Before liquid cooling, you should cut an opening in the bottom of the case where the fans should be drawing air in and glue some nylon mesh over the hole, Giving the fans relatively unrestricted airflow while having some dust prevention and see how much that improves thermals.

Sounds like a cooling mod by drilling a few small air holes over the top of the fans would do a lot to help with those in game and stress load test temperatures. I would suggest using something in the 1 to 2 mm ( 1/8 inch ) size to drill out a small pattern of holes over the tops of the 2 fans that would really do good to lower the temps and give those fans some room to breath.

In my experience trying to repaste my PS4, I have discovered that applying regular thermal paste on an exposed CPU dye results in something called the pump-out effect. It's basically when the thermal paste starts oozing from the sides of the chip due to expansion and compression along with a lack of friction.
It doesn't matter how much paste you apply or how you do it it will always come out from the sides.
The solution is to use a higher viscosity paste or for a more robust solution, you can use thermal grizzly carbonaut.
I used the latter and worked like a charm.

Awesome. What this told me is that for applications that max out the CPU/GPU, extra thermal paste and/or re-pasting or reseating your chips will not really lower chip temperatures, just as I expected. For 'regular' operations they might make your PC not work as hard with the fan, and you'll have less noise, but that's another story.

@Usman Bamgbola First 2 that came up on my local classifieds were $690 and $700 for gaming laptops. The $700 had a 1060 6gb and the $690 one had a 1050.

Seems like it would be a good multimedia entertainment center that can do some light/short term gaming. Just hook it up to a tv in anyone's living room or a motel room when you're on the go...

I would've used a hole saw and drilled holes the size of the fans on the intake portion of the case, then glued some mesh in, right where the fan intakes are and watch those temps fall.

That's one nice looking computer that pack a decent amount of power 👍
I wonder how the temperatures would look if it was raised a bit and a bunch of holes drilled in the bottom plate 🙂

I guess it's good that good computers are available out there you just have to look for them and be willing to pay the shipping and hope that there's no issues with it.

The mounting solution might need a bit of customising, but I'm sure a closed loop water cooling solution might sort out the heat issues.

This PC is actually kinda amazing... if you mod that bottom panel for better airflow (which couldn't possibly be that hard) you could easily bring those temps down a lot.

I'm amazed you didn't try the first obvious fix. To leave the back of it open so the fans don't choke. I'm looking forward for that and also some liquid metal....then finally move to water cooling.

You should drill holes in the case for better airflow

Hey I love you vids man! I think what you should do before testing is reinstall windows on the system and install the drivers because I feel like it would give a real test on the fps since it looks like they always do something sketch on the windows OS!

Maybe we can 3d print the lower part of the chassis and create a makeshift mount (also makeshift connector) for one 140mm PWM fan.
that should help with the airflow problem.

i would like to see the bottom plastic panel modified for better airflow to those dual fans. Just dremel a cut out and put some kind of mesh there. Or even just drill some holes if your lazy.
