The Civil Wars are totally underrated. Never watched the Hunger Games until today yet I knew of the Soundtrack and this was hands down a masterpiece and favorite. I like that everyone interprets this song differently. ❤️
Both me and my boyfriend were suicidal when we first met. We saved each other and stuck together. Now things seem so perfect and I couldn’t have asked for more. This song just makes me think of all the moments we’ve had together and it brings me to tears every time❤️

When we share something deeply personal about ourselves with another person, and are met with being ignored, treated as invisible, punished, mocked, or discarded, it is not our fault. The way another person responds to our requests for safe space is a reflection of them and how far along they have come in processing and healing their own trauma. An unhealed person is not capable of holding safe space for another. They must first learn how to hold safe space for themselves. Don't take it personal. Sitting with the pain of another's abandonment hurts, but abandoning yourself is deadly. To my inner child - I will never let you go. I give you permission to walk out of the shadows of your past, and to shine. You and I will be safe and sound.
I'm here because of Carolina, Taylor Swift, just released. I mean, I just missed this song. Every time she released a song that has a folklorian vibe with it, it will instantly remind me of this song. So sad yet so chilling, and will probably make you feel like you're closed to home.
Same!! Im hearing this songs after a long time, and for someone who listeners mostly to folklore or evermore its soo weird to me, like her vocals are soo mature now (obviously ageing) but they sound soo heavenly too me! I really wish she does a version of this too it will be crazy
Gosh i remember being so excited for The Hunger Games to be released and then finding out Taylor was going to sing for the soundtrack made me so happy. When the song was released, i literally felt chills. It was like Katniss seeing Prim to sleep, and while it is eerie, its still comforting and now that I'm older, the song's structure, the whole MV, the lyrics and just everything felt so right, so accurate. I spent my years well with Taylor 😭❤
There are songs with heart touching feelings and memories. This is one of those songs. There are the beautiful songs. They remind us of loved ones. Passed ones. Sad ones. Glad ones. This song reminds you how dear your life means and how much a single hello or a single wave could be so joyous. This song reminds you passed ones and how everything will be okay. This song reminds you its fine to be insecure and not be normal. This song reminds you the meaning of life. The reason to fight. The message of love. The note of death. This song is a helper to many through rough times. To those that need love. Who think they dont have a reason to fight. Who hate themselves. Who are scared. Who feel insecure. Whom are bullied. Who are depressed. Those that need comfort. But there is still a small spark of hope with in them, even if they dont realize it. Even if they deny it. The comfort and love ignites the sparks. It fans the flame and the flame grows. The flame is not always there but the spark is. These songs ignite the flames too because they remind us that we'll turn out okay. That there will be another day. It shows us the light. Gives another reason to fight. We cry only for so long before we drain our salty tears. We can only bare so much pain. But if we fight. We can continue the journey of life. This song reminds you that your safe. You're not alone. We're all in this together. We bond. A great quote I heard before is,"Normality is like a paved road. Perfect but doesn't grow any flowers." That means life would be anti-climatic without weirdness or oddness. Dont feel insecure about your insecurities. Cherish them. This is the safe song. *For those going through rough times. Just remember your safe.*
doing a rewatch marathon for The Hunger Games movies to prepare myself for the 'hunger games: the ballad of songbirds and snakes' and I just finished the 1st movie... and this masterpiece started playing at the credits. Safe & Sound is a masterpiece.
You can’t tell me that Taylor isn’t playing the role of Madge’s ghost wandering the ruins of District 12. The Hunger Games will always play an amazing part in our childhoods and Taylor’s music. :)
@Potato-kun Zae whoops you're right, when I checked on spotify the label that released the soundtrack itself wasn't bmr. not sure how that'd work, fingers crossed she rerecords though
Katniss is singing this song to Rue.Proof is during the part (in the song) "I remember tears streaming down your face, when I said I never let you go".In the book Rue asked Katniss not to leave when she was dying
this was my comfort song when i was 8 years old, i am 17 now and somehow, it still manages to calm me. i love taylor so muc, she connects through my soul, and hugs me whenever i feel down.
I’m turning 17 next week and I remember hearing this song back when I was around 8 too and I guess I just forgot until I read a article about Taylers song being used in the hunger games and I was like found it lol 😂
“I don’t care if we’re rich. I just want you to come home. You will try won’t you?” - Primrose Everdeen This song is so special and so emotional!! Not only for Hunger Games fans!
I’m a hunger games fan , but still this song hits my heart every time I hear it, and I start crying whenever she says “ you’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now “ 😭R.I.P Primrose 😭❤❤
it has been 12 years since I heard this at 12 years old. A whole life time ago. It has been with me half my life. It makes me feel the way it always has, life has changed but this, simply, captures bittersweet helplessness. The harmonies are what consolidate it as my all time favourite taylor song
When she says,"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now."I feel like I'm talking to my grandma, she left us 2 months ago due to covid.
I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, I'll never let you go When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said, don't leave me here alone But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound1 Don't you dare look out your window darling Everything's on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on Hold onto this lullaby Even when the music's gone Gone Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound Ooh, (ooh), ooh, (ooh) La la (la la) La la (la la) Ooh, (ooh), ooh, (ooh) La la (la la) Just close your eyes You'll be alright Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
This was the first Taylor Swift song I ever loved. I didn't know she would revisit this very same sound and aesthetic years later with Folklore and Evermore but I'm sure glad she did.
I can't believe this and the Hunger Games was eight years ago, well that confirms it, I'm old af. The weird thing is it seemed only like yesterday when I read the first book. I read the book on 2010, and again, I realized, I'm really old now. Many things have changed since then, but my love for this series will never change ❤ Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever.
This would be on repeat when I was young and my parents would argue outside my bedroom door. Have not listened in a long while. As I was humming, the rhythm came back to me and now im here, crying how things turned out, but happy that it became for the better ❤️
This actually was supposed to be about Prim. Taylor was supposed to pose as the ghost of Prim, walking through her the ruins of District 12. Thats why shes walking through the cabin, the rusty mockingjay pin, then it flashes to the past with the same cabin which is lived in. When she is on the hill, she's in the meadow. She's also walking through the forests of district 12. The white dress is what portrays her as a ghost. "Even when musics gone." i think this is about Katniss and Prims father, who was the musician in the family. This is so beautiful.
"Safe and sa-a-a-a-ound" CHILLS. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Yesterday was my last day at the elementary school I’ve been at most of my life. The lyric “I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I’ll never let you go” made me cry. One of my teachers literally said “I’ll never let you go” this song makes me very emotional.
One of the most underrated Taylor´s song by far
So true
@@xX-Leo_lionGachaXx this song is so peaceful and also has won a grammy
I remember being so excited when I found out she wrote a song for the Hunger Games soundtrack.
But this is most meaningful song I heard

All I’ve been able to think about lately is “Will Taylor be able to get The Civil Wars back together for Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version)” 👀
hello brother, she should recreate it
I'm all about this comment. The Civil Wars is still one of my top 5 favorite concerts.
I hope it goes into Speak Now(Taylor's Version) so bad. "Crazier" too. These 2 songs NEEDS to be part of Speak Now😭😭😭
i just said this the other day

Safe and sound:“Hold on to this lullaby”
My tears ricochet: “you hear my stolen lullabies”
omg she def took some inspo for folklore and evermore from this song.
They are both my fave songs huhu
@@tayonbway I think Taylor really liked this aesthetic, but didn’t know how to make it an album.
This kind of music suits Taylor's voice well, & she looks adorable in that white dress!
Listen to folklore 😉
If you like .....this vibe of song
She is better in pop not country music or folklore.
That's what I think too!
And now she’s dropping her ninth album « Evermore » that will have elements of folk and country music ❤️😭

I mean, im not a Taylor Swift fan AT ALL but this song is the most beautiful song i have ever heard.
Is it me or does Taylor look like she can be older Prim.......
True
Kawaii Potato prim dies young then she does not can be prim
Spoiler alert?
Idk if it is or not cuz I've read the books....
Damn it, so beautifully said I think every person in the world needs to read your comment👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍

YESSSSS ME TOO!! I made a video dedicated to Primrose with this song, CHECK IT OUT!! and I can't stop crying rn :(
There are songs with heart touching feelings and memories.
Ok
That was beautiful.
Wow spoken and worded so beautifully.😨
Prim: *blows up*
Me: *reads this speech you wrote*

The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone

This was the first Taylor Swift song I ever loved. I didn't know she would revisit this very same sound and aesthetic years later with Folklore and Evermore but I'm sure glad she did.
I can't believe this and the Hunger Games was eight years ago, well that confirms it, I'm old af. The weird thing is it seemed only like yesterday when I read the first book. I read the book on 2010, and again, I realized, I'm really old now. Many things have changed since then, but my love for this series will never change ❤ Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever.
