I get no response will probably just cut the hinge straight across to meet with that fuselage cutout line vs yours that meets which goes more forward past the fuse cutout then back again. Thank you regardless of any responses! AE
Don't know if you still need help, but, Sanding the edges doesn't make much of a difference Having bigger ailerons is not that much of a problem Personally, i tries peeling the paper and then spray painting my planes, but some chemical reaction with the paint i used vapourised my foam core...also, it's better not to, for the structural integrity of the plane
+Michael Molina Good deal. There are tons of plans out there for all sorts of planes. This is how I learned to fly, and I got plenty of practice building as I learned.
I printed out the plans from the link in the description and they are too long for the foam board. When I look at the pieces in the video they are smaller scale then what printed out
+barowc We bought our motor, esc, etc at our local hobby shop. The motor was about $25. The motor we used is listed in the comments; it was a 2212-10 1400kv 3s motor. Thanks for checking out our vid.

According to my findings yesterday the safest thing in this airplane is to place it at about 70mm from the leading edge.

Hi you also need 2 or 3 deg/ down thrust and 2 or 3 Deg/ right thrust to fly straight standing from the rear model Builder for over 30 years
I usually make pin holes thru the plan into the material below then use a pen and ruler to connect the dots in the foam or balsa etc....thanks Laurie

what length and size of rod to use? Plz
Looks like the plans are different than the plane built in this video..?

Why is that wing notch needed? Mine go together perfect. Was the plans updated after this possibly?
Yes need video of it in air please,

How did your builds go? I'm so impressed with mine
You forgot to list carbon rod on your components list... but what I was wondering is it Solid or hollow? And do you have no the diameter of the rod?
