The Special Edition for WIndows 95 had even longer editions of the songs in the same quality. Not to mention the game disc also doubled as a listenable music CD (most of the 'tracks' are the voice saying the title of the game but the level tracks are also present; I was able to pull the tracks into my iTunes).
I have no idea why they didn't use the original redbook audio version of the soundtrack in the HD version. They had high quality music ready to go, as good as any rendition of the score was ever going to get.
This game is actually pretty important. The Windows 95 port (not DOS! That version is worse) was notable for being the first game to use DirectX, and it plays just like this version.
In 1995 and 1996 I looked all over for this game. I used to ask in FuncoLand every time I went. I wonder what the print run was, even the Lunar games and Dark Wizard I could find in stores. To this day I have never seen this game other than in pics. I did finally get to play an iso in my sega cd like twelve years later. Shame, I would've loved this version when I was 13.
+Rovi Decena well I always had the Genesis version. I still have it boxed intact. I'm talking about the Sega CD special edition in the vid here. It had extra levels, a new weapon, and the soundtrack is amazing. The HD remake that came out in 2010 didn't even have the extra levels. They are exclusive to the sega cd version.
+sladekiske Interesting you should say this, I had been looking for the game for years. I didn't even know it existed back in the day, but I didn't have a Sega CD growing up. I did have a Genesis and SNES though. That being said, just TODAY, I found a copy at a used game store in Ohio. It was $80 and I gladly paid it. It goes for over $100 regularly on eBay, so I was pleased. Glad to finally have this in my collection.
It was easily one of my most exciting pickups in recent memory. Couldn't believe I found it. I noticed it LITERALLY the second I stepped in the front door. I'm a dork, but my heart kind of skipped a beat. And in another shocking turn of events, it was MINT. Just a few marks on the case, but overall crystal clear, no cracks, and foam in the case. You can't ask for better condition than this. Apparently a guy traded his whole Sega CD collection in, and took supreme care of it. I had most of the other Sega CD games he traded in, other than Popful Mail, and Keio Flying Squadron. Keio had a $700 price tag on it. Apparently, this dude had every rare game for the system and he thought the best thing to do was to trade it in? I shudder to think what they offered him.
While a fantastic run, I'm completely flabbergasted at the number of people who don't know that the whip does twice as much damage as gunshots, thus it often one shots lesser foes, and can even cause bosses to become stunlocked, such as in the case with the snowman (which I'm glad he showed).
The entrance of the first level implies that that school bus crashed into the junkyard and the kids fell into the spike pit below. There's a lot of really ridiculous details like that in this game.
Nope, almost. Nintendo brought in Sony to help do just that, but there was a falling out between the companies, and Sony ran off with the prototype disc technology. That later became the original Playtation!
Does anybody know if in this game, if you wait and not launch the cow with the fridge, if Earthworm Jm says "moo" like a cow just like the other games?
I played this game for the first time today. When I first got to the main menu I went to options then back to the main menu. When I did that instead of playing the Earthworm Jim Special Edition voice it played a long clip of Jim talking saying that I was a master of this game for beating it on difficult. I hadn't even played it yet!
Anybody can beat this Sega cd Version. It has passwords for every level you beat. Try playing the Genesis Version without any passwords and all these levels. Snes is missing that 2nd too last level.
Thanks for uploading, never played this version thinking it was just the same as the SNES version I had. I can say now beside prettier music there at new stages as well, I like the other music more than this.
Last I checked, the meteor shower in 'For Pete's Sake!' was the hardest part to get through without taking damage. How long (or how many tries) did 'For Pete's Sake!' take you to complete that level without damage?
***** Why do you assume such? No damage runs aren't exactly unheard of, and him playing on emulator doesn't mean he used save states. I really don't know, though.
***** You evidently haven't seen the non-tool damageless runs of this game. "If these people want to prove they didn't use a tool then use a camcorder. But they never do... I wonder why." That proves absolutely nothing and is an inherently terrible way of recording, so that isn't a huge mystery.
I feel like the sound effects could be better here. They sound more compressed than the original Genesis version; let alone the Windows 95 port of this game.
Audiophiles will definitly care about the cd quality audio so they will nuy the sega cd version, i personaly don't really care as i am fine with the genesis version wich you also could play on the go with the nomad.
54:03.. I was totally NOT expecting that awesome dialog!

Bassotronics me 2
Bassotronics you’re the best.
RawbThatPunk Why would you say that?
My god, the music is amazing in this version.
The Special Edition for WIndows 95 had even longer editions of the songs in the same quality. Not to mention the game disc also doubled as a listenable music CD (most of the 'tracks' are the voice saying the title of the game but the level tracks are also present; I was able to pull the tracks into my iTunes).
But the controls/hit detection were worse in that one
Agreed. If the 360's HD version had this music, I would have bought it.
That's because Tommy Tallarico replaced Mark Miller. You can see these name in end titles in both versions.
I have no idea why they didn't use the original redbook audio version of the soundtrack in the HD version. They had high quality music ready to go, as good as any rendition of the score was ever going to get.
I love this version so much compared to the original 16 bit version I played.
The music and sound in this version is awesome too.
I think this is the best version out there.
That's incredible! Usually, I don't watch walkthroughs, but this... I couldn't resist! :D
Thank you!
The Big Bruty level looks nightmare inducing.

OMG! THE SOUNDTRACK IS AWESOME
Holy shit...you are really the best :D
TAS helps, I guess.
This game is actually pretty important.
The Windows 95 port (not DOS! That version is worse) was notable for being the first game to use DirectX, and it plays just like this version.
this game is the most random, weird, gross, fun, horrific, beautiful, akward thing the man has ever created.
Wow dude! Fantastic job on this. It's a fairly hard game, and you showed your nerdy-ness (and extreme skills) =) hats off! Gold Star!
Unbelievable... a long play of this game flawlessly (i.e. with no damage)! That’s impossible! No has ever done that before until now!
The music. Holy, fuckin', shit! So great
Can you hear the SONAR..the sound of imminent death!!!
WE MEET AGAIN MY OLD NEMESIS - TUBE RACE !!!
Games should've stayed this way!
What way? There are still 2D run n guns and wacky games being made.
You made it look so dang easy...

A special edition with arrangled Music and Surpising Upgrades
Released in 1995 due The Animated series'Hit & Success
As thrilled as I was to play this on the genesis mini after so many absent years, this version would be a trip to experience.
How do people even think of stuff like this..
It's amazing.
As are your skills at this game
At 41 seconds during the pelvic thrust, his gun holster looks like his gun
Well played.
Greetings I send you from ARGENTINA Villa Mercedes
The underwater part of the game feels like some kind of a weird inspiration for Bioshock's Rapture... lol.
Number lore voice acting comfirmed. 12:18
Your For Pete's Sake skills are a work of art.
And then you made him fall in a hole while you rocketed away. 😆
The Big Bruty level is really creepy...
This guy has a lot patience. For Pete's Sake was a hard level.
What so special about EarthWorm Jim Special Edition
It has better soundtrack now on CD, an extra level along with Instestinal Distrees, Passwords and 2 endings depending on the chosen difficulty
In 1995 and 1996 I looked all over for this game. I used to ask in FuncoLand every time I went. I wonder what the print run was, even the Lunar games and Dark Wizard I could find in stores. You can play the SNES and Genesis version online.

+Buapo super NICE dude! I sure hope it was intact and in good condition.
It was easily one of my most exciting pickups in recent memory. Couldn't believe I found it. I noticed it LITERALLY the second I stepped in the front door. I'm a dork, but my heart kind of skipped a beat.

In the SNES version, Peter`s second house is a castle.
Explains the tower like buildings in the second game a lot better!
13:15 I do not remember this level
Do you not play sega cd version?
While a fantastic run, I'm completely flabbergasted at the number of people who don't know that the whip does twice as much damage as gunshots, thus it often one shots lesser foes, and can even cause bosses to become stunlocked, such as in the case with the snowman (which I'm glad he showed).
Had this game for the Genesis. Never made it past "Down the Tubes" (plus it didn't have the previous level). I sucked badly xD
To think this company made the original Fallout games.
IamtheCourier published only
Love what you did with Peter puppy at the end of Pete's sake. Fuck that dog and that level.
One of the Best orinal game of the 16bit era. Best version
Is TAS right ?
The entrance of the first level implies that that school bus crashed into the junkyard and the kids fell into the spike pit below. There's a lot of really ridiculous details like that in this game.
O.o could you point more of them out to me?
The music is incredible. They coulda used it in the HD ports for ps3 and stuff. The 1 thing i thought would also be improved is the sound effects..

JEEBUS CRUSPIES
Special edition!
Как так?! ты же играл на Playstation, а теперь на Sega CD.
I had no idea this version existed. It looks like there was some additional content not seen in the Genesis version.
The chicken boss fight is extremely difficult and you just finished it without losing health.. insane
13:05 Exclusive Level
Did SNES also have a CD add-on?
no
Nope, almost. Nintendo brought in Sony to help do just that, but there was a falling out between the companies, and Sony ran off with the prototype disc technology. That later became the original Playtation!
😀Um dos melhores games p/Sega CD junto bom Sonic CD,Final Fighter,e MK🤩

*_Groovy!_*
Он просто был рожден чтоб пройти эту игру!!! Мега круто, выше всяких похвал! )
They should’ve made a special edition port for the PS1 also.
Does anybody know if in this game, if you wait and not launch the cow with the fridge, if Earthworm Jm says "moo" like a cow just like the other games?
Azumarill_TF2 launch cow by fridge yes
that didn't help much...but ok
Azumarill_TF2 It is in the remix version. Earthworm Jim first I think.
I played this game for the first time today. When I first got to the main menu I went to options then back to the main menu. When I did that instead of playing the Earthworm Jim Special Edition voice it played a long clip of Jim talking saying that I was a master of this game for beating it on difficult. I hadn't even played it yet!
Such an interesting glitch!
I'm so glad I played this on the Mega SG.
Крутая игра У меня даже картридж с такой игрой есть я ещё его не испытал я его только купил
Andy asteroids = *IM A ROCKET MAN*
The motivational spoken message was so unexpected!
One of the hardest games ever.
Jade Only when you didn't play this game in years then it's hard.
Yeah I haven't played it in years, then I played (and finished) the Sega CD version yesterday. Feels so good to beat it :D
***** I wish my Sega CD works. Also I've sold my Special Edition for money. Such a dumb mistake for me.
Just use an emulator :) works perfectly for me.
This game feels like a wet dream Ed from Ed, Edd, n Eddy had or something. xD
pure awesomeness!!
Lol I love the AI WIN in asteroid level. I should put that as notification ringtone
Да в те времена Томми Таларико жёг напалмом!
You are the best Earthworm Jim ! I love you !
I wonder if I can play this better than I did back then...never did beat it. Good job BTW.
Anybody can beat this Sega cd Version. It has passwords for every level you beat. Try playing the Genesis Version without any passwords and all these levels. Snes is missing that 2nd too last level.
best sound sega cd
29:17 more like Level 6
Thanks for uploading, never played this version thinking it was just the same as the SNES version I had. I can say now beside prettier music there at new stages as well, I like the other music more than this.
Javotnae: I well drawing earthworm jim
This game is hard, amazing skills!
You are VERY good at this game
HES THE BEST!
What format do you use cause when I try using the iso it doesn’t boot
Are you on PC? Did you download the Iso from the Sega CD or the Windows 95 Iso?
This game is hard as sin but super great.
Last I checked, the meteor shower in 'For Pete's Sake!' was the hardest part to get through without taking damage. How long (or how many tries) did 'For Pete's Sake!' take you to complete that level without damage?
One. If you want to take no damage in Special Edition, you just need to shoot diagonally up. Shooting right is optional.
Didn't he do this in one sitting? :P
TechnologyChild I assume that save states were used only at the beginning of each level.
***** Why do you assume such? No damage runs aren't exactly unheard of, and him playing on emulator doesn't mean he used save states.
I really don't know, though.
***** You evidently haven't seen the non-tool damageless runs of this game.

That proves absolutely nothing and is an inherently terrible way of recording, so that isn't a huge mystery.
nice game in old days ....any addition ps4. ..funny game in idea's. ...play station company need to make one

GOOD WORK !!!
I gaming this version in my childhood ^^
The audio is AMAZING!!!!
Well, it's CD quality after all.
I love the music on earthworm jim sega cd
I feel like the sound effects could be better here. They sound more compressed than the original Genesis version; let alone the Windows 95 port of this game.

Just impressive
U’re the best.
червяк джим на одном уровне с топовыми диснеевскими играми, такими как микки маус, алладин итп.. а возможно, даже лучше их всех, но недооцененная
The Sega CD is better than the HD edition from PS3 and Xbox360.
Man those sfx sound crusty as hell
AWESOME!!
I'm surprised, you're awesome!😯
0:57 dab?
Oh god stop please
Audiophiles will definitly care about the cd quality audio so they will nuy the sega cd version, i personaly don't really care as i am fine with the genesis version wich you also could play on the go with the nomad.
