well, she was brutally killed while she was pleading for help and anticipating for troops to save her. I am sure she began to hate her fate in their hands to the very point that she thought that Elune and those siding her cause betrayed her. Derek Proudmoore in other hand has been dead for around 30-40 years. He was so long gone, and kept his innocence as a human being, so it would probably be hard to turn him. Perhaps only thing that made him hard to turn is because he wanted to see his family again, despite knowing how bad he looks now. I am certain there will be a moment when Jaina and Derek will see each other again.

yeah, in the horde's war campaign a tide sage is turned forsaken by a val'kyr and the first thing he wants to do is go back to his old life, here for some reason, they are immediately blindly loyal to Sylvanas

Lot's of games do this, for example the imperial city in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion is meant to house upwards of 100,000 people but in game it's like 60 nameless npcs, a couple of guards and like 5 homeless people.
lore wise the humans are one of the biggest parts of the alliance. while the night elves are one of the smallest. but yet the anduin refused to help them. just like his father refused to help them in Cata. But this time anduin send those same forces they refused to send to the night elves, to the very orc that pulled the trigger that killed off 90% of the night elves.
flameknightdragon Lorewise humans are actually one of the smallest compared to the night elves, especially after Theramore, Southshore, and ESPECIALLY Lordaeron. The Night Elf population is definitely larger than the humans alongside the blood elves, trolls, tauren, and goblins. In Cataclysm, Varian, at the summit of the Night Elves, helped them intensely in the battle for Ashenvale and pushed Garrosh out (albeit temporarily) when he tried to use Northrends Magnataurs against them. Did you not read Wolfheart?

The night elves were always savages; blizzard has just done a terrible job in showing it since World of Warcraft came out. in WC3 Grommash described them as "Perfect warriors".

You can blame BfA's systems for the negative comments since launch, but the reason I quit is the story. WotLK was so epic. Northend as enemy territory, the factions struggling to take a hold at the shore, devastating and hopeless fights on the continent and finally the last desperate assaults opening a small gap for tired heroes. Now its just full of saturday morning evildoers and some special "heroes" with anime like superpowers that can be everywhere at the same time "because portals". The world feels small and its not because of the size, but because of ridiculous transitions and faction leaders doing everything themselves. Its just so cheesy now
She was the leader of the Wardens while Maiev was gone, which means she was one of the best commanders available on either side, so yeah, it makes sense.

Shandris Feathermoon is low-key the most underrated Elite Boss on the Nightelves/Alliance and half way through this campaign she's forgotten about. Cool story & animations but a lil disappointed with Shandris getting shafted again. My only hope now is they have bigger plans for her later.

I hate how they're turning all priests to some other class, Priest -> Paladin (Orderhall) or Priest -> Night warrior, High Inquisitor -> 4 Riders. I don't think blizzard like priests...
Tyrande was never a typical preist, she was always as much of a warrior as she was a preist, And given how much magic she's throwing around here I'd asume she's still the high preist of elune. she's just also a night warrior.
The horde is the only true monarchy; the alliance operates as allied kingdoms while the horde acts subservient to their warchief. It's why we must end them... Varian's biggest mistake was walking away at Orgrimar

My opinion is horde is mostly tribal society kept together by common enemy besides other things. Belvs, Forsaken and gobs are not tribes but they can be viewed as clan like factions. As the boy king, in medieval ages, there were examples of young kings being manipulated and "ordered" around by their subordinate nobleman, so that's nothing unbelievable.
I just realized something, the night elves' strength grows even though their numbers slowly decreasing. Which makes them one of the best races in the whole world of Azeroth.

I thought "Night King" in GoT was a lazy name, but "Night Warrior" is even worse. Maybe Blizz could make Malfurion the "Death Killer" and then the team up with Anduin, now known as the "Power Justice Man of Light".
The Night Warrior's significance got deflated tho moment it was borne, since now every single night elf in the game is apparently a night warrior. a supposedly super fucking powerful champion of Elune. Now just another meaningless re-skin.

If they were honest and showed forsaken as brainwashed then sure, as it stands now we need more undead who care about things they had in life and would rather fight Sylvanas for revenge and stuff like that. Face it, the alliance are the biggest liabilities on the planet. Just wait until Sylvanas raises Garrosh or better yet an old god.

We need not fear the night elves." I can remember those days still so vividly when even the legion took all the preparations before facing the night elves (from first corrupting the forests, to taking the orcs and killing Cenarius) and still lost even when the night elves were aided only by a very small group of human survivors and a splintered Orc. The night elves are not pushovers. By Elune's Grace! I'm glad I remained in Warcraft 3. While I still like the way blizzard tells their stories, it requires more and more suspension of disbelief with every release. I just come back for the cutscenes and the nostalgia.

Am I the only one actually worrying about this? Honnestly I play horde but I've also played alliance before, seeing Tyrande saying those words 'Your darkest face' and then watching pyromancer's video about Elune having a huge problem, I think some shit is about to happen. And it is the same with Alleria, everyone has recently been pointing their fingers at Sylvanas, but guys, eventhough lots of her recent actions were questionable or even pure evil (and I admit as a Horde player), shit is about to hit the Alliance hard, whether this is Alleria or Tyrande, we all know the alliance can't always be written as being the nice guys and all while the horde is always messing things up, and we all know something is going to happen. Because so far, shit has only hit the horde, it's about to hit the alliance as well. One or the other, Alleria or Tyrande are both or only one of them going to loose control of the powers they acquired. What do you guys think? (ps: go see pyromancer's video about Elune first so you can understand my concern).

Elune is very likely the Goddess of Death, the shadowlands seems to be a very active place this expansion. Between Bwonsamdi and Sylvanas making huge powerplays (also the Lich King, but this isn't new), the revelation that Odin's Valkyr are the ones who have been rezzing us everytime we clock out, and the fact that Vol'jin was killed, and then ascended to loa status, by TWO DIFFERENT powerful beings that are not Bwonsamdi, Sylvanas, or Eyir, dark times are coming indeed.

Lot's of games do this, for example the imperial city in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion is meant to house upwards of 100,000 people but in game it's like 60 nameless npcs, a couple of guards and like 5 homeless people.
lore wise the humans are one of the biggest parts of the alliance. while the night elves are one of the smallest. but yet the anduin refused to help them. just like his father refused to help them in Cata. But this time anduin send those same forces they refused to send to the night elves, to the very orc that pulled the trigger that killed off 90% of the night elves.
flameknightdragon Lorewise humans are actually one of the smallest compared to the night elves, especially after Theramore, Southshore, and ESPECIALLY Lordaeron. The Night Elf population is definitely larger than the humans alongside the blood elves, trolls, tauren, and goblins. In Cataclysm, Varian, at the summit of the Night Elves, helped them intensely in the battle for Ashenvale and pushed Garrosh out (albeit temporarily) when he tried to use Northrends Magnataurs against them. Did you not read Wolfheart?

The night elves were always savages; blizzard has just done a terrible job in showing it since World of Warcraft came out. in WC3 Grommash described them as "Perfect warriors".

You can blame BfA's systems for the negative comments since launch, but the reason I quit is the story. WotLK was so epic. Northend as enemy territory, the factions struggling to take a hold at the shore, devastating and hopeless fights on the continent and finally the last desperate assaults opening a small gap for tired heroes. Now its just full of saturday morning evildoers and some special "heroes" with anime like superpowers that can be everywhere at the same time "because portals". The world feels small and its not because of the size, but because of ridiculous transitions and faction leaders doing everything themselves. Its just so cheesy now

Shandris Feathermoon is low-key the most underrated Elite Boss on the Nightelves/Alliance and half way through this campaign she's forgotten about.
Cool story & animations but a lil disappointed with Shandris getting shafted again. My only hope now is they have bigger plans for her later.

My opinion is horde is mostly tribal society kept together by common enemy besides other things. Belvs, Forsaken and gobs are not tribes but they can be viewed as clan like factions. As the boy king, in medieval ages, there were examples of young kings being manipulated and "ordered" around by their subordinate nobleman, so that's nothing unbelievable.

For all the alliances speeches, their self-righteous attitude and the idiotic idea that they are the saviors of azeroth. It was your races which drew the burning legion, your political hierarchies infiltrated by the black dragonflight, your church's leaders which turned out to be the head of the twilight cults, your night elf edgelord which enslaved the world of outland and your prince who became the lich king. The Horde on the other hand, dealt with and took ownership of their own corruption, our trolls which fought the old gods for 1000+ years at the height of the old god's powers and resisted their corruption and it was our leader and the only character in the history of warcraft to wield an old gods powers without succumbing to its corruption (Garrosh) and it was us who took down C'thun where your Night Elves decided just to close the doors and pretend he didn't exist. Face it, the alliance are the biggest liabilities on the planet. Just wait until Sylvanas raises Garrosh or better yet an old god.

The night elves are not pushovers. By Elune's Grace! I'm glad I remained in Warcraft 3. While I still like the way blizzard tells their stories, it requires more and more suspension of disbelief with every release. I just come back for the cutscenes and the nostalgia.

Am I the only one actually worrying about this? Honnestly I play horde but I've also played alliance before, seeing Tyrande saying those words 'Your darkest face' and then watching pyromancer's video about Elune having a huge problem, I think some shit is about to happen. And it is the same with Alleria, everyone has recently been pointing their fingers at Sylvanas, but guys, eventhough lots of her recent actions were questionable or even pure evil (and I admit as a Horde player), shit is about to hit the Alliance hard, whether this is Alleria or Tyrande, we all know the alliance can't always be written as being the nice guys and all while the horde is always messing things up, and we all know something is going to happen. Because so far, shit has only hit the horde, it's about to hit the alliance as well. One or the other, Alleria or Tyrande are both or only one of them going to loose control of the powers they acquired. What do you guys think? (ps: go see pyromancer's video about Elune first so you can understand my concern).

I guarded this assertion. We faught to bring Tyranda back. The night elves helped us survive our curse and gave us a home. Mess with I'm and you will have to deal with a huge pack of us.
Elune is very likely the Goddess of Death, the shadowlands seems to be a very active place this expansion. Between Bwonsamdi and Sylvanas making huge powerplays (also the Lich King, but this isn't new), the revelation that Odin's Valkyr are the ones who have been rezzing us everytime we clock out, and the fact that Vol'jin was killed, and then ascended to loa status, by TWO DIFFERENT powerful beings that are not Bwonsamdi, Sylvanas, or Eyir, dark times are coming indeed.
