The revolver is my favorite weapon solely because of the love and care put into its animation work. Individual reload animations depending on the rounds left in the chamber is absurdly good attention to detail. Love and passion in any media is unbelievably important, yet so often overlooked in any form of art, especially video games.
As someone who has been a fan of 40K since high school, the way you’ve helped bring all these weapons to life is incredible. Lasguns, chain weapons, power weapons, psyker staves, flamers, plasma guns. All 40K weapons I’ve dreamed of seeing properly brought to life on screen. And my god, you absolutely nailed it. Fantastic work, man. The Emperor protects.
The amazing part is seeing them do even _autoguns_ so well. Like.... you expect them to do lasguns and bolters well, those are some of the most iconic parts of 40k, but autoguns are kinda the redheaded stepchild of this universe. You see lots of Imperial Guard novels practically laughing at them. And yet, they're depicted so..._powerfully._ So faithfully.
God dam these are so good, I hope they’re able to bring you back for future weapon animations because this might be some of the best weapon animations I’ve seen in any game period

I do love all of these thoroughly. But the absolute tinest of gripes that has plauged me with Darktide is the Kantrael Lasgun... Where did the animations go that was for it in the pre-launch build and betas before that? It was alot slower and less 'tactical' than it is today. Alot of weight to it and I feel had much more variety when you swapped to it, flicking off the safety and grabbing it and so on. Today it just whips out like a spear when you equip it, way way faster and throwing it around. The reloading especially are also less varied and are just executed in and out, very quick. Though I have seen that your guy can kinda fuck up once and gets stuck reloading with the powerpack for a moment, something again that I feel the older animations had alot more of. Wouldn't it make sense to give that older animation to the Preachers and Psykers that clearly dont have as much Lasgun experience as the Veteran would have for this new faster disciplined way of handling the weapon? Otherwise, everything else has been nailed down spot on!

Blocky tabletop rectangles have never had such satisfying sense of weight before, love all of it man ❤️

Should have totally got some enemies to hit with the melee, maybe a Mauler - impact animation is also worth showing off imo
The plasmagun is by an outstanding work and sound design. Along with the boltgun
1:50 I like how they can't keep the shotgun perfectly still as you can see the trigger slowly going off-screen.
