Thank you for sharing this pattern. It's so easy but different, I can't wait to get started ☺️.
You’re welcome! Enjoy!
The yarn is expensive. But that throw may be worth it. Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I usually wait until this yarn goes on sale :)
Joanne is always having a sale
@@ashleelarsen7765 they do! 😊
You don't have to buy that yarn but similar and cheaper
@@sadiyahmuhammad40 yes you can use whatever yarn you’d like 😊🧶
How do I end the blanket once I get the number of rows I need for the size I'm making?
You can leave as is or you can add a border
To end the blanket, you will cut a long tail and fasten off. Then you’ll weave it in between your stitches. I did not add a border to this blanket, but you certainly can if you’d like.
Oh my gosh! This is THE BEST beginner tutorial I’ve seen yet!!! I’m a rank beginner and your patience, repetition and clear pointing is perfect. I’m inspired and emboldened. I can clearly see a finished product. This is the blanket I’ll make for my son’s birthday in November. Thank you!
You’re very welcome! I’m so happy that you enjoyed this tutorial and became inspired. I’m sure your son will love the blanket you’ll make for him. 😊
I’ve seen the puzzle yarn but haven’t tried it. Definitely will now!!
It’s such a fun yarn to work with!
I have done 3 rows. I love the pattern 😊. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
I made that exact blanket. I didn’t know it had a name I did two double crochet’s and a chain stitch and then two double crochet.
Yep, sounds just like the blanket in this tutorial, the Iris stitch.
Using a #4 yarn what hook and how many starting chains you suggest?
I would use the recommended hook that’s listed on the label. For the number of chains, refer to the chain multiple I mention in the video as I’m unsure what size you want to make. Thanks!
Wow. Another great pattern. I have seen the puzzle yarn but not worked up. I will be adding this to my list. The jelly bean blanket is next in row. Thank you for sharing. I always enjoy your videos. 🍀 I forgot to thank you for pointing out where to place stitch markers.
You’re very welcome! Glad you’re enjoying my patterns. 😊
That is a beautiful blanket!
Thank you!
Love this its absolutely beautiful but im not going to do the 5 th chain I do not like gaps at all I learned you can do that and project comes out perfect
Thank you! There are always different ways to create these stitches, so I'm glad you found one that works for you.
The starting line at the bottom and the top is different. How do I crochet the top so that it looks like the beginning row?
You could always make a row of double crochet to see how that looks 😊
Hi Amanda - looking forward to completing this blanket - love the pattern. I have a question though. Your first row is straight across from the beginning chain, but when you end the blanket it will be scalloped - is there away or does it matter that the ending row doesn't match the first row? Beginner question sorry if it doesn't make sense.. lol... love your patterns - this is my second blanket from your patterns!!! ;) Thank you!!
Hello! I don't think it matters if the beginning row doesn't match the end of the blanket. I guess it's all up to personal preference though. However, you can always make a row of single crochet stitches to create that straight line across the top of your blanket. I hope that helps, and I hope you enjoy this tutorial :)
Thank you @@AmandaCrochets I'm using a variegated color as well - it is turning out so pretty!!
@@pjspjs3174 you’re welcome! I’m so glad you’re enjoying this pattern 😊
Beautiful afghan 😍 I specially live the name 🤭🤣 Iris 🥰💕
Thank you! LOL I think this pattern was meant for you :)
🥰🥰Thank you 💕 I will start it when I am done with 2 or 3 of my wips 😬🤭🤣🤣
@@irisperezcrochetmore37 sounds like a plan 😉
I'm a fan of your tutorials and have made several of your patterns but I'm a bit confused on this one. Your other Iris Stitch blanket tutorial begins and ends with just one dc and a chain of 3 to move to the next row. This one ends row 1 with a dc but starts row 2 with a ch 1 and a dc next to it. Row 2 ends with a dc but begins row 3 with just a ch 1 and not a dc next to it. Even though you said to begin and end each row with a dc. Then why is there just a ch 1 only at the beginning of row 3? There is where my confusion comes in. I'm not understanding the beginning and end of the rows as to where to put the ch 1 and a dc next to it. Hope you can clear this up for me.
I’m not sure which pattern you’re referring to as I only have one Iris stitch blanket tutorial, which is this video. For each row, you will chain 1, which will not count as a stitch. You will double crochet in the first stitch and then proceed to work in the chain spaces. You will end with a double crochet in the final stitch. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for your reply. I was referring to the tutorial from about 4 years ago in your Crochet 101 series. I'm going to use that tutorial pattern for my blanket. I bought the puzzle yarn in the color Dominoes. I love your patterns so I'll use the one that's easiest for me. @@AmandaCrochets
It was an Iris stitch shawl in a bright pink shade. Beautiful.
@@m.williams2680 ah yes, I remember that! I love Dominoes, very pretty color. Enjoy making the blanket 😊🧶
That is beautiful
Thank you!
Love it. 🎉
Thank you! 😊
Hi Amanda you can’t get this yarn in the uk. X
Hi Sue, I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know. For yarn subs, you can try Universal Yarn Major, Hobbii Fantasy, or Elle Pure Gold Chunky. Those all seem similar to the yarn I used.
@@AmandaCrochets Thank you Amanda for letting me no. I love watching your videos.
@@sueharris3017 you’re welcome!
Hi Sue. I'm in the UK as well and I found it on ebay 💜🇬🇧
@@Laceycrochet that’s another place! Great suggestion 😊
