I know you may not see this seeing it’s years old but I hope you do. I absolutely love your music you have inspired me to pick back up my guitar after my grandfather died years ago. He taught me to play. after he was killed I just put it up. I hope you have not stopped making music this is what real country music should be.
When my grandmother died last year it hit me so hard I couldn't cry or show emotion. It was so overwhelming that I didn't know how to process losing the woman who raised me. I heard this song for the first time a month after she passed and all of it came crashing down. Riddy, thank you for writing this song. You helped me grieve my grandmother instead of just bottling it up. God Bless
I’m sorry for your loss, Riddy. Beautiful voice, I admire your ability to tell a story in such a powerful way. I don’t know much about song writing, but I imagine it took a lot of work to hone that skill. Good luck, keep up the good work!
Riddy, I hope you never read comments (because it's the internet), but in case you do...It was a tall order to make a studio recording to match the emotion of the Western AF version of this that we were all introduced to. You nailed it. It's like the slightly slower tempo of this version lets the words hurt more between verses. Oof.
Was a fall Friday morin' mid-September Dad, he would die one month later Well, mom went to visit in the place he would pass ’Cross from the river and in front of the tracks He said, "You won't believe who came to my bedside Johnny Cash on a freight train, sometime in the night Well, he wanted me to go along for a ride But, I told him I would stay for my children and my wife" Mom turned on the TV and to her surprise Breaking news this morning Johnny Cash has died Well, he passеd away in Nashville sometime in thе night Well, the nurses told my mom, "Don't be surprised Funny things happen before someone dies" Well you can call it spirits, angels, or lies But we’ll never know what someone sees with their own eyes No, we'll never know what someone sees with their own eyes He said, "You won't believe who came to my bedside Johnny Cash on a freight train, sometime in the night Well, he wanted me to go along for a ride But, I told him I would stay for my children and my wife" Well you can call it spirits, angels, or lies But we'll never know what someone sees with their own eyes No, we'll never know what someone sees with their own eyes

The Western AF has more authenticity. But the idea, the feeling is here.

Breaking news this morning Johnny Cash has died
Well, he passеd away in Nashville sometime in thе night
