I agree. I happen to be making my first of Suzette stitch for a 5 year old. Simpler patterns like this one that come out as beautiful and textured as more complicated patterns I find impressive. Pretty pleased with The Lord for such a beautiful gift. Thanks for lesson on herringbone hdc border!
I tried this 110 chain stitch with a 10mm hook. I thought I was making a baby blanket. This turned out to be a bed topper for a single bed. Not bad, not for a baby. So, I tried it again with 80 chain stitches, with a 5mm. Much, much better this time. I had to laugh at myself too🤣🤣🤣 thank you for the video!
You're welcome! Using a bigger hook would definitely make your chain much wider! I'm glad you didn't give up but instead tried a different hook size. Hope your blanket turns out great! :)
Thank you for such a beautiful stitch. I like this better than making a single crochet blanket or even a granny square blanket. It is easy even for a beginner to learn. Thank You
Looks beautiful, I'm a beginner and just found out that a friends son is going to have his first baby this year. I will attempt to make this blanket. Thank you very much, very clear and easy to understand ❤
Been using this pretty stitch for a while, for my Preemie blankets. I love the texture, snd there are no holes for little fingers and toes to get into. And... It’s so easy.. always looks great.
I just wanted to thank you so much for your crochet tutorial. My daughter is expecting her first baby and my first grandchild and I wanted to make a baby blanket. I was struggling so much. Watching your tutorial made it so easy for me. I know it’s not perfect but every stitch was with love and I am delighted with the results I’m seeing. That’s all thanks to you 👶❤️
You’re very welcome! This was one of my favorite blankets to make. I’m sure your blanket will be cherished for a long time. Congrats on your first grandchild! 😊
I just love the stitch..I've been looking for an easy stitch to make a baby blanket for my great grandson..I've just now found..thank you for sharing..
Thank you, I love this stitch! I just did a sampler piece and it turned out really good! Now I'll make a whole blanket out of it for my newborn grandson!
Thank you for sharing this! I am making a baby blanket for my first grand child coming in January following this tutorial and it is a beautiful stitch!
Hello, Thank You. Been looking for stitch that's not so bulky, for a thin but warm blanket. I love how quick it works up and love the border. Thanks again.
I have researched tons of videos on here and I absolutely love the way you explain the instructions On this baby blanket. You do a wonderful job. Just got my yarn and hook and am ready to start. Thank you again for your excellent tutorial.have a blessed day❤️
This is a beautiful stitch for blankets and your explanation and demonstration is very easy to understand. I really found it helpful and inspirational.
I’ve been doing this stitch for over 45 years and never knew the name! I thought the Suzette stitch was a loopy stitch that kind of linked into itself each consecutive row!! All this time it’s this pretty, neat, soft stitch! Thank you!
You are so welcome! I know there can be multiple names for crochet stitches (example: moss/linen stitch) so it can be a little confusing at times. Glad you enjoy this stitch just as much as I do!
I'm getting ready to make my second Suzette baby blanket. The first one was 2 years ago for a teacher I work with. She loved it. I made it exactly like the one in the video, color and all. It was perfect for them because they did not want to know what sex the baby was until born. This time I know that the mother to be is expecting a girl. I'm so excited to go purchase my yarn and get started.
I'm currently crocheting a baby blanket for my nephew using this tutorial! He's arriving sometime in June! Thank you for sharing, such an easy pattern to follow ❤️❤️
I'm making a baby blanket for my 5th grandchild using this stitch and I really LOVE it. Thanks so much for explaining so clearly! You are very good at what you do and I consider you a blessing! Thanks again :)
Thank you so much for this crystal clear tutorial! I was already about 1/4 of the way in to a suzette stitch baby blanket before I found this video. My pattern does not have a border. I really like your border and I plan to add it to my blanket. I didn't know about skinny cakes! I will look for that yarn for the next blanket!
Thank you for this excellent tutorial!! I’m a beginner and the way you explain where to place the next stitch finally made sense to me! I struggled a bit with the herringbone stitch trying to get my hook through that “one more stitch”. But hopefully practice will help. I’ve also been trying to learn the moss stitch so I will go back and watch your tutorial on that. Thanks again!
I have this blanket in progress and using Carron Skinny Cales in Cookies and Strawberries and did order four balls. I have to say is looking so pretty and am loving the colours. It’s a very close pattern and so easy to do,. Will most certainly be making this again and will use Blueberry Pudding yarn. Gorgeous blanket thank you
@@AmandaCrochets loving it and its so much easy yet so pretty in it simpleness. I have four balls of the Carron but yet purchase a couple more to make sure the blanket is big enough to snuggle under if watching a movie.. I’m not very fast as yet as new to crocheting, but its not a race and I do have Parkinsons, so considering I’m doing fine.
You are using two of my favorite stitches:) I am making a baby blanket with this. Also just made some cotton washcloths which I rolled up on the diagonal, gathered and tied with some yarn (or ribbon) to make Easter Bunny Washcloth gifts:) Thank you for such a nice and clear tutorial!

I'm loving this stitch, it's beautiful for a baby girl blanket but it would also look great in a scarf. I would think counting your rows would be a good idea for putting a border down the sides! You could make Sue you have the same amount of stitches as you have rows
I enjoyed the video I'm making a blanket for my neighbor. Her 2nd boy. A suggestion the white yarn with white background is real hard to see. My eyes are lodge.

Very good video:) I am currently making a baby blanket with the HDC Herringbone stitch. Love it on your blanket as a border. The Suzette Stitch was one of the first pattern stitches I learned and I want to use it again. Makes the best baby blankets, washcloths and scarves. Thanks for such a well demonstrated tutorial😊
