There's something in the shots. This episode looks so much better, even more so than the previous ones. The team has caught the vibe very well! One thing to note is that the Kochuri seller had the whole root of hing! Previously, afghans used to sell it in Kolkata back in the colonial days, but now it comes in dust, store-bought form! I'm guessing this root paste is gonna taste much better.
Solid hing is available through out the country, but people prefer the powdered form for ease of use. Handling solid hing with fingers leaves a lingering aroma which does not go even when washed with soap.

Lovely video! Reminded me of home, but personally, I didn't appreciate the word 'slum food.' I saw the Ganges-the holy river, the people, the food, and the hard-working common men striving to make a difference. Now sure how 'this' is related to 'slum.'
This area "kumortuli" may look like a slum but actually it's not . This area harbours artists that are best in all over world , they make idols ,pottery, and various handicrafts that are unmatched and can put famous trained artists to shame.

The guy selling yellow pea curry is a 'priest' caste, allegedly called 'upper caste'. I see so many people judging others from India based on 'caste' in my university, kind of stupid to umbrella everyone based on the shallow knowledge or biased news you hear via internet.
I am not from priest class, but the reverse casteism they are facing is tremendous. Shamed for what their ancestors did and even not given equal opportunity. And they despite that clear exams with more marks than us. And yet are slammed to wear their traditional symbols. Or even bashed for their name, they didn’t choose for themselves. My friend left India because of that, only to be attacked in USA. Like blacks have completely attacked whites, even the progressive whites feel sorry for their skin colour, similar is the condition of upper castes in India. In struggle for equality, we lower castes are on the path of revenge. I cannot lose my friend, who never made me feel different. But I am targeted by my fellow caste mates, even some liberal upper caste people who tell me that I am discriminated. I sometimes don’t wish to have children in this terrible world, where justice is overlooked and revenge is sought out.

Fatafati video 🙏
The beauty of India 🇮🇳❤️
This is a beautiful video, people are happy with their lives. The shop owner cooks lovely food. Just beautiful.
Every time when you eat at a small vendor shop - you're hunger will feed a family. 👏👏👍. All the best.
Anybody who lived in Kolkata for at least a month would know that Kolkata may not be a bright flourishing modern city like Bangalore but a city that grows on your heart. For us natives, Kolkata is a emotion and we wouldn't even have wanted to change it a inch if the world was not in a rat race to show off financial wealth.
Coastal states in India have awesome food ... Bengal is best amongst those states..
Omg thank you for continuing this series!! I thought the last video was the end, so I was so happy to see this upload!!!!!
I love India! The food, the people!
CNA 's presentation is mind blowing! How hardworking and easy going people they're with 'immense' contributions to the society. 👍
I literally love to eat in old, smal&tiny food vendors or any small food stall especially old generation food store's,idc if thats a poor shop. It's really nostalgic and heartwarming🩷thing to me.
this kacchori man loves his work , just imagine how much effort hard work he puts , respect !!
its heartwarming to watch his positive attitude.....
Very long back as a resident of Hyderabad on a visit to Calcutta as part of official duty i had visited this place and purchased small clay idols like Maa Durga lava kusha and so on.But the real joke was i had asked my colleagues the way to go to that place and they were simply stunned.Later i came to know the other part of Kumartuli where a lot of brothels are existing.Any how all sweet memories.
😝😂
The Puja is actually incomplete without soil of a brothel. This was started as a goodwill gesture to them to make them feel included in the society!
Kolkata's rusty vibe is so pleasing, I am not against development but I never want Kolkata to become next Mumbai or Bangalore..
Rusty vibe and development are different,, Development and Tradition can go hand in hand,, just like cities in Japan,, Kolkata and other Indian cities have their own beauty and they they need to be developed accordingly
typical communist bangali. What's the problem with conserving the culture when being more developed at the same time?!
It won’t change, but the people won’t get the chance to have equal footing if they step out. That’s what I observe.
A very beautiful story telling. It shows how every person you come across have their own unique story to share. That every person is special working hard to carry on with their lives. The way this person spoke showed his passion in his work. Humble guy indeed. Perfect candidate for this documentary. Well done CNA.
Lovely video! Reminded me of home, but personally, I didn't appreciate the word 'slum food.' I saw the Ganges-the holy river, the people, the food, and the hard-working common men striving to make a difference. Now sure how 'this' is related to 'slum.'
কুমোরটুলির অলি - গলি তুলে ধরার জন্য পরিচালককে অনেক ধন্যবাদ।
the clarity of thought and explanation given by the kachuri vendor is ✅👍
The passion with which this guy cooks as if he is cooking for family and not general public.
This area "kumortuli" may look like a slum but actually it's not . This area harbours artists that are best in all over world , they make idols ,pottery, and various handicrafts that are unmatched and can put famous trained artists to shame.
1:09 If not you, then who? If not now, then when?
Motivation can come from anywhere, these people being the prime example!
I grew up in this locality. This is how home feels like. ❤️
Kumartuli r kothai bhai?
@@swagatochatterjee7104 Theek kumartuli noye, ami thaktam sovabazar e . But roj chapatola ghat e adda fix chilo...
21:12. Notice the argentinian flags proudly hoisted in the street. You will find them and Brazil Flags in almost every corner in the streets of Kolkata and other towns of West Bengal. Thank you for capturing Kolkata in such a beautiful way. For the people who have seen this video and wish to travel here, Please do visit. You will love it.
Amazing and captivating documentary! Want to see more of India!
Really felt happy after watching this video, it is amazing to see hard working Bengali young man otherwise
This is an eye-opener 😢 they seem really like what they do,and the way they prepare the food here looks clean i guess because they hav passions and their mindset is applauding
humble, what a beautiful mindset to have in a life that is bound to break you down since birth.
Fascinating piece of journalism , well produced and very moving ! Well done CNA.
Must say he knows better to make tasting food at much affordable prices than these costly chefs. looked so mouth watering, I'm sure it tastes fantastic
