Hi! Do you know what happened to Pluto and the other dog? I feel bad I don’t remember his/her name. I haven’t watched their videos in a long while. Thanks! 🙏
So happy there will be some new calves on the property this summer. I hope all will be well for the ladies. Thanks for sharing. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Congrats on the baby Go 20 x 20 so you have plenty of room to move around and put the shoot in the middle so that if anything happens you have room to get around
You may not want the slab perfectly flat. A small pitch to promote drainage. Undoubtedly you will need to hose it down. A cow is going to do what a cow does.
Congratulations 🎉 on Azalea! Al, PLEASE PLEASE attach the cattle squeeze to the concrete pad. An unruly cow could knock it over onto you! Another great video!
@@davidgetchell3633 I'm still waiting on Sheep and recommended High Fence Fallow Deer, who will eat up-to the last blade of grass ( Red Poppy Ranch Videos ) ( Hay feeds ) even better than Sheep, from my inexperienced viewpoint, but they Calf unattended and multiple like Rabbits, plus Run-about !
@@4Classie Good day 4Classie, I've seen the fencing Heath had to build for his deer and who knows what NH laws are to have deer. My thoughts, sheep eat grass but goats will eat all the new brush that is growing on the cleared land(keep the brush down), NOT pet goats like Hope and Daisy but MEAT GOATS, good for the land and good for the freezer, just my thoughts. Have a great day 4Classie !
Good morning Gina, Al and all the family and friends. This is good news, next year some new calves on the farm are all thanks to Country ! There will also be piglets and chicks and who knows what will show up. Congratulations Gina&AL, Thank you for ALL you do !!
What direction will the cattle enter? I don’t think you will have enough standing space. You may want a table to put stuff on while working the animals. See Cross Timbers Bison and watch them work their herd.
The aim of Squeeze is Cattle go in' and to exit is where gate leads towards Shop, so by design an animal can be taken thru the Squeeze and with gate opened' led into' and up a trailers ramp, as a stress-free all-aboard, with that Corral Gate closed the animal just exits the Squeeze !
Been watching a long time as I now recognize the turn off to Lowes as you drive down the road (without sound on). 😄. Congratulations on the upcoming new addition. Next comes the stress of naming it ! A contest maybe ?
Congratulations on the positive pregnancy! How exciting knowing she breaded with Country!🎉🎉🎉 you are really building a beautiful homestead and fine livestock! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
I just had my 4th baby.. this is my 3rd son, thru C-section on Nov 4th… so your title had me excited for you all… but a cow baby is just as special.. congratulations!
Congratulations a baby 🍼 calf now guess if boy or girl calf ... I think for excavator a blade bucket for leveling would be awesome just a suggestion ... Brutus helping all a pleasure to watch again Gina Oliver and Alan thanks 👍
Good morning Al and Gina! Hope you get another milk cow from Azalea! Love you are able to get some of these outdoor projects done before the ice and snow! Hugs from N.C..❤
Hey, if you take those puddles and you drain them out towards the side towards your other ditch, there's on that one part and then gravel them. It wouldn't make any difference every time you get watered in them. They'll still drain later, because it'll drain through the gravel
Shoulda just added fill dirt and covered with gravel, finishing, he would have had to dump dirt, then ignore for hours, then compacted the dirt ( avoiding mud making ) then added gravel, because' the low spot is from ditch not being deep enough, 'in that area' and instead of digging entire ditch deeper he needed earth built-up to defeat water from pooling !
Good Thursday mornin New Ham🐖Shire .... wasn't sure about putting the squeeze chute up against the fence. I was thinking that there could be times when you need to get on all sides of a critter for some reason or another? It's really funny watching Cookie🐮 and Azalea🐄sparring🤣 Have a very nice day AL, Gina & Olivia .... take care🚜
Scrape all your form boards and oil them with old oil, that way you keep the board's in good condition. If you are going to use small lengths, only cut up those that you need to.
It's so easy to get high and low spots while pouring concrete, I think you should put at least a 1" drop on your slab pour so water will automatically drain off towards the pasture, that way, no chance to get frozen puddles of ice that a cow may have to walk into and have a chance of slipping and falling inside of the shute
I’ve learned a lot watching Al and Gina. Was so happy when I could understand some of the construction talk about building a house! Thanks, the Lumnah!s!!!
From watching others videos I recommended Al consider Fiberglass Rebar, and he read my comment, it is cheaper, exceeds steels strength, ( code approved ) easier and being rust free better, a recent invention !
You really need to learn to pd cattle. I learned when I was a child and again when I went to agricultural college. Also keep a bottle of calcium borogluconate for when she calves just incase of twin lamb disease . I also give my cows two cans of milk stout after calving just something I learned from my grandfather.
Hey Al, what comes to mind is, if and when you might need to change the lower boards on the fence there might not be enough room to take out the screws. I guess I'm saying that pulling the cement slab away from the fence might have been advantage for that end. Oh well, there is a thousand ways to do something, yours is just one! lol
Al said Tanner avoids Brutus who as a puppy played too rough, Pluto mostly stays on Couch in house with Tanner ! Don't know if the two house Cats have met the two Barn kittens, but they kinda had to, it must be about if the girls want house Cats, now' cause Figaro was never comfortable in house, beyond warmth !
Goooooood mooooorning AL, Gina and Olivia fellow viewers and all my friends Hoodie from Jamaica 🇯🇲. 😢😢 boy, I am late for class today. I was in transit .
That hillside near Barn gets excavated for a Cold Cellar/ Potato Celler combination and maybe buried Cooler / Freezer so burying drain pipe isn't currently' beneficial !
Congrats on the calves that are coming. Your herd is growing fast. That wooden fence is looking great. You had a little mouse under the 2 by 4s. 😂Gina would not like that.
Good morning Lumnah family. Congratulations on the little baby calf. Can't wait to see it. Work is coming along on the new setup. I've enjoyed this stage of construction. Thanks for sharing
It would have been nice if Al and Gina were going to have another baby (with Olivia's consent, of course). I guess we'll have to make do with a calf! Getting the excavator and two tractors was a great investment. They have been invaluable in their quest to build their farm.

Suggestion on your concrete pad. Make an approach apron (slant) on the front and back fr easier walk up & exit for the cows.
