I know there are 50k subscribers but I feel like we are all discovering something sacred before it gets huge. Jon is straight up and genuine in his interest in each guest. Can't wait to support this channel for a long long time.
I don't now how this channel hasn't blown up yet, great content. Especially the Kurt Angle episode
I watched the Kurt one today and it was really good.
Doesn’t follow “the message” …
People that aren't real.. they're not ready for the truth. Thats what I think.
It can’t blow up because it’s actually real ppl talking! If they all dyed there hair and did dance challenges they would be influencers! We live in a plastic world! Ppl don’t respect iron !!
Wow just wow Jon these are fabulous podcasts and you keep it so down to earth and not Hollywood which makes it more real and interesting. Please keep it up because this is so needed. Real people and real talk. Thank you.
I lived in Bmore careful for 14 years. Lived on the East and west sides and I can only imagine how difficult it would be to be a good police officer in that city. These dudes seem super solid. They are the type of officers that city needs.
Thank you good brother.
This was amazing! I had the privilege of growing up with Big H! And he is exactly the person you see on this show!
He shows love and spreads positive vibes to everyone he encounters. And he’s definitely a man that will check yo ass!! Love you Brther! Great work!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I know both these officers and worked with them on short occasions. When Horton first transferred to the training academy I was one of his first trainees and he got to watch me graduate. Respects Horton from the BPD PTA family 1703 🙏🏽
I had the privilege to work with both of these Officers! Both fine Gentlemen stay blessed 🙌 brothers keep Grinding #10-01 & 15-03 Baby
Jon is our Brotha and mean that. We don't use that term lightly.
Born and raised in the O’Donnell Heights, you already know lol. I love Baltimore and I’m proud of where I came from. Thank you for what you do! Much respect!
You did it again! Some guys down to earth who have been through a lot... I just admire that some people take the dangerous situations and know how to manage them. I too think that talking helps much in that type of situations, how to relax people and make them feel comfortable in a way even if they are in serious "trouble" because of what they've done...
I'm a student of law, soon to be what it would be an attorney in the USA (we don't have the difference of lawyer-attorney, we are just "abogados"), I just have half of a course and a bit of practicing in an actual firm or court (6 months) and to me knowing how to manage with alleged criminals or criminals it's a very important aspect, as I'm interested (most) in criminal law. This enlightens me in so many ways as well as makes me think broader of whats being talked about in that moment.
Thank you again Jon!! And also thank you "Dre and H", I'm going to search for your podcast "The Silverback Chronicles"!!
Now I'm even more excited to see #WeOwnThisCity !
Your comment about what’s wonderful and beautiful about a person or organization being a close cousin to what is toxic about them is spot on! Definitely seen it in my line of work.
Thanks for another thoughtful episode!
This makes me really excited for the show. Baltimore police officers are a different breed. Respect.
I really hope this channel and podcast continues.
Jon, you are carrying the spirit of The Wire, We Own This City with your podcast. Journalism integrity at its peak.
this was such real episode. fucking loved it. love and respect to these superheroes. love and respect to jon, h and dre. killed this shit
I work in a capacity where law enforcement witnesses testify against my clients trying to put them away for life, and I see a lot of dishonesty and apathy. I am impressed by these guys. I appreciate the efforts made by everyone who contributed to this message and believe we need this and a lot more of it to get better.
100% transferrable to police in the UK and I imagine the rest of the world. Issues creeping up constantly that give everyone a bad name when you're just trying to do your job and at a base level keep people safe. Good honest conversation about the real issues that are going on at the moment, corruption, politics in policing etc but also covering the fundamental principles of why we all joined, to do right by the communities.
Loving these podcasts every week.
He's got that punisher look again 😁
I could listen to this all day. Great content. My city!!
Could listen to these two talk about police work and tell stories all day. Love this podcast!!
This is amazing, all Jon’s podcasts are but to hear deep insights into the policing world through the eyes of badass, black officers is especially enlightening and I really appreciate the raw perspective. So many people need to listen to this.
Love these podcasts. Jon love your work. Hope to see you as punisher again at some point. Punisher has always been my favorite character and your portrayal is perfect.
Good conversation. I would love to hear the officers answer this question. What does it to the officers mentality or morale when criminals that are arrested for weapons, drugs, murder are put right back on the streets within a few days. Only to have their cases pleaded for lesser charges and they never serve time.
Well I’ll tell you this as someone who has experienced this 100’s of times. It sucks. The bigger issues isn’t how it makes us feel but what it does to the community. Repeat offenders are a huge issue and when someone is victimized by someone who should still be in jail then the true anger sets in for the Officer.
It sucks bro but when you already know this line of work unfortunately it comes with the territory. It won't stop how we conduct business we just keep it moving. Much Love my Brother. "Big H"
Jon bernthal is the goat in acting imo, so excited for him to have his own podcast.
Mad love all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦🙏✌
What an amazing amount of shots, nice back ground too, cool conversation brotha
Great podcast as always. Big Love guys ❤️❤️❤️
Man, I dug this episode as it spoke the same language my colleague and I do while at work training in de-escalation techniques…at any job/career/occupation, wearing the ID you represent yourself, your dept, & organization…” know what that means and the realities people face in healthcare.
Working in Baltimore now I love these episodes
Love the show. Can't get enough of that story about Baltimore police. It's amazing how bad it was and how many people it affected
This needs 100 million views!
My fav actor god a POD now?!! LFG!!!
Amazing content and extremely enlightening. Keep up the amazing work. Chemistry is A1
Love your podcast brother, keep up the awesome content
Some real Bad Boys vibes . You can feel the love
I love these so much
Superb episode !! 👍🏾
Another brilliant honest discussion.
Man working at a Hospital as an attendant aka orderly/porter(take patients to their procedures or appointments & transfers around the Hospital either by Wheelchair or Bed or helping out in ICU/HDU)Man will deal with some crazy shite. I’m we see a lot. We don’t see it all (I know some guys who have) but it’s some shet. And we get everything ya know we have patients of all walks all ages of course some are like super nervous about things so they need reassurance, some are super sweet & some are funny but then we do get some who are rude, ignorant etc but you gotta be professional & try to handle it. But yeah it’s also easy to forget that but then you gotta reign yourself in.
Then there’s some things you can’t but you do the job the best you can regardless. You see some awesome & happy moments. But then there’s a lot of sad & horrific things as well.
The Part y'all here for 46:20
Lol thank you!
Great content fellas
Keep it up Jon!
Love this podcast and videos. Your role as Wayne Jenkins was Oscar performing
God bless our police. 🙏
The best podcast ever
I love the punisher ❤
I’ll another combat vet dude. When I got back they sent me to learn TM and at the point before they gave me my own personal”private mantra” they wanted me to bring like some fresh fruit, flowers, and a white napkin to make an offering to some guru and that’s when the Faith from my childhood kicked in and said “don’t do that. Remember learning that Bible verse, You’re God is a jealous God and he’ll have no other God’s before me.” That’s what put me back on the track to Catholicism. Ask Shia, he’ll tell you. That’s what you’re looking for. It will make sense of all your questions and blow your mind along the way. I can’t wait to watch Padre Pio. Watch it too.
The absolutely in sync lol
I with these gentleman. Im fairly staunch when it comes to my opinion of policing in America. With that said, defunding the police will only lead to the good officers and good programs being cut, similar to what you see in all branches of government. What we need is to provide serious accountability for the widespread corruption within the police that is taking away from great officers like the two in this video.
The man on the Jon's left looks Redman 👌
👏👏👏
👏🏽👏🏽
👏
I've seen the difference in what makes a good cop over a bad cop is accountability and humility. The problem is IN MY OPINION, is that the guys that don't hold these qualities have been the entitled, groomed demographic of people that have a need for power. I can't see a bad cop hold himself have humility in the middle of a situation that prevents a bad situation going worse and THEN hold himself accountable. He's always justified in his eyes. That's just a quick random thought.
North and Penn ain’t no joke, lol!
This and joe Rogan go well together
share the love!!
This is soo dope 🔥👏🏽👏🏽⚫️🔵⚫️
Respect o7

Thanks for canceling your appearance at Fandemic 😍
“At the end of the I’m a King”…..30 mins earlier “a lot of cops think they’re a God, no you’re not”😂🤣 Moral of the story, you can be a king, not a God😂🤣😆jk

Joe rogan needs to look out new 👀 some of the best podcasts I've seen
Come to New Orleans or Baton Rouge,Louisiana NY home state and city you want to see a city that makes it murder capital of the country every few years it seems like. I knew Alton Sterling he was 3 years younger than me when we were in high school together. I grew up a while kid in Baton Rouge in one if the toughest neighborhoods in Baton Rouge. Our high school was dubbed z" Baby " Angola like our state Prison Angola state Penitentiary. Going to all primarily black schools I learned how to fight, shoot craps spades, domino's and Tonk if some of u know where that card game comes from but I also learned alot of things about street codes and how to read people. I was given my nick name and everyone in the hood knew and the old cats my age if they here still know My hood name o still got my hood pass I'm certain areas lol. I think if your a cop never experiencing things like I seen a shooting at school and a stabbing and got in so Many fights from the neighborhood ams at school growing up so I learned what to look for how to read people well and I learned how to communicate with people and got respect because people knew I would fight anyone if it came ro me I wasn't going to be the bully or go looking to figut but i wasn't going to get loud capped or be anyone door Mat if u stepped we banged knuckles I had been chased for hours and blocks jumping fences yard to yard because I had Jordan shoes on and a starter jacket ,now this was in the 90s i graduated high school in 1995. I seen a guy get shot close up standing on the corner when we were at the bus stop getting ready to go to school. I had my back window shot our my 1988 cutlass with 100 spoke gold Daytons vogue tires the bullet busted te rear window bounced off the 6x9 speaker grill in the rear dashboard and missed the guys head that was in the back seat and exited out the all rear side window. Had the police pull me over because i had my black friends riding with me and because I was a 17 year old in a cutlass With expensive rims they automatically thought I was running dope in the hood or buying they searched us all pulled everything from my car ,speaker box busted it up to search it pull door panels and found nothing straight left us their said we was lucky and left my shit torn apart. Police hire these young kids as cops who never been around nothing street or hood and they haven't had there head game messed with by people who have the criminal mentality but it's not always their fault my old hood as well as myself we had nothing everyday was a struggle we all looking for a way up but when your told over and over u not shit you begin to think what's the point let's just be dogs in the game and get it hoe ever we can because this all we ever gonna be live.Cops need alot mote training send them to train in the hardest areas with veteran officers so they learn how to deal with people and react accordingly. 90% of the Time it's all in the Tone of the voice when talking to people and if u approach them a certain way you will nit need to result to shooting
Hopefully with Mosby not being the DA things will change.
That is all unions. my husband works for the MTA in NY and 99% of the guys at his job die one year in to retirement.
jon i like you a lot, but why you put so much effort into rehab'ing the image of BPD by showing a few individuals on the force who seem to be nice ppl... this doesnt negate the inherent violence of the police. why dont you have some of the victims of these ppl and their violence on for their views, why dont we hear from the members of the community who've been harmed??? these guys seem personable but it doesnt channge the fact that these are violent organizations, gangs essentially, that terrorize working class and poor and black communities in ways they dont interact with upper middle class ppl/ neighborhoods
