I know there are tons of movies that have better graphics, stories, or even actors but this movie has to be one of the greatest most inspirational movies of all time, and my personal favorite. I mean everyone other than his best friend and soon to be best friend all doubted him. I'm sure a lot of people might know what it's like to have their father doubt them but not a lot persevere through that. I mean this guy went through 4 years of college, 2 junior college and was no better than a practice dummy. All of those 4 years of suffering and being told you're not good enough and being beat down in practice to playing 37 secs in a game, that 37 secs I think it was, was worth more than those 4 years of college. Man that is something to think about. He didn't even expect to play, he was content just being on the sidelines. Great, great movie.
Sean Astin, awesome dude. Such an underrated performance too. I get that it was a 'sports movie', but could anyone else have played Rudy in such a redeemable way? I dont know...
This is the problem with a lot of comic book movie critics. You're watching a 1 and a half to 2 hour film based on years - decades in some cases - of story and character development. You HAVE TO allow creative license in those cases, because unless you want a 20 hour (not nearly as entertaining or financially possible) movie, there's no way to tell that story. So in the case of Rudy, it would've been impossible to capture the nuance of the feeling around the team and the gradual admiration that Rudy's determination evoked from his classmates without the jersey on the desk type of scene, imo.
Rudy is the most inspirational sports movie I have ever seen.
hockey notre dame college

The cinematography and musical score alone is awesome, I’m not even close to an ND fan.
Loved the movie.
I'd like to know how accurate was the Spring practice scene.
Ditto
100% accurate. Filmmakers used actual coach tape
Rudy is about passion.
Love Thee, Notre Dame

Respect Coach Knute Rockne:
It's Kuh - newt
Did Rudy's fiance really leave him for his brother?
I think so
Devine acts like he would have sacked the entire team if real life were like the jersey scene in his office. Right.
Muy Rudy....
OMG.. the shirt scene wasn't real... that just ruins it for me.
