  • Detailed review and test of the 2024 Genesis GV80 including the new coupe model, pricing, interior, driving and more.
The Genesis GV80 is currently the brand's largest SUV. It is available as a three-row traditional body or a new coupe variant added for 2024. Overseas, an electric supercharger is available but it doesn't work for right-hand drive so Australia soldiers on with a twin-turbo 3.5-litre petrol V6.
The GV80 is a rival to the Audi Q7 and Q8, Mercedes GLE, BMW X5 and X6 and more.

While I appreciate the driver attention warning sound is annoying, I’m very surprised you didn’t once mention to buyers that it can be turned off permanently.
You not mentioning that implies to potential buyers they’re stuck with it and that’s not the case at all.

I think a lot of people in the comments are mistaking australian dollars for united states dollars. This GV80 coupe starts at around $70,000 in US dollars.

I’m starting to like Curt’s reviews. To me, the “Chasing Cars” brand (as pioneered by Tom) means reviews that pack in a lot of tangible information but still give that intangible sense of living with/owning the car. Curt nailed this one.

How hard can it be to give a buyer an option to have a full size spare if you want. A useful pov would be to put a full size in the boot and show how much space it takes up. Unless a full family trip a boot taking 2 medium suitcases does it.

Great review from you as usaul.
I see this car as 'faux luxury'. It looks good on the surface but misses the mark on what true luxury car shoppers want.
When I sit in the RX I feel that Lexus is offering a fresh, lighter, more modern/younger, less is more luxury. Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Cadillac..they all bring something tangible to the table. With all its newness I get a flashback to old Buick, old Mercedes luxury, here.
Hyundai/Genesis/Kia, instead of spending time perfecting their mediocre vehicles, think that they can just jump into the luxury space by impressing with bling.
Unfortunately, folks who are truly used to luxury are not biting. I mean, who wants to take their expensive luxury car to a low-budget Hyundai dealership for service? They're gonna have to do much better than this to improve their credibility in this space.

For that price I rather go for the SUVs that has the same technologies in a BMW that has almost twice or more horsepower like in the BMW X5 M or X6 M. This coupe only produces 300-375 horses. This a rip off in the $130,000.
    BMW X5M and X6M Competition- 617 hp with 553 lb-ft of torque twin turbo. $128,195 - $146,345
    2025 GV80 Coupe - 375 horsepower with 391 lb-ft torque - $149,330.
Wait until the new 2025 X5 and X6 come sout and still blows this out the water. If this Suv coupe was like $70,000-$80,000 then yes. This would be a great deal. Cause the wide screens and technologies already existed in the 2023 models of the BMWs for $90,000.
