The word "tyranny" implies domestic government and the history right wingers have of threatening violence at the American government and the killing they did of capitol police officers proves that they're the ones revealing something about themselves. In any event, they're the ones who elected a Russian puppet.
I am sure “American troops” implies Government military personnel in his question. The word tyranny is not even implied in the current or original text of the 2nd amendment. It was written not very long after our war against England and it’s Anarchist rule. We needed patriotic citizen’s to have arms to defend the new government against foreign and domestic combatants. After all that’s who fought for independence against British soldiers! A rifle in those days cost more money than most people had, unlike today! Nowadays families will go on starvation rations to purchase an AR-15 to go with the rest of their excessive collection they now have as a sign of their machismo. A cult headed by a lying POS, snake oil salesman, are fooled into believing the re-election he lost was stolen from him. However nobody has ever seen the first piece of reliable evidence. A person standing up saying it had to have been stolen, bc their guy “SHOULD HAVE WON!” Is NOT reliable evidence of anything. But it is HOPEFUL THINKING! They get kissed and accuse the government of tyranny because their fraud didn’t win. It’s madness……..
Warms my heart to hear him say "stand up against tyranny" . So often we hear why do you need 30 magazine round bullets in an automatic rifle to hunt deer? 2A isn't for food or private protection.
Yes, if your read he federalist papers it is obvious that the second amendment is to allow the people to violently overthrow a tyrannical government. The founders had a military with muskets and thought that the military would never be much better armed than the citizenry in general. Which means that "arms" is any offensive weapon our military has, including thermonuclear warheads if you can afford one and if you can find a seller. Don't want private citizens to own one? Then take them away from our military.
Roy: "Semi auto weapons can be used to defend against tyranny." Nadler: "You mean you'd use them against American troops?" Me: "You mean American troops would be used to enforce tyranny?"
Thats the way I interpreted it too.. Though I know for a fact there are many American troops that would stand up against tyranny, with civilians, if it came down to a real fight.
The problem is that tyranny is in the eye of the beholder -- and the last practitioners of armed insurrection, on January 6, 2021, thought that properly certifying a free and fair election constituted tyranny because their preferred candidate lost the said free and fair election because he stank as a president and as a candidate. So, no, I don't think a government should tolerate a bunch of free-lance yahoos running around doing political violence.

Most "anti-tyranny" guns... AR-15 and AK-pattern assault rifles (as defined by military nomenclature, not anti-gun lobbyists) are too small caliber for effectively hunting wild game. But a 5.56 will definitely put down bad-faith gov't actors.
An AR 15 is a civilian version of the M16 military rifle. It was NOT designed to be particularly deadly. I military wants to wound a combatant. 1 wounded, 2 needed to carry him out, 3 out of the fight. There are alot of more distructive weapons. The most distructive are distributed humans. There are millions of AR15s in private hands, the percentage used in crime is extremely small. The FBI stats show twice as many people are killed with hands and feet as ALL rifles put together.

An AR 15 is a civilian version of the M16 military rifle. It was NOT designed to be particularly deadly. Yes, NadNuts, there is a Second Amendment.
Well said Mr. Roy. 🇺🇸
Does Nadler think that muzzle loaders are still used?
He would say what do you use a muzzle loader for ???
I have 5 muzzle loaders
Yeah I think during the special muzzle loader season or that's all you can use I think people still use them because you can't use anything else and they still want to hunt . I've shot one of their cool I could go buy 1 right now without a gun license because they're grandfather dead they're fun they're then they're fun to shoot they make a lot of smoke
Take out Nadler’s bodyguards and let him walk to his car and run errands in places he’s not been to.
Let’s make this into easy to understand.
What do you use a car with an “automatic” transmission for? Years ago, all Cars had “manual” transmissions.
Whether a car has a manual or automatic transmission is a moot point… You use a car for transportation.
The same logic applies to firearms… Be it single shot, revolver, bolt action or semi-automatic.
Nadler, naive as always.
Wow you actually approved this 3rd comment.. Jerry Nadler is one of the most ignorant people, and I toned down my comment a lot.. he knows almost nothing about anything we talk about in society... literally.
How is that guy in charge of anything is beyond corruption.
Naive...I say he's playing dumb
Good answer! To protect us against tyranny. That is one of the reasons and why it was written in constitution!.
The Constitution isn't designed for firearms protection , it's for human rights and government to protect those humans by it's laws.
Does the constitution also protect children in schools who have lost their lives to gun violence?
@@meghan42 if the Constitution was followed as it was intended by the framers where every American citizen capable between 16 and 60 were armed? And trained in arms? Yeah. Probably would be a lot less shootings. Probably would have a lot more polite society. Would you pull out a gun and attempt to shoot somebody if you knew ninety percent of the people in the room also had a gun?
i thought nadler was doing the right thing in asking what would they be used for...then he asked that nonsense question about fighting American troops.... so glad chip gave him a constitutional lesson
Weird conversation. Semi-Autos have been around since the late 19th century and well established by WW1.
They replaced rapid manual reloading lever actions.
The question asked by Nadler suggests he thinks that self defense is a 5 shot 38 special revolver or a side by side break action or perhaps, a single shot bolt action rifle. All weapons have their purpose, but for self protection from
Thugs abs tyrannical government, a semi auto should be on every one’s short list!
Also, the word “semi-automatic” seems to trigger in too many the images of Rambo or Arnold firing a M-60 on full auto with one hand.
Weird.
Actually if you match up a revolver to a semi for firing the fastest.........a trained person with a revolver fires just as fast or even faster than a semi-automatic.
At least Chip understands the point of the 2nd Amensment
Nadler seems to not know the US Constitution requires NO justification for exercising our Rights.
Thank you Mr. Roy.
How is someone in that position pretending to not know what the 2nd amendment is? Not to mention "due process"?
What is "an enemy of the Constitution, domestic or foreign"?🤔
That's the entire Democratic establishment your talking about right there. And because they all talk around it, many of the average Joes never understand that the guns in 2A are primarily to protect you from the government. Its a secondary benefit to protect your person of for sport.
The argument used that avoids 2nd Amendment rights is the "need"for semi-automatic weapons for sport or hunting in light of their use in horrific attacks by deranged individuals. These mass murders of our people in concerts, theatres, churches and especially wrenching, in schools has a powerful pull on our emotions. It shouldn't cause us to lose our sense.
Please refer to my comments elsewhere for a few thoughts why this is so.
@@dennishickey7194 there is no argument worth mentioning or humouring that ignores or tries to conditionalize the 2nd amendment that way. Nor the 4th or 1rst for that matter. People need to just stop pretending those conversations are worth having or that people attempting to present such arguments have anything valid to work with.
@@KCrail23 Agreed to and well said,KC! It shouldn't surprise either if us if we found each other on some red/ blue, left/ right divide used to split Americas apart. @@dennishickey7194 thank you.. and just at a moment when i'm (only barely exaggerating) about ready to walk away into the forest and watch the $h!tshow burn itself down from a distance..
All "semi-automatic" means is that you pull the trigger and ONE bullet comes out. You pull the trigger again and ONE bullet comes out. Semi-automatic firearms do not spray bullets like machine guns. So yes for hunting (if you miss you can quickly take another shot), and yes for self defense (if you miss you can quickly take another shot).
This is not the case if you ask Mike Bloomberg

Every weapon that is not an automatic weapon is semi-automatic. You pull the trigger it fires a shot. One shot per pull 🤔
wrong. not every weapon chambers another cartridge after each discharge.
@@BarneyBrimlowe but still only fires one shot per trigger pull. Semi-automatic. Automatic weapons fire continuously as long as you hold the trigger down. Really makes no difference if you're loading shots manually or in a cartridge or magazine. One pull one shot. A revolver is semi automatic. They're trying to capitalize on the fact that most people are uneducated and do not understand what a semi-automatic weapon is. And assume it's a Tommy gun LOL ignorance rules. Would you point your weapon at American soldiers? Would they point their weapons at us unjustifiably with bad and evil intent?
you are describing a single shot firearm. which requires the operator to manually charge the weapon and put another round into battery position.
a semi-auto does this automatically as part of the cycling of the weapon. but doesn't discharge the next round.
so... every weapon that is not automatic is NOT by default semi auto.
otherwise. we agree.
@@BarneyBrimlowe LOL semi-automatic refers to the firing capability not the loading. Thanks again though. Again even a simple revolver is considered a semi-automatic weapon and would fall in this classification. So no one needs to be confused. Let's clarify semi-automatic refers to the firing capability. Which almost every single firearm currently used has. Semi-automatic firearm does not equal assault weapon. But yet that's what you would be led to believe. With that being said guns are bad. Don't play with guns. Don't have a gun. Unless you absolutely need a gun. Then get more than one

"Whereas civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms." -Tench Coxe
Tench died in 1824!!!! Different times then. Why is it that every time the 2A is discussed, you defend it by citing a time when it made sense. Its not the 1700's. oops, i take it all back, the government is coming down my street, they're kicking in doors for no aparent reason....got to go!........

I think it extremely unlikely something like that could ever happen in the United States.... But I wouldn't suggest citizens lay at the feet of whichever administration comes to power to fall easy prey... In 2021 or 2321... If Mr Roy has to explain the 2nd amendment to congress, then nadler and the like must remove themselves from congress or any other political positions.
This is a waste of time we solved this issue in 1791
Thank you sir for saying it. It is used against Tyranny, & yes if Government becomes Tyrannical then we should be able to defend ourselves against it.
Glad to hear a republican support fighting against tyranny. Hope he remembers what tyranny is when so many republicans are being arrested for January 6.
Yes he seems to “forget” the unidentifiable armed enforcers used (deployed?) last year during BLM protests. 🤔
