    Half a year without a job, hooked on anger (which, to be honest, I don't think is a bad thing in of itself, it depends on how you use anger), avoiding doing my bachelor's thesis and not a single second of RSD videos watched. Today was my first day on my new job, and as soon as I got home and saw the notification for this video, I opened it instantly and watched it without pause.
    The problem is I thought to myself that I would feel great after starting work, but the truth is I feel more scared and sad than I ever felt in the last 6 months procrastinating. While watching this video I felt so many intense emotions, and was wondering why is this happening to me. But now I understand, my body is literally addicted to procrastination and low energy and because my RAS is forced to shift perspective, I'm experiencing huge resistance or friction to the new process and man does it feel bad.
    How would you guys approach this situation ? Is there something I'm missing that could make the process smoother or do I just ride it out ? I don't want to sound whiny like I want to avoid feeling uneasy, but the anguish seems so frightening sometimes, and it seems I am not good at facing it.

    • @garickjones3339

      theal1n I'm in same boat. I'm just saying fuck it and riding it out till I get used to it. It is scary as hell but what option do i really have, I'm tired of sitting at home all day and fearing joining society....gotta change. Stay strong man!

    • @theal1n
      @theal1n 6 років тому +3

      So I just looked up 25 Cognitive Biases and saw the first one "Reward/Punishment Super-Response Tendency" and it's about the power of incentives. And I really made a mental note of all the great things that I can do with this situation I'm in. Now I'm amazed how much better I feel and how many possibilities I see. Incentives...who knew lol. But thanks man, stay strong too !

    • @gaiusjuliuscaesar3204
      @gaiusjuliuscaesar3204 6 років тому +5

      I believe you will get great results in your psychology if you sit down and work on it. I personally love RSD's content on psychology.
      It is what makes or breaks a person. Because psychology is so much correlated with practice and execution that is the reason it should be mastered (money, high level skills acquiring, running a business, dealing with other people's unpredictability, going to war and making hard decisions).
      Now I'm just not the fan of waiting until 40 years old to actually get good at handling your head and getting back the integrity of your mind. Working on these things now like Tyler and Julien are saying can help you execute (most people aren't good executioners because of the repetitive lifestyle and work environment).

    Only issue is the need to have direction and a vision of your goal. Most are goalless but have a desire to succeed, be happier, and have a better sense of self. Without a goal, milestone, and proper approach you start off on a road to eventual mental failure due to lack of foundation. Confidence is is raised by small gains, and even mistakes so long as you've learned a lesson (which is then a gain!).

    Damn, this makes so much sense! When Im in a low vibration area (ex: steelmill where I work), I sometimes feel guilty to be high vibration because everything there is bringing everyone down and everyone is down during work. So I always need to lower my vibration in order to be "accepted" and to become relatable to most people. Another funny thing is that people aren´t always low vibration all the time (most of the time they are) but they can only allow some high vibration to shine through after their "low vibratrion reservoir" as been filled. What I like about working there is that I can learn to take conscious control on how to shield myself against all the low vibration energy. By shielding I don´t mean ignoring everyone, what I mean is to really feel my energy level (Be Present, Presence, Eckhart Tolle bell *...ding...*) and to deflect their negative energy as they talk, or signal or do anything they can to penetrate in my energy field and to poison it (daaaamn i´m so enlightened xD look at me not letting my personal ecosystem be poisoned by low vibration energy xD jk) I wonder if even other peoples toughts about me can affect me, maybe they can, because in the steelmill they come much more frequently and are even heavier, i can "deflect toughts" by not engaging in them, simply observing them, but sometimes i find myself looping on some shitty thought for some time and then I "Wake up" (and get mad! Fuuuuuck I entertained a stupid tought im so stupid! shiiit! xD jk) I take the oportunity to try to be present again sometimes i can sometimes i dont. Sometimes i start to feel rage and its also a good reminder to be present. Presence has been slowly dripping in my life has Tyler says. Its like a golden, ambar, ancient, drop of something unexplainable in words and its been making living easier and more fullfing has time passes by :)

    Owennnnn!!!! Your story crushes me!!! It sounds like your girl wanted her pain acknowledged and maybe help understanding it. Which I know you are at a level to help her with it now, but at the time you didn't know how to help her. Some people identify so much with their pain that their life becomes centered on it until the core trauma is addressed. To address the core trauma: you need to hear and acknowledge the pain. Validate her efforts and desires, because trauma subconsciously discredits people's desires. Help her understand what part of the relationship building process was violated in their trauma. And help them discover which boundary is best for preventing the same level of trauma.

    A pro tip someone told me a few years ago:: If you find yourself in a negative state bitching about stuff rather than fixing it, ask yourself: How much will this problem/situation matter one year from now? Like oh you got rejected, how much will this matter one year from now? Or oh this girl starts to lose interest, how much will this matter one year from now?
    Its a good way of filtering out the important problems from the unimportant.

    Consciousness is a stream of energy or energetic process, that's why its hard to go from negative to straight positive. It take's a lifestyle change, an active process of taking action towards a desirable state, to get out from the orbit of the environment that has up to that point led to an emotional ecosystem hindering a stable esteem, and that which is poised to deal with the adversity life has to offer.

    • @Sugabullets
      @Sugabullets 6 років тому

      Thrane Patrick I'm not saying I know everything, I'm actually saying I know that don't know everything, and because I know that, I know what I want and what I actually don't want as well as how I don't want to feel.

    • @RyanScarbrough
      @RyanScarbrough 6 років тому

      Interesting perspective... how does consciousness being a stream of energy or energetic process make it hard to go from negative to positive? Just because it is a stream of energy or energetic process, doesn't mean transforming from negative energy and into positive energy is hard. It's just a part of the energetic process, or a change of fluidity in the stream of energy.

    • @Sugabullets
      @Sugabullets 6 років тому +1

      Ryan S it's hard because it's a reinforced belief/self fulfilling prophecy based on your RAS. (Watch the video they explain it well)
      It's the same reason why people get fat after losing weight or having a relapse after quitting drugs.
      You don't want to become one hit wonder in area of success within your life. Only a lifestyle change will afford the consistency to be able to evolve into your vision.
      Consciousness is a process because there are no definitive steps, even if you do create an abstraction to parallel a stage or state.
      When you ride a skateboard you can tilt yourself left or right as two states, but to get to your destination it's a process of understanding the environment and making small adjustments to guide yourself to the end destination. It's highly unlikely the environment will be pushing you one single way in your journey, it's possible but rare.

    This is some good content. I like this, it made me reflect on myself a bit deeper. I just realize i really don't trust myself, like I don't trust myself at all, and I'm deeply afraid of what might happen next if I take a step forward towards my next goal. I'm terrified of looking like a phony. I'm so scared of becoming someone better then I was yesterday even though I deeply want it. The negative addiction part is true as well and being hooked on drama, I'm hooked on that as well. I'm addicted to trauma, even though I avoid it. It's weird I was just thinking about this the past 3 months trying to crack it down and boom this video came out lol it's like the universe spoke back at me saying "hey, need some help? 26:26 there's also this situation that happens when people are experiencing parallel perceptual realities. People who are in so much pain, but have no one to share and hold space for the pain, or have no one to see that pain, will experience their pain being amplified. A lot of the time, the person in pain will try to do things, mostly subconsciously at this point, to cause other people pain to stimulate empathy. It's not that misery loves company--misery 'needs' company. But as always, I suppose it's better to ask this task of sharing realities from people who resonate with it.

    • @keezer4346
      @keezer4346 6 років тому

      HugBunnies nah, the pain is mental, it’s not really there. It’s an illusion. It seems real, but if you believe you’re okay then you’re okay. The hard part is acquiring the thoughts that say you’re okay and believing them consistently in challenging situations and experiences.

    Honestly this is one of u'r best vids yet! This is the first time, I have ever commented a youtube video. But i feel like this has such a major key to it, that i just had to do it. I really like what Owen said about you have to be in the same paradigm as another person to connect fully. Just the other day my phone got stolen, when i was out partying and doing what we do. Anyway when i told my mom about it, at the dinnertable, it was like she wouldn't accept what i said before, i said a had some kind of low vibration reaction. I was like "Okaay, i'm done speaking," but i could feel the urge for her to get the "And of course i was so fucking annoyed, and it was the worst night ever" - Kinda thing. So i said "And yeah, i was so annoyed, and the night was ruined". First then she was like, as we say in Denmark: "Ohhh God, i can goddamn understand that!" I was soo surprised, but i guess it makes sense after seeing this video, since she just divorced my dad last month.

    Tyler: "Do it right now."
    Me: looking at my cat sitting on my legs:/
    Tyler: "Do it."
    Me: "Well but..."
    Tyler: "Do it!"
    My cat: screaming while flying through the whole room

    that might explain why when people complain to me about something and i tell them they are overreacting or that they can ignore it and its not even worth their time and energy they never agree with me but rather get angry at me for saying that instead of reinforcing their anger :(

      @@josheves438 It's tremendously helpful. I didn't stick 100% to the rules until now, but it is super helpful to discover your beliefs and then change them. And yes I changed a lot since then. Cleared up a lot of limiting beliefs. Combine this type of writing with taking action, especially letting go of the beliefs and you will come closer to your authentic self very fast.

    but you guys just said "never chase what you want" and now you are saying "if your status increases your mind will deliberately fuck you up"...which looks contradictory. i want status and i never chase it so when it the time comes and i am a high status person, there will be no difference how my mind sees it.
