    I remember Mike Anello! My brother and I actually got autographed pictures of him for Christmas one year; we were so ecstatic. As a "cornerback", he wouldn't have been able to cover anybody to save his life, but as a punt gunner, the guy was scrappy enough to actually make some decent tackles over the course of his career.

    It's not Fabrication it's just Hollywood. Name one movie based on a true story that was 100 percent accurate and wasn't embellished or somewhat distorted from fact.

    • @user-te2zq6tb9k
      @user-te2zq6tb9k 6 місяців тому

      Difference between embellishment and entirely fraudulent. The coach was a popular guy. The players didn't really like Rudy and certainly didnt threaten to quit the team. He only played because it was senior day and everyone played. He did not get a solo sack. It was assisted with multiple other guys against a team's backups. Rudy was also offsides so it was an illegal play. No one chanted his name because no cared about him. The carrying him off the field was mocking him. Those aren't embellishments. They're outright lies. Even Sean Astin has insinuated it was all bullshit. And then Rudy went on to show he's a liar by committing securities fraud.

      @user-te2zq6tb9k well clearly you feel offended by it. That doesnt answer my question. I asked if there is a single movie based on true story that is void of fiction and all you did was go on a rant about one story.

    A cornerback that was not going to play was the actual player to ask coach Devine to let Rudy dress in his place. That guys son played for the Irish and wore Rudy's 45 all four seasons at Notre Dame. I heard alot of Notre Dame players that played with Dan Ruttiger are just bitter, that Dan got any attention with the movie and all, to include the Golics and Montana. Rudolph sounds a bit jaded too. Oh well.

      Very true. I heard an interview by Notre Dames Running Back at that time. N he sounded jelous at the fact that Rudy got carried off the field that last game, even tho he had 2 or 3 TDs in that game. So I agree with u. People get bitter about stuff like that

      I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I cannot find the story about the cornerback.. I believe you because it makes total sense. We all knew the truth about the whole jersey lay down scene. The thing is where at the end of the movie he made a sack. That happened. There is game film of that and a radio call synced to that. No way to deny that. Why would you expose the truth like this, and trash on him? Do certain players that were on that team that year, have absolutely zero understanding of the impact of the movie had on kids? The impact it still could have on kids? It was motivational AF for me when I was a kid. Accuracy in a sports movie is not a big deal, when you're trying to get a message across, which they did. Perseverance, heart, determination, etc.

    • @thehaughtcorner
      @thehaughtcorner 7 місяців тому +1

So, he probably would believe that movie is historically accurate. Spoiler: It gets about a one 1 of 10 on the accuracy scale. Mike Golic Senior was there upwards of 10 years after the Eudy Game. Joe Kontana is apparently keeps in touch with Rudy as well. Love to Kyle Rudoph, but Tyler Eifert was a much better tight end than him. Had Tyler not had glass bones and paper skin, he'd of gotten a number of more Pro-Bowls. Plus, Michael Mayer just crushed both them out the water. ND is Tight End U though. Still Rudy was not offsides, and although he was a bit of a dick, the vast majority of the story is true.
