  • Today I'm installing new front brakes on our B8/B8.5 Audi A4. I'm using parts supplied by Transit Auto. Genius Rotors and TEC Brake Pads (Linked below). I have about 40k miles on this car since the last set of brakes that were replaced on this car. Follow along as I go step by step on installing new brakes on our 2015 Audi A4 2.0T. This is going to be the same for other Audi's of similar years.

    Very important to use Jack stands. This past fall I was too lazy to go an extra few feet too grab mine and instead used a pair of cement blocks that were closer. I need to mention i was under my boat rewiring the trailer lights. I had just crawled out from under it when one block disintegrated, then the trailer twisted and fell off the other one. So don't ever be lazy like I was. I was very lucky I wasn't underneath it when that happened.

      Wow, that is a close call. Glad you weren't underneath it. I'll either use jack stands, wheel cribs, or 4x4/6x6 wood blocks. Great story to share.

    Great video! You mentioned you'd be doing a video of the rear brakes including dealing with the parking brake but I didn't see it on your channel?

      Planning on working through it next weekend. I have some garage space freeing up. Sorry for the delay

    I’m thinking about changing my 2013 a4 brakes myself. It looks a bit scary as the most I’ve ever done is a oil change

      I would suggest getting someone that is familiar with how to change brakes on a car to help you out. Compared to other cars, it is the same steps so someone familiar with how to do any brake change would be helpful.

    Hi, i have the same car model and have a massive issue with the braking system, the disks are getting to hot, on all 4 wheels, i have replaced disk&pads, calipers, hose, and liquid has been changed still the same issue, mechanics cannot find the issue, abs pump has no errors and master cylinder is ok. Any advises?

    • @SmackeysGarage
      @SmackeysGarage  5 місяців тому

      How did you check that the master cylinder was OK? That is probably where I would have started. Sounds like it is a system that is effecting all at once.

      @@SmackeysGarage hi sir, the mechanics said that abs pump and master cylinder have been checked and no issues with them..its annoying :(
      How you recommend to be checked?

      @ClaudiuOnea-im8in I would strongly consider bringing it to the dealer for brake issues. Let them diagnose it with their tools. If they can’t I’d bring it to another dealer

    Hi, what is the disc rotor diameter?

    • @SmackeysGarage
      @SmackeysGarage  8 місяців тому

      The parts I used are linked are in the description. There should be part numbers / diameters with them. I didn't order them based on diameter but on what fit.

    What’s the sticky stuff? At 7:38

      So it is a disc break grease that helps keep the brakes quiet and reduces vibration. I've added "Disc Break Grease" to the description with a link. That is typically the one I would use for a project like this.

    Been working on that T30 for several hours. Wtf

      The rotor bolt? I’d definitely replace and add something to it to stop corrosion.

      @SmackeysGarage yessir, the thing is totally rusted in place. Just snapped the head off so I'll probably have to drill it out. Next is the axle bolt, which is also completely stuck. Got the same impact and level 4 ain't even strong enough. Not happy with Audi rn lol

    That clip at 12:18 isn't fully seated and will end up flying off. I've seen it happen on many of these cars with this design.

      It's a good tip to make sure both of those are pushed in all the way. Thanks for calling that out.
