Young lady, you are just a marvel !!! I know you do but listen to everything your Dad tells you as he is a mind of information. That is a super idea. Very well done from Nice France
@@karenmoynihanfarm you are very welcome I am an Older Irish guy living and working in France I have taken on an Olive grove of about 55 trees and I have planted 150 wine vines in between them. All the locals think I am crazy but sure what the hell. My sisters said that I should be retired but we Irish don’t like to sit around and watch paint dry. At this time of my life I don’t get enough time to work in the garden but it’s a tonic for me now. I know you work very hard but it’s in you. And your Dad is a special inspiration for you. Another delightful video 🙂 It was good to see dad and daughter working together . Using the water barrels to protect the licks show just how switched on and innovative you are. I did smile at how the cow had her head in the barrel enjoying the lick as soon as you had finished securing it. . Also good to see you have the courage of your own convictions and top the weeds and rushes against your dads thoughts.
Well done Karen, I admire your ability to have a go at anything.... I think that your Senior Management at Aldi should recognise your obvious communication and visual talents and make you the Aldi face of Ireland...❤
Ingenious idea with the water barrel to pick bucket protection, you're your father's daughter for sure Loads of competence, just need a bit more confidence young lady Fabulous update again Geoff
Hi Karen I watch your videos in a sporadic manner . So I don't know what happened your Dad . Hope he is doing ok . Not to be morbid , I am from a big family , but I spent many years with dad on the farm . When he passed away in 2009... Lord I missed him so much , sometimes I thought I'd see him standing with his fork .... So enjoy all and every moment with your dad , even when he's grumpy .
My daughters and now granddaughters tell me all the time, you trust me to do the work, then let me. They may not do everything the way I do things, however I've come to understand that's all right.

Hi Karen, Great video. When I first saw the lick bucket, my initial thought was they are a no-no with TB in the area. But your idea with the water barrels and using the poles was a brilliant one. Every day is a school day, I might look into using lick buckets again. Fair play.
Interesting video young lady. One bit of advice, learn to use a grinder with the handle mounted on the left hand side. How you were using the grinder with the wheel spinning towards you (The sparks were going away from you and thus giving away the direction of rotation) will result in a snag/snatch which could result in an injury and or damage to the disc and or grinder. Always, have the disc spinning away and direct the sparks to the ground. You will have more control because you can feel how the cutting action is working and have more time to react. The way you were cutting, you have very little control over the grinder. Grinders are one of the most dangerous tools in the workshop. At least you did have a handle mounted and the guard, just using it all wrong. Please do not be tempted to bin the handle or guard.
Hi Karen thanks for another great video. You have got to love the diy videos with Karen 😊 just look what you can make with a barrel, but great farmer ingenuity. They should do the job a treat, the 135 and the 390 in the same video your spoiling us. Certainly looked better when you had topped it thanks again take care and be safe 👍 😊.
Your positivity and enthusiasm for getting the job done is refreshing. I hope I can find some when my alarm goes at 5.30am 😂 it will be interesting to see if the lick buckets are beneficial. Enjoyable video as usual
Nice solution with those buckets. Handy with the two tractors not having to switch all the time. I’ve got the heat coming on here now too. Not looking forward to it. I do batter when it’s cool.
I'm curious what the anti-topper arguments may be? Compaction may be one but less of an issue if you used the 135. Machinery wear and tear I guess also.
how you doing karen. busy busy busy. good on you all. hopefully you managed to get some karen time on youre bank holiday monday over there. england has two in may. start and finish of may. bit crazy . keep smiling and happy. go karen and go on kerry for the sam maguire.
Was thinking you were going to cut a hole in the lid and set them in and the deer hopefully wouldn’t reach them, then you cut them in half and thought well they’ll definitely reach them now as the deer was deemed the culprit.
Yes she has a condition with her leg that I can't remember the name off but her leg doesn't bend although the heat we've had over the past week seems to have really suited her and she's been moving a lot better. it's a pity though

Hello Lasse. 👋 from middle earth 🌎. Can u do a video of the Badger? A bit of wildlife would b nice. 🦡🦔🦊cheers 🍻
Great video as always the cows were so funny watching you do the barrels and went right to it when you were done ❤
Hi Karen that was a lovely video of you girl 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Were did you get that new shiny hammer
Good video Karen, good idea with the water butts, that a fine generator ye have in the workshop
Great video Karen. Your better off topping to keep on top of the weeds the fields look better afterwards
Great vid today. Good idea Karen
Great job on the lick bucket protection. It should be a good job!
Great video Karen, I thought I heard you talk about a loader for the 390, what brand would you go with, thanks have a blessed evening
I've gone to see one I just need to wait a while to get it fitted. I'm terrible but I can't remember the make 🙈
Good idea for the lick buckets.how is the 390 goin for u karen.u goin well in it doin the topping.best of luck with it.
All going well thanks. I don't know myself with it
Keep up the Great Work Karen.
Wonderful job

I’ve got the heat coming on here now too. Not looking forward to it. I do batter when it’s cool.
You are familiar with the safety rules when working with a hand grinder.❤
I love how those cows watch you working :D
would u not try a metal cage angle iron etc surround it in galvanise maybe or pallets maybe
Another great video Karen but never underestimate the effen badgers. They can eat clean through doors. I hope they don’t get at the licks!
😳😳 I'll be keeping an eye on the trail camera
Best video yet Karen , you seem more natural on the camera on this one , great job 👍👍👍👍
Thank you 😊
I'm curious what the anti-topper arguments may be? Compaction may be one but less of an issue if you used the 135. Machinery wear and tear I guess also.
He says it checks the grass too much and puts us under pressure but my arguement is that it takes longer to come back but it comes back much better
From the rear the fertilizer spreader looks like a happy puppy waging its tail
I saw that and burst out laughing. It's just as you said.
🤣🤣
Another fab Video, you are insperation
Karen, thank you for another good video!
I'm the same as you topping all the time 😂. Place just looks better 😎😎. Hope u weren't late home this evening 🤪

On the subject of rushes, I cut the few I had every couple of weeks, and it looks as if I have killed them. Well they are not growing anymore.
lick the new re growth, great job..
Cool video!! Hope your hay day is a plentiful one🤞
Just wondering are ur fields near a big football pitch as I do see some floods lights in de background of some of ur video's
Yes they are
Keep on topping! 😊
I agree 😅
Good thinking, great job. Just wondering will the bull still fancy the cows with garlic breath? 🤷🏼😬
Luckily I don't have a bull so the girls don't need to worry about it 🤣🤣
@@karenmoynihanfarm should’ve given them a Colgate lick
Was thinking you were going to cut a hole in the lid and set them in and the deer hopefully wouldn’t reach them, then you cut them in half and thought well they’ll definitely reach them now as the deer was deemed the culprit.
if the deer can't reach them, the yearlings can't reach them. I can't stop deer from drinking out of the water either unfortunately
great video have you a cow gone lame thaught i sean one limping when you did the buckets
Was it a brown cow with white legs at 6:21 in the video?
@@aletakey3600 608 its stood behind light brown cow

@@karenmoynihanfarm well she is a nice lookin cow please dont think i was having a go i know they mean a lot to ya
If you put the lick bucket into a tyre that’ll stop the cattle turning upside down
I don't have a tyre 😅
Be careful with angle grinders. You're using it upside down.. As mad as it seems the sparks should be going toward you.
Superb solution to that lick buckets (still need to google what they are) 😂
😅😅
You must 100% be farming in another country I can't remember when last it rained now xD
10 days ago 😅
This farm would be ideal for a solis 50 just the right size and 4wd
I am new to your channel. Where do you work (off farm) ?
Hi, I'm a retail area manager
Get you girl...
Hi there karen get yourself an hydrulic toplink for the 390 while they are a bit expensive it will make life a whole lot easier
Amazing how easy it is to watch a video without bulls hit. Well done karen others watch and dont post videos
Surely topping is necessary, you cant allow the weeds to take over and they look bad in a field. Its also therapeutic looking at someone doing it.
I completely agree
Hope they keep the critters out
😍🥰😘❤🔥
Sorry to here your windy there lol
That's there..Not There...!!!!
🤣🤣🤣
5:43 U got also live audience 😂
Always 😅
🆒 Video Karen...!!!!!
Remember put nail holes in bottom let's rain water out
It has a hole where the tap was so no need. A bit of water will give it some weight and keep it in place
Neice lady
Karen you are great, I am in awe of your work on the farm. If you don't mind me asking, what is your daytime job. Love watching you in Co. Antrim.
😀🚜👍
Karen, make sure to wash out those barrels before use, if they had been used before. Just in case there was chemicals stored in them.
You might be able to make a business out of making, and selling those feeders
I'd get too many complaints for shoddy work 🤣
👀🙄🐾👍
Oi👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Correction to my last comment. Railcar should read trail cam. Bloody autocorrect 😂
I surprisingly knew what you meant 🤣
Mind reader 😂😂😂
Might be worth setting up the trail camera anyway to make sure they don’t get into it :). You never know .
That's exactly what I've done actually. Hopefully I can share an update soon although hopefully not because that will mean there's nothing around
Well your only brilliant, animal husbandry, construction work and now fabrication of eating vessels for your livestock. Keep up the good work. Mna na heireann
