I follow a BEAUTIFUL satin silver hatchback one on instagram and its got me so tempted... satin silver looks SO good with the body lines of the car, but at the same time I do like my polymetal gray.
@@didi3000 the top hat (black metal piece with three studs that go through the body of the car)? It is possible to turn it with the springs on, that’s normal. You might have to turn it a bit to align the studs and lower strut bolt holes/mount. Once it’s installed it won’t turn anymore.
These wheels were 18x8 which is an inch wider than stock with a 225/40 tire I believe but am now on a 18x8.5 on the same tire with no issues with rubbing or anything!
Great vid man! This is kinda off topic so sorry in advance but do you know much about the JB4 TUNER? I was thinking about putting it in my 21 Mazda3 Turbo hatch. Want to at least get 300hp lol.
Thank you! So I actually had a 2013 BMW 135is and I installed a JB4, intake, and catless downpipe. That car was rated at 320hp/tq from the factory and I hit 400 torque to the wheels after those mods. The JB4 is basically a piggyback ecu. It plugs into the stock ECU and various sensors and adjusts their inputs/outputs to tune the car, increase boost, and make more power overall. It worked really well and came with several pre made maps depending on what mods you have, fuel, and had a map that you could customize. I would recommend it as it was relatively cheap and easy to install, was customizable, made a big difference in power, and it won’t void your warranty as it doesn’t actually change the stock ecu tuning
The owner ended up selling the car about a year after this, but as far as I know there were no issues. The car rode well with the springs and they don’t increase the stiffness so far beyond that stock that issues should arise.
No, I don’t remember the exact reason why. Guessing it wasn’t necessary to do due to the design of the rear suspension. He never had issues with bottoming out the rear suspension after the install
Close to stock! My buddy who owns the car says he doesn’t really notice a difference between this and stock, although the handling and body control is improved.
Exactly why I’m doing it on my 3 turbo - it doesn’t take corners the way the regular (shitty) 3 takes corners for one, because it’s got +75 hp! Secondly, The Mazda g vectoring does next to nothing at a corner in the turbo (which is also why I’m adding the big brake kit sometime as well). Also the torsion beam at the rear sucks too - in previous years they supposedly had independent rear suspension in both reg 3s and turbos
Mazda 3s really are an underrated looking car, I was going to keep mine stock painted but these wraps are making me rethink

I’m fairly certain I saw this car at MATG, and thought what a cool color! I followed it up the Tail.
He was there! We got a VRBO out in Bryson City. Hope to see you next year!
@@DriveMX5 I was at Robbinsville this year and for next year I got a room at Fontana Resort. See you all there.
Get video bro! Keep making content for the 3turbo. You got a sub from me.
Thank you! I’ll try my best
Might be a dumb question, but did this car have any spacers? I think corksport says something about a 10-15mm spacer would look good with stock wheels
Paint job 🔥🔥🔥
So we’re in the middle of putting the front lowering springs on and the top part of the strut is moving around , turning, is that normal?

The Offset Wrench you used to tighten the Nut on the strut, What size was that?
@@didi3000 17mm, sorry I didn’t specify!
Hi! Thanks for the video. Keep it up.
btw what’s the springs setup? along with 18” tyres as well?☺️
Corksport Lowering Springs and Continental ECS tires. Stock I believe same as stock wheel and tire size

@@DriveMX5 Wow that's some very good info man!!! I think I'll get one for sure. I've never modded a car before but it looks very simple to do. Thanks!
@@jaymarquis3482 yeah it’s not bad at all! Great mod for anyone, especially if you don’t have a ton of modding experience
7:34 let's talk about that dent on strut 😂
They’re like that from the factory! I think… 😂
@@DriveMX5 Lol yea I realized after watching some other videos, excellent video tho bro 😂 👌
@@randomdude6190 thank you!
Great video! 👍🏻
Thank you!
I wanna do this but some of the potholes around Denver have me second guessing myself lol

Any update for it would be appreciated. I want to do it but I'm concerned about ruining my shocks.

where you got the 17/19 wrench for tighten the nut on the strut plz?
i search everywhere lol
The one that’s offset? I think it was from Autozone
What wheels? So dope
I love the rims what are they called and what size did you get?!
I’m sorry for the late reply! It wasn’t my car, but I believe the wheels were some model of 3sdm and were 18x8 on 225/40 tires
@@DriveMX5anyway I can ask Trevor about these wheels and the setup
Great video! I was wondering how many inches was the car lowered?
Thank you! Didn’t measure before and after (I really should have) but my best guess is about an inch and a half
Didn't cut the rear bump stops?

I’m in Lakeland I want to lower mine but these streets are assss
What is the exact name for that color ? Love it
Sorry for the late reply, it’s Avery Dennison matte brilliant blue metallic
How long did it take them to ship these mine are taking a while
I don’t know for sure but I wanna say it was less than a week. I didn’t purchase them, the owner of the car did
Aren't you suppose to cut the bump Stop on the Strut!?
Yes, we did cut them. That was at 5:55 in the video
Will these fit into a 2022 cx-30 turbo?
I’m not sure, I’d recommend reaching out to corksport for that answer. If they do, I bet it would be a dramatic drop!
Did you have to adjust camber?
He did get an alignment after this, but if I recall correctly, it was not far out of spec as the springs provide a modest drop
What colour is your car? Or is that a wrap?
It’s a wrap. I forgot the color, hopefully Trevor comes on here to say (he was the owner, but sold it). It was black underneath
Avery Dennison Matte Brilliant Blue
Does this affect the G-vectoring system?
Not that we know of. No trouble codes or odd driving behaviors have resulted from the springs
@@DriveMX5 perfect. I really wanna get these for my turbo hows the ride comfort?
