Great conversation. Identifying the emotion and then not ruminating on what could happen is the key. I put it into practice today and it got me through a situation surprising well even though I delivered bad news.

I really appreciate this interaction. I am so glad to listen to both of you because I am working on research to understand how emotion regulation (Reappraisal Model) is involved in self-efficacy (Bandura) of primary school teachers

Awesome discussion! This really got me thinking about how we can recognize those times we're stuck in our own heads and miss the chance to use these reframing techniques. Maybe we could explore some tips for identifying those moments in a future video?

I loved to learn more about 🧠cognitive reappraisal with Dr. James Gross.
Emotion regulation goes beyond simply controlling negative emotions. We should consider to feel them. It involves appreciating and understanding our emotions (positive and negative), recognizing their value, and taking action to address unhelpful emotions.
By doing so, we can improve our well-being and navigate the complexities of the world more effectively. Thank you, Dr. Marc Brackett, to bring this valuable highlights.
