Just got one of these delivered. The bottom button is broken and will not reset the chronograph. The bezel is not fully snug and you can feel it rock side to side. Did no one check basic functionality before shipping? This is terrible. Following up on my Deepstar that was delivered defective to me. The bottom button will not reset the chronograph. I emailed Aquastar explaining this, asking for a return shipping label and a refund. They sent the following email: "thank you for your email, this sounds like you don’t have enough power reserve to operate the chronograph. Please insure you have wound the movement. Please also explain what you mean by “I am pushing the top button to stop the chronograph” and also “When I push the bottom button to reset the chronograph nothing happens” are you doing this at the same time or can you please elaborate.." I don't find it an appropriate response and am getting my credit card company involved.
Great video, very smartly made and interesting to learn all the Doxa and Acquastar history. I personally think the watch is stunning, loved it's history and already sent my down payment---this is coming from someone who has watches from Tudor, Rolex and Panerai in my collection.
Great story - a brand I'd not heard of. Its a superb looking piece - I think more wearable everyday than Doxa. I'd like to see it on a bracelet. I've seen Doxa in shops before (the excellent James Porter in Glasgow), but not got on with the Doxa bracelet. The irony is I'd probably not have sent the1500 I tried on back if I'd bought online, but I didn't buy in store - the double edged sword of customer try-on! I guess there's the question as to whether we need another reproduction diver (the problem seems to be a lack of well designed modern pieces...), but I like them, so the more the merrier! Good luck, Aquastar!
That is the problem for me with Doxa in the UK. The dealers (about 2) are many miles from me. Sure I can buy it from them or a few others online but that's all with the interest free credit tax/markup on them. Let's face it there is no such thing as interest free credit, it just means the retail price is bumped up 25%. I want to negotiate a better deal as I'd be buying in full. I did have a moan at Doxa saying I can buy a Omega/Rolex on any street corner. They said "Ah well that makes us more exclusive!" I replied "Well yes but that's also why Omega sell 400,000 watches a year and you sell 400 and no one knows who you are!" They then replied "Erm yes, well we are working on that!"
@@jabezhane you've hit the nail on the head! I think Doxa could sell a lot more watches if only their presentation on the Internet would be better. Especially the lack of adverts in any shape or form is harming sales! But I think that the Jenny family wants it that way! Don't ask me why anybody would want sales to dwindle!? But surely since Rick Marei left Doxa the Brand is going down fast!!! Frank S.
Doxa is a shell of its former self - the new management seems to have no understanding of the community or the incredible legacy they inherited. Will be watching the Aquastar story pretty closely going forward.
Great looking Watch, I admire the bold strategy in regards to pricing, I’m not certain how many people will spend that much on a brand they’ve not heard of, but I wish them the very best of luck
Like this format of video, could even cut it down 2-3 min more. And about the Aquastar Deepstar, pretty watch but 50,5 x 40,5 x 15mm is just way to bulky...
Great insights.
No other channel has introduced us to the Aquastar.
Not even on Instagram.
Check out the Aquastar Benthos....THAT is the watch they gotta bring back...
Paul Birthisel : good read! Thanks for that. 👍

I've just subscribed. You are a very interesting, well informed and perspicuous guy. "One of the best watch channels i've come across so far."
Armand is very articulate and knowledgeable. The kicker is, he’s only in his late teens maybe his early 20’s now. A very well spoken English gent 🙂
+ Stephen John Baldwin: Thank you very much for the kind words!
+ Asko: Thank you very much for such a kind comment! To confirm your point, I turned 20 a few days ago.
@@ArmandTheWatchGuy Happy 20th Birthday 🎁 🥳. Are you purchasing the Aquastar to celebrate? 😘
@@asko7113 Thanks very much! Actually, I don't have it in my sights at present but it's definitely a possibility!
A great informative review, keep up the good work.
Handsome piece 👍🏻
This is funny because I just bought the blue strap and love this watch, but didn't know the same company makes it 😂

Very cool watch indeed
Cool watch...Need to bring back the Benthos tho ....

All these years watching knowledgeable reviews and videos got me thinking: why does absolutely NO-ONE talk about West End Watch Co. ?
Chicken and egg I guess: no market, no interest
Aquastar all day
Very informative as usual 👍
Garbage watches.
Nice video mate
They are garbage. Please see the comment I just posted.
The Deepstar is too messy and cluttered for me. Some of those earlier models looked fine though. I'll still be buying a Doxa next year I reckon. lol
UTS München already is the next Doxa.
