Sweden had fixed and mobile coastal artillery before 2000. Nowadays the fixed gun-installations have been scrapped, simply too easy to hit with pgms now and deep penetrator munitions are also a lot better nowadays. The mobile 12/80 coastal howitsers have also been decomissioned after the fall of the USSR, Russia can no longer muster the amount of landing-craft and commandeered ferries to make a proper landing in a hostile environment. Much of the heavy firepower deployed at sea on behalf of Sweden is now delivered by the airforce and the navy. The coastal artillery of today consists of RBS 17 (laser guided hellfires carried by people and combat boat 90) and RBS 15, the heavy hitter, fired from a truck with 4 missiles in a rack.

2:15 The CV90 also use the Bofors 40 mm Autocannon but its mounted upside down to fit inside the turret thats why it trows the emty shells up and forward and not like the AA-gun who trows them down and forward. 10:19 Yes all TGB 40 used for towing the Haubits FH77 is equipt with a crane at 10:29 you see the crane just behind the cabin infront of the spare wheel, it can also be mounted with a extra cabin for personnel but then no crane is mounted if im correct. 14:27 Nammo in Norway also on the way developing a 155mm artillery ramjet round that would have a range about 150km(150 000meter or 93,2 miles)

The HIAB crane was mounted on the truck, i think. That brand is a common brand in truck mounted cranes in Sweden.

bofors scandal goes pretty deep. The scandal relates to illegal kickback deal between the Swedish arms manufacturer with the government of India for the sale of field howitzer guns. biggest arms deal ever in Sweden, and money marked for development projects was diverted to secure this contract at any cost. The investigations revealed flouting of rules and bypassing of institutions.

Wow, I did not realize the extent of it. I assumed it was just a money exchange, a way to get the fh77 instead of a different towed piece from a different country. Diverting the money from development projects is crazy. I’m looking more into it now.

Basically the same thing every other vendor was doing, except in this case as usual in Sweden we pretend that this is a problem.

@@rayceofhistory India is pretty corrupt making any deals require bribery, but India likes to pretend that they are not part of the problem.

    Two things.
With the bribe scandal. That was really mostly a scandal sweden. Bofors was pressured to stop delivery, it was not India that stopped accepting them.
The fh77 in India was not destroyed (one was) they was written of. The components was most probobly reused for other projects.
The issue was that they was shooting so much they was worn out.

Sir, You can search for 7.5/57 and 7.5/65 and 12/70 (ERSTA). (They are named caliber/ordering year) This are the "names" of the Coastal Artillery that we had in Sweden.
And why not look up RBS 15 KA, its the RobotSystem 15, today named "Gungnir" and sent to Ukraine. 2Lt Jansson (Ret.)

You wondered if Cooler weapons would be released now due to the current situation in Europe and the world.
But they have always invested in creating new and better weapons and vehicles. You can see when you were in Kuwait and Afghanistan, you had to develop new vehicles that protected the crew better and coped with the so-called road bombs that the vehicles ran over. It is probably the same with various modern weapons that are developed all the time, but which the public has not known much about, but modern weapons have been developed and sold in secret. Why we now see all the modern vehicles and weapons that exist is due as much as anything to UA-cam. Because it has been realized within the industry for military vehicles, weapons, aircraft and more that they also need the platform on UA-cam, to show off their products faster and earlier than what was previously possible. In the past, there were only these military fairs for all military equipment that was only available to different countries' militaries and governments. Now everyone can see this on UA-cam and the industry also makes money from the number of viewers on UA-cam.
This is why you believe that right now new and cool weapons are coming.
in Sweden, the Swedish arms industry develops all the time as well as Swedish military vehicles, you constantly develop the weapons and vehicles you have. Look at all the different JAS 39 Gripen models out there and they are surely developing more models and upgrades to the existing plans.
