When I saw the backgrounds you have made my first thought was "This guy has a lot of talent." The second thought was "I hope he will post videos showing how he creates these habitats."
Thanks for watching! Thats awesome to hear that they are popular in Europe! They’re still quite hard to come by here in Canada. I know they’ve been captive bred a few times but I imagine they are quite a hard species due to size. Imagine raising tiny babies lol. And I will make the build video!!
I have actually wanted to ask you about the exoT stone desert substrate! I would love to see a set up video, I want to do this for my Stenos. How do these guys compare to Stenos??
I love it! Actually gives the setup a much more naturalistic look and it was pretty easy to use! I’ll definitely make a video on the build! In comparing to stenodactylus: Pros: more active and out more frequently during the day so more fun to watch their setup. Cons: extremely tiny and much faster moving than stenodactylus which makes them harder to handle!
As long as there is no where they can escape from they would do great in a 2ft enclosure! Not sure how much it would cost but you will definitely need multiple bags of substrate for that!
how often do you have to clean the cage. can you do one that you dont have to clean just maybe wipe the glass. can you make a bio cage for them. also do you ship cages done to people like me beginners
I have to sift the sand about once a month! Doing bioactive for arid species is a little hard I haven’t ever done it but I’m sure it can be done! And where are you located? I could ship ready made enclosures but it would be very expensive!
My local petstore has a bunch of these for sale at a really good price. I have a spare 20 gallon with a background wall I already have on standby,. I used coco fiber and foam instead of clay but it can work as a desert setup. Now I have a couple questions, Do these breed in captivity? If yes are they cannibalistic towards their young or are they fairly tolerant if they have space and excessive amounts of food? Can males cohabit or will it result in death? What is an appropriate number to keep in a well setup 20 gallon tank? Obviously I just think these are cool, and if they breed that's cool but I'm by no means going into this with the idea that I'll make money, I mean they're going for 25$ each and I make more than that from a single newt and I produce 100s of those.
Where are you located! I’d love to get my hands on some more! As for your questions: I believe they can be bred in captivity but unfortunately I haven’t been successful yet! From what I’ve heard they are pretty good with the babies and don’t eat them but I’m sure there’s always exceptions! You could do quite a few in a 20 gallon I’m not sure how many but that’s a good size for how small they are!! I definitely recommend them tho, they are out all day and so much fun to watch!
@@daffysreptiles Yeah, I've had pretty good luck with my mourning geckos and prickly geckos and just love micro geckos in general. I may end up grabbing some in the near future. I live in Illinois(USA) and if you're serious about wanting to get some I could get in contact with the owner and see if she'd be interested in shipping you some.
@@nfd8-w7q micro geckos are super underrated! I think more people need to get into gonatodes & sphaerodactylus too! I think for the tropicolotes I’m not keeping them warm enough to breed, the people I’ve spoken too said they bred at 45 degrees Celsius which I’m not keeping them at! Are you on instagram? Send me a DM there! Definitely interested but would need to see shipping costs
@@daffysreptiles I don't use insta sorry. I texted her and told her you were interested and suggested she list them on MM, which I'm guessing she will if she hasn't already. I know she ships overnight so it'll probably be somewhere in the realm of 50-70$

Nice video! They are quite popular here in europe, sadly not in terms of captive breeding. Not yet. A video about the build would be super nice 👍🏻

Is a 2 foot viv okay for this species, also what price range do you think the entire setup would cost?

Great video
Thanks for watching!!
making me want some😚
I highly recommend them!!
Far too small for my tastes, but I can see why some people would like them. 🔎🦎
They’re super tiny and not really a handleable reptile but they’re super fun to watch!!
yes give me 10 !
Hahaha! Raise an army of them!
