    THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!
    I just bought 2 Baofeng GMRS-9R’s for a bug out bag I’ve been struggling for a week on how to operate and program these radios. I’ve figured out a lot, but your video really really helped me understand some of the features in the menu. You earned a subscriber tonight!
    Would like to see a more in-depth explanation of the menu, if you could!
    Keep up the great post!

    I just got a GMRS radio, I want to start from the beginning because I don't know anything, you video here taught me very much I didn't know, is there a way I can start from the beginning to understand the whole concept, I am not much of a talker, more of a listener, is there anywhere I can start to understand find frequencies repeaters and general knowledge for my GMRS radio? Any help you or any of your subscribers can provide would be very helpful. Thank You

    New to this GMRS scene. I've learned more in this 10 min video than I have from anywhere or anyone. I still have lots of questions. So many in fact that I don't know where to start. The next step is a base station. Something plan a simple just like your setup. I'm also thinking of getting a repeater. Thoughts??? Great video.

    462.725 MHz
    Frequency
    241.8 Hz
    Input Tone
    192.8 Hz
    Output Tone
    Could you do video on the set for this, on a UV 5G.

      it seems like this is on repeater channel 22 so you will get it on 462725 but your radio will autotransmitt on 467725 turn your rx tone off and your transmit tone to 241.8. Thats what i would try first but no matter what turn tour rx tones off and just try both tones in. its weird that this repeater has got 2 differnt tones i have not seen that before. I hope this can help at some point im going to do a repeater vid.

    So basically, I see no need for the software, however, I would like to do some naming of channels and radios. But I’m having issues doing so, the baofang software will download but will not “set up” on my computer. It can’t find the file. And then when I go to use chirp, I get this message. “Error reading data from radio: not the amount of data we want.”
    Any advice?, other than purchasing the RT systems, cable, and software? I’m afraid to waste money on that, and not be able to use it also!

    The Baofeng UV-5RHP is a good little cheap radio. I don’t get why you tell people not to get them. Perhaps you didn’t know that the UV-5 comes in a GMRS version, called the UV-5G. Which means that you don’t have to program it with the frequencies, like you did. Now, if you are one of those SHTF survivalists (something like that) or outdoorsman, then yes, the lack of waterproofness becomes an issue. There other radios that are way better. My current favorite is the Ailunce HA1G. A great radio build like a tank. But and I am looking forward to getting me a Wouxun KG-UV9GX.

    • @citizensurvivalplan
      @citizensurvivalplan  7 місяців тому

      I am going to check this radio out. Yeah I want people to have a Ham radio like the uv5rhp but i want them to really focus on getting a bunch of radios like gmrs to hand out and use during shtf gmrs is more simple.

    • @BikerGirlTraveler
      @BikerGirlTraveler 7 місяців тому

      Actually, I have to correct myself, because the UV-5G is IPX4 rated. Just like the new upgraded version UV-5G Plus. Which means that rain should not hurt it. While the UV-9G is IP-67 rated. Which means that it can be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

    Don't set any privacy tones unless your just talking to family or friends. If you want to talk or listen to the world. The privacy tones need to be off. If your using a node, privacy off, a repeater, privacy off. If you talking to your kids in thier tree house and you don't want the guy down the street listening. Do the privacy tone.

    • @citizensurvivalplan
      @citizensurvivalplan  Місяць тому

      Privacy tones are not private. The guy down the street could still listen even if you had them in.

  • @tat3r802
    @tat3r802 7 місяців тому +2

    😂 privacy tones aren't private. They simply allow you to ignore other people. It's useful on a repeater. But everyone else can still hear you
