Welcome to our new content. As the Weapon Detective, we investigate modern weapon systems of the Second Cold War. The Weapon Legends is about the older weapon systems. In our videos, we tell their epic stories, which made them a legend. The Weapon Legends investigates these stories, reads between the lines, analyse, and tells the untold. In our videos, you can find technical information, historical backgrounds, what happened during the development processes, combat experience and political projection. Let the wisdom of history show us what the future would be like. Let’s investigate the veteran weapons of the past together.

Great script, narration and production as always. Personally I find this channel to be one of the best on youtube when it comes to selecting innovative and intriguing weapon systems, be it a new or an old system.
A fantastic system ahead of its time 👍🏻
13:23 The real reason why this regiment lost all 18 howitzers in just 25 was because of how much this thing was used that the barrels wore out of their life.
Barrels are replaceable.
@@FairladyS130 After scandal we didn't buy extra Barrels
They are good for 5000 rounds, made of good Swedish steel, just like a high-powered rifle, do not lie upon me. The lifetime of a barrel is closely related to the steel composition and the burning temperature of the powder. Swedes have allways had a good knowledge of both, since the 1600's
Gunpowder and barrels.
Our Licenced 1898 Mauser Rifles were way better than the Germans dito as well.
Lost all 18 howitzers in just 25 ...months???
Hope replacement of the barrels were done; and the corrupt officials were charged, and placed in prisons.
Dear commentator, i am Indian Army , Artillery vetren, we lost no Boffers guns in this war. No gun was was even damaged by enemy action. I have got this checked from the Regiment u have mentioned
Pl correct ur script
Col kher, Artillery
Indian Army( vetren)
Thanks for your correction. We took the information from some Indian new sites, but we may misundertsood them.
I did my military service on the Haubits 77 15.5 cm !! A awesome "gun" 😉
Great video dude! I love your vids on the Scandinavian weapons systems!
It's so weird watching this thing driving and moving around :D
Thanks for the vid.
I love that the Archer uses the FH77. Proved and tested.
I was about to ask if Archer used this howitzer.thanks such a fast shooting howitzer.👍🇦🇺🇺🇦🏴☠️
India outlines 155 mm/52 calibre towed gun programme
Nice video as always. But, the FH77 defeated the G5 in the tender by bribery. The G5 would also be legendary in the Kargil War. Nevertheless, the FH77 is indeed a good howitzer.
You have to bribe them. Even in the UN Indian guys expect bribes. You can't blame them. They have to bribe in their every day life in India.
Great stuff
The ATAGS and Dhanush are the off-springs of those Bofors who are also going to suceed ike their parents. nvtless , I love my GHN-45 .
I think ATGAS is more of a copy while the dhanus is also a copy with some modifications. It makes sense that Bofors isn't suing india as they themselves have discontinued it.
Weapon detective, can we get some videos about maybe Palmaria, Ariete or any other Fantastic Italian machines? We would appreciate it greatly
When Indian Army managed to get these things to 19,000ft India was literally able to defeat an army who had a height advantage of 30,000ft
When I saw the thumbnail, I was like "wait that's the thing Indians use right?" Thanks for the confirmation
At that altitude I'm guessing a the crew appreciated not having to move it manually. 🥵
My everest is 29,000 feet
Your numbers dont sound good
@@NorthernMafia8 nope Mt Everest is 38,880 ft
Dhanush Howitzer of is actually a version inspired by FH77 but is way better has GPS,Ballistic computet has range of 39km and had 52 calibre.
Ofcourse it is better! FH77 was taking into service 46 years ago. Not fair statement, and did not the Danush barrel exploded several times.
@@Cptnbond No Dhanush(45cal) and ATAGS(52). ATAGS suffered one barrel burst.
i have read that it was even a bigger bribe scandal to the Dhanush gun than the bofors one . not wierd as india is what india is.. .
Can you make a video on the L-39 jet trainer?
would love to see the A-222 Bereg next there is nothing out there about it
Looks very similar to the FH70, also an L39 gun: what are the main differences?
Unlike the FH-70, this is self propelled. Its not fast but can move on its own for shoot-snd-scoot.
It also has a mechanical loading assist system, an arm which can carry upto 3 projectiles at a time.
Late, India has converted some of the howitzers to a 45 calibre standard rather than the original 39 caliber.
Artillery 🔥🔥🔥✅✅✅✅
Well you will Love the Archer if you like this Relic :)
It looks like a farm implement an stuck a bad ass gun on top. Then turned it into a great bit of kit.❤
How come sales were so low
The Swedish government are very selective of who they sell to.
12:57 Nooo. How could you do this. This is outrageous; it’s unfair, how can you have the high ground and not winning.
Imagine loosing a battle despite having a height advantage of more than 10,000ft.
Mushraf literally caused this blunder and he calls this opertion sucessfull 😂
At 14.18, 286 Medium Regt of the IndianArmy DID NOT LOSE ALL IT'S 18 GUNS😡, in fact due to the intense and reletnless firing the barrels were worn out in 25 days. There IS A DIFFERENCE....... These were then replaced by guns from another Regiment. The worn out guns are still with us, we di NOT lose them.
Enough about howitzers as long as they are the same caliber, they are too similar to be interesting
only 1 gun was lost due to enemy action and that belonged to a different regiment.
Hey brother, I was waiting for FH-77 Howitzers which is even used in Indian Army service.. you can also make a video on:
1. Arjun Family of tanks
2. Paramount M4
3. HAL ALH (exported to Maldives)
4. Tata WhAP (inducted as IPMV)
5. Pinaka MBRL (exported to Armenia)
6. NAMICA Tank Destroyer (China copied its designs to make HJ-10)
7. INS Vikrant
I wrote this list now as HAL LCH got a decent likes and views, and our Indian folks are slowly but actively engaging in your channel..
Walk like a crab, pinch like a crab
Even iran got 18 guns from black market
The FH 77A was never modified to the B
The guns ammo is not comåatoble that Sweden had the B is because Bofors had built the guns for India before the scandal broke
The 77A version could fire 3 rounds in 10 s, but the B version was down-graded to be more NATO compatible
Old memory, like the video states it was in 6-8s.
@@mattiasdahlstrom2024 It wasn't downgraded as much as NATO powder charges was harder to fire faster.
@@AdurianJ From my perspective as a (now too old) infantry reserve office the 3-burst salvo enabled multiple rounds simultaneous impact for maximum effect
That star wars reference was horrible
"towed" with like double air quotes....
This is much cooler 12 cm rörlig kustartilleripjäs m/80
Türkiye weapons system please
Yeah
Altay Tanks and Korkut SPAAGs in particular, sweet machine..😘
Turkey weapons systems include:
Beak (for pecking)
Talons (for scratching)
Wings (for flapping when pretending to be a great power)
😆
Turkey’s weapons are quite shitty compared to western ones.
Islamic dictadictator state
Watching it rotate and move by itself is quite strange 😆
Ukraine could use them if there's any in storage !
#SlavaUkraini 💙💛
Ukraine will get Archer, based on this but amuch more modern howitzer
@@magnushaggquist5075 Unfortunately, they're only getting a very small number of Archers, that's why I thought there might be more of these they could use too 👍
There are no Fh77 left in Swedish service. A selection of them was converted into the Archer.
@@FredDude27 I did say storage, but I'm guessing by "service", you mean "no longer in Swedish hands".
It’s easy to drive , I did as part of my infantry officer school , and very much speeds up deployment and bugging out
Looks similar to 🇹🇷Turkish Panter howitzer
Probably copied.
Turks copied the Bofors howitzer illegal, as usual
Towed artillery doesnt make sense on a modern battlefield
У шведов со времён Полтавской битвы очко кровоточит 😂😂😂
