    I had to rewind this video to confirm that you in fact workout. How?!?! You are amazing! I do not have twins, but am navigating my toddler and baby, and their needs this school year. All I can say is that i’m exhausted and it’s only week two. I would love to see more on how you schedule life in general, as it’s helpful and encouraging. Rock on mama!

      My first two were 15 mos apart and the toddler-and-baby-at-the-same-time stage is truly exhausting!! You are doing great!!!

      Hey friend! You are doing great! The toddler and baby stages are so busy. Haha, and just because working out is on the schedule doesn't mean I always get to it :)

    I am such a schedule and routine kind of person. As much as I'd like to be more spontaneous and carefree, I feel more secure and prepared and happy when I know what comes next. I think we have a really good homeschool schedule for this year. So far so good!

    Planning around what you CAN and CAN'T realistically get done with your little ones around is very wise. I would definitely be interested in what quiet time activities you have found that can keep them quiet and occupied individually for a solid hour--I have never yet found such activities for my little boys, haha! My youngest is starting to transition out of needing naps but it would still be nice to have a quiet time of sorts.

    My twin boys are going to be 4 next month and are going to part time preschool to help with my first year homeschooling my 5 year old… love the schedule tips you provided here! I especially don’t want them to feel like I want them out of the way but also agree that it tends to be chaotic with them here! 🤪

    I’m going to try this. I’m not a very organized person and I don’t like planning 🤣 But my son loves making list and he needs to know what we are doing during the day

    This is really good. I don't have twin toddlers nor can I imagine how busy life is with them but I do have 3 young kids. One being a toddler still. This schedule however, seems manageable as you have been able to outsource a bit with sending them part time to preschool and with grandparents. We have neither option with funds being tight and no family to rely on...which makes it a bit harder to juggle homeschooling with littles. You have encouraged me however to think outside the box. Thanks this is really good.

    I’d love to see your full schedule. I was just trying to figure out yesterday where to fit consistent exercise in my schedule. It always seems to fall off the list.

    I have a 6 and 4 year old and I have tried to implement “quiet time”, but it just doesn’t work out. My youngest can easily play quietly, but my oldest is a social butterfly and I just haven’t been able to figure out how to make this work for him. I feel so bad... he’s very social like his dad, whereas myself and our youngest enjoy quiet alone time. Ugh.

    ok please share your whole schedule. homeschool isn't a compartmentalized task. we all have MANY of the same things to get done. I'm a mom + fulltime student. I'm an exreligious kid and am always interested in what religious couples do (I grew up w/ morning bible etc) I think you should do a video of what relationship/mission building routines you wish you could share with secular couples. Imagine doing none of those things. I wish I could articulate as well. + truly as a person who will never return to faith I still find so much in common and know many of us are building to a common purpose of real respectful community etc. So many secular parents are being pushed to homeschool, and for values reasons! You speak in terms religious people fully understand. You can reach across more and I'm sure i've arrived at your vids from the "science" interest. Best of luck to you.

    Thanks for sharing! This was so helpful for me.. one question - when do you outdoor play? my kids love outdoors and I find it so hard starting school before 9.30am.

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  Рік тому

      Hi, they do a lot of their outside play in the afternoon or when I am working with a sibling. Our homeschool room is right by the sliding door so I can see everyone outside while I'm doing school :)

    How's your schedule for this 2023-2024 school year? How did you manage when you had 2 years olds or babies?

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  11 місяців тому +1

      Haha, I have a rough schedule idea ... but I want to test it out before sharing :) My kids are all pretty close in age, so when my oldest was 5 my twins were just turning 2 ... so we pretty much did Kindergarten when they napped! But, it was kindergarten, so I could easily fit it into nap time.

      @@sciencemama totally understand about wanting to test it out before sharing! I REALLY appreciate all your videos. They are some of the most helpful ones on UA-cam! We're homeschooling our 3rd and Kindergartener this year with a 2 year old and newborn in tow...and I only homeschooled my oldest for Kindergarten, so I feel like it's a whole new level for 3rd grade. I'm praying for peace and flexibility this year!
      We're using LOE Foundations (for kindergartener) and Essentials (3rd grader) and Sonlight Science B! I'm so excited and your videos on those helped so much in finalizing those decisions.

    I can't imagine putting my 4 year old in a room alone and closing the door and telling them they can't come out for an hour and a half. 🤷

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  Рік тому +1

      Hi April, they for the most part really enjoy the time to play with an activity box! I'm also right there if they need anything and they can come out and use the potty - they just can't play with each other! By no means did I means to make it sound like a punishment or a terrible time for them.

    • @aprilhutchens2105
      @aprilhutchens2105 Рік тому

      @@sciencemama it just seems like a bad look from their perspective. They have to spend extended daily alone time AND go to preschool AND go off with grandparents and all the while big siblings get to stay with Mama. 🤷

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  Рік тому +2

      @@aprilhutchens2105 I can see how it may look that way. Haha, they actually ask when their quiet time starts because they like morning quiet time. That way they have special time with mom when the big kids do quiet time in the afternoon. Quiet time has always been a part of my kids life, I don't feel like they feel pushed aside. I think it is healthy for them to have some time to quiet their bodies and quiet their minds and learn how to self entertain a bit. But, I can also respect other families doing things a different way :)
