There's nothing special about the way it's been cut
the intro mimics his musical style visually. the inserts elucidate his picks and pace out the rest of the video. if there was "nothing special" it would be a singular take with just him talking. watch the other videos in this series, all of them are incredibly well "cut" and significant for each artist.

i was so happy to know that his choices were so diverse. it takes a special artist to understand that just listening to one style of music produces nothing but rubbish

That pretty dope that his music transcends gospel, and classical pianists and of course Outkast and other house music, with a nod to Drake for his flow on the songs he makes. Totally not what I was expecting but even more respect for his range of music. Super cool to hear what he picked up.
James Blake is great! , I knew him because Bjork mentions in an interview as one of the musicians who deserve to be heard. :)

Thank you James for James Cleveland & The Angelic Choir. Pretty amazing gospel music, with everything that I like in gospel: A Choir and an amazing baritone singer, it's mostly upbeat with that gospel-swing that I like so much. And that organ, bluesy and improvising around the melody.! Lovesongs for the Lord from a Baptist church in 1962.
And only 8 years later he comes in with the 3 stacks feature

I've developed EVEN MORE respect for James in him being able to respect some of the key foundations of different genres of music…love it.

so many musicians would choose records like that because they're surprising and not obvious, but the way James justifies his reasoning and shows his affection is just brilliant.
This man is music. There is a level of excellence from artists that know, love, and nurture their craft and he's one of them. Why can't we expect this level of musicality and musicianship from all artists today. God dammit I love this man.
