Great resources and ideas! I absolutely LOVE teaching homeschool preschool! Kids are so eager and soak it up! 🥰

Preschool might look different for each kid in your family. A first born might not be as interested in doing anything school related because they don’t have older siblings to see doing school. But younger siblings might want to participate earlier, so just find things that will interest them.

Learning this first hand with my 7yr old and my 1 yr old. My baby already grasps a pencil PERFECTLY . When my 7yr old held a pencil perfectly at 5 😅

We have been using Blossom and Root Early years and that has been a lot of fun and nature based. Great book selections as well :)

I’m leaning towards Gentle + Classical for my 4th child. I’m a little worried like you mentioned that it will be too time consuming, but I just can’t get past wanting to use it! And he’s my last child to preschool. We used TGTB preschool with my 3rd child which was a hit. Also used Rod and Staff ABC and GHI series with my oldest that are twins. And I def feel for my kids younger kids that they want that special time with mom more then they care about doing school cause she won’t let big sister help her! It has to be mom. She’s been begging and doing ‘School’ since she was 3! I didn’t push or care that nothing was sticking she was getting her little love cup filled up and that’s what mattered.

I JUST saw a video today on Gentle + Classical! It looks amazing. But same. I have a struggling ADD 7yr old. He requires a lot of time. My preschooler seems likes he’s going to be a very independent and driven learner. But obviously will still need 1x1

I also think your child will give cues on being ready. I was trying to start my 4 year old when he was 3 and it was not happening. Then once he turned 4 he started being much more curious about learning. Asking questions about letters or what something says. Trying to count by himself. If we could do some sort of project. So thats when I figured he was ready. And we went with Gentle + Classical Preschool! We love it and want to continue for as many grades as we can.

Hi! My son will be almost 3 in the fall and I got a play and learn curriculum to see his readiness for lessons or activities. He's got a bit of speech delayed that's why I chose the play and learn curriculum for this year. I'm thinking of doing a round 2 of preschool next year with sonlight and G+C preschool (instead of pre-k) but I'm overthinking that will make our school 'delayed'. 😞

You won't be delayed ... I think following his lead is always the best idea! And if he starts to really catch on you can always add more midway through the year!
